We have used George Myers Electronics for over 11 years. Whenever something has gone wrong with our televisions. The technicians have always been knowledgable, friendly and on-time. The problems were always solved. The last time we called was the end of January 2010. Our flatscreen was on the blink. They came. They took it to the store and it was back in 36 hours. Upon it's return there seemed to be a technical problem that didn't exist before. George Myers fixed it IN THE HOUSE at no cost to us. NOW THAT IS A FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD PROFESSIONAL. Henry Winkler

I brought in my fairly old Akai stereo amplifier and they did an excellent job fixing it. They even taught me how to set up my stereo system! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about all things audio.

I usually don't write reviews however in this case I had to. It started with a warranty ticket being generated by Sharp Aquos Advantage. Before I knew it (within an hour)I had a call from Jennifer at George Meyer to get the parts ordered and get information to facilitate a prompt service call. Then Rebecca from George Meyer called to schedule the appointment 3 days sooner than originally set. Due to my work schedule that was not possible. The next day my TV seemed to be working fine and when I called to cancel the appointment ,the phone was answered by the owner Morris. He suggested the appointment should be kept . If it acted up once "something is wrong" and will do it again. The Tech. Allen arrived on schedule and was very professional in replacing all 3 of the major components that may have been affected by the power surge. My whole life I have been in customer service and the entire expierence (including the follow up call from Morris after the service appt) is something that you ... Read more

I brought a JVC pro HD deck to be repaired here, as they are listed on the JVC site as a certified JVC service center. They quoted me $650 for the repair. I asked them to go ahead and fix it,and when I got it back, it did not work. I brought it back to them and was told that it would be an additional $850 to repair the deck. This deck cost me $1200 when I bought it. I contacted JVC and after endless emails and phone calls, JVC gave me a discount so I ended up paying another $665 instead of $850. Disgusting liars. If they would have quoted me $1,500 in the beginning, I would have just bought another deck.

I had a brain-teaser of a problem. Morris researched the problem, found the solution, help me solve it myself, and was as nice as can be about it. His shop is brimming with solved problems and is run very professionally. I have never been as pleased with an interaction with a repair shop as with George Meyer.

The people in the office were great to deal with. The techs came out and immediately figured out the problem. Returned with the part that had to be ordered and had the set fixed quickly.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the staff at George Meyer Audio and Video Services. We recently had an issue with our Sony television which was vital to an up coming event. The team understood the urgency of our situation and went out of their way to make sure our television was repaired quickly and expertly. There customer service group was courteous, understanding and willing to work with us to help us in our time of need. It is rare to find a group of people that stand by their word and their promises as the team at George Meyer. I thank you all for the help wonderful experience that went above and beyond what one would expect in today's day and age.

after a rough start dealing with the female associate at george meyer, the owner/manager Morris actually phoned me personally and told me that my TV was fixed!!! I had sent him an email saying i was concerned with all the negative stuff i had read about his business and was beginning to feel that I may be given the run around as well. i can understand when we have to wait for parts, and when there is a lack of technicians to come onsite... my pet peeve is poor customer service over the phone.

It's Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. My 50" Samsung DLP TV goes out and it's making strange noises. Oh no! That means no football games and no Macy's Day Parade for my wife. Nadda, Zip, Zilch. After making a few frantic calls I was referred to George Meyers by Magnolia Home Theatre. I stopped in around 10am and spoke with Morris (quite a joker!) about my TV problem. He really seemed to care and worked with me to assess my options on what I should do. So I decided to fix the television. Man, I was in luck! Not only did they have the original Samsung DLP light bulb I needed, but Morris also correctly diagnosed the noise problem that I needed a new color wheel as well. So after our conversation I went home and Morris sent a repair team out to my apartment by 2pm the same day with all the necessary parts. By 2:30 I was up and running and the TV has never looked better. Big thanks to Morris and his crew for coming through on such short notice and saving my holiday weekend! You guys ... Read more

Best place I have gone to yet. If you want someone who knows and cares about Stereo and TV equipment this is the place to go. I have been a professional audio engineer and audiophile for 30 years. Music is my canvass, and when my equipment fails there is no place in town like- George Meyer TV & Stereo- for knowledgeable and fast repair. The owner, an audiophile himself, will even come out to your car and help carry in your equipment. Parking is a breeze in the large 15 minute zone directly in front of the shop. When the repairs are done you are escorted to the technician’s desk where your equipment is demonstrated .Who, these days, has the class to do that? While I was in the shop I heard the staff following up on a day late parts delivery. These people take you and your Stereo/TV seriously.

George Meyer TV was sent to handle a repair covered by my Circuit City warranty. I dealt with Morris and Lola and had nothing by problems. Basically I got the run around for 3 weeks. There was a part one day and there wasn't a part another day. They told me to wait for a tech to come out because they wanted to order a part then a week later when the tech came out, I was told the part didn't exist and all he did was hook up a blu ray player to my tv and left. What really disappointed me was that they didn't really care if their service stunk. Where I work, the only real asset our company has is our reputation and the level of 'care' show our customers. I don't why it's absent at George Meyer TV. The reason I had purchased an extended warranty was because I cared about my tv so I don't get why George Meyer TV takes this kind of business on if they obviously hate doing it well. After having to call them repeatedly and getting a different story from Morris then from Lola and then... Read more

I should first mention, I am Very-Picky! I own several pieces of high-end McIntosh audio equipment. 5 of those pieces were in need of being serviced and/or repaired to various degrees. I obtained a list of "Authorized" McIntosh Service providers via the McIntosh website. After calling several of those listed, George Meyer was the 1 and only service provider that responded immediately...and with very detailed information & competitive pricing...4 of those pieces have been serviced/repaired by George Meyer on time & at the exact price quoted me...I just took the 5th piece in & have no doubt the results will be the same... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GEOGE MEYER... Oh and did I mention they are located 45 miles from my home! but certainly worth the drive... I pass a number of other McIntosh "Authorized" Service providers on my way to George Meyers, and will continue to do so!

I've used George Meyer twice for service on my Fujitsu plasma TV and each time they've been great. Responsive, friendly, and very good at what they do. Most recently removed a piece of dust the size of a fly (really!) from the inside of the screen. Geo Meyer picked up the set and delivered it back, clean and clear, in less than 24 hours. And stayed while I checked every component, answered all of my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Geo Meyer TV to anyone who needs repair work. Excellent job.

They're friendly and have always gone the extra step to make sure I'm happy. I won't go anywhere else with my pro eqpt. - you should definitely check them out. Parking is convenient too! Nothing but the highest of praise for George Meyer- was concerned after reading some reviews and not being from the Santa Monica area, but when I had a Sony HDTV just 6 months out of warranty lose picture Sony no longer had replacement components, Morris Polanski of George Meyer and his team not only provided excellent service, but advocacy with Sony and provided me with essential information to understand my options. Even when it came to initially diagnosing the issue, Morris and his team- young though some may look, were patient, knowledgeable, provided me with realistic expectations in terms of price, timing, etc. for similar issues. Ultimately, Morris was critical and bottom line, Sony replaced the unit FREE with an entirely new set because they could no longer had parts for the model. Morris really stepped up and had Sony not done right by me in what they proposed, George Meyer would do its best to see what it could do. They understand the importance of long-term customer rela... My Toshiba flat panel TV died after 9 months. After talking to Toshiba (via Costco) I was referred to George Meyer as "a local repair shop." I was given another number to a firm in Culver CIty I couldn't locate any information about. After reading all the 1-star reviews (worst. repair. shop. ever.) I was quite scared, and considered calling back Toshiba to see if there was another place I could go. But, I figured, I wasn't paying out of pocket, and I'd give them a week. Turns out I needed a few more days (they ordered parts on a Tuesday, called back the next Monday, then again on Wednesday to let me know the visit was on Thursday. Not exactly good with the phone, and I can understand why some don't like it. But, they came exactly when they said they would, fixed the TV using the part they had pre-ordered, and did a fine job. I think it's because it was warranty service, honestly -- they came across a bit flaky with scheduling but otherwise, fine work.

George Meyer TV & Stereo is all about customer service. I never write online reviews but felt my experience was worth telling others about. George Meyer's staff is exceptional and I couldn't of asked for a better experience. They were upfront with the costs and I found their rates extremely reasonable. I highly recommend George Meyer and wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

I was hesitant to use them because of the bad reviews on line but my TV was under warranty and I had no choice. Fortunately, the whole staff was attentive, explaining just what they were up against with Panasonic and promising to keep in touch as they were given info which is exactly what they did. They even gave me a comparable loaner TV to use while mine was in the shop. It all worked out just fine and I would highly recommend using George Meyer. It is important to understand that sometimes their hands are tied by the powers that be and they can only do so much. Ask for Morris. He was great!

I sometimes work as much as 60 hours a week, so it's tough for me to take off on weekdays to take care of other things in my life. My Sharp big screen TV went out on Wednesday night, so I called Sharp the next day and they put everything in motion for George Meyer to handle the warranty repair. A woman from George Meyer called to set the in-home appointment, said they'd have the needed parts on Friday and they could repair it on Sunday or Monday. I had to watch Game 6 against Houston at a friend's house, and wanted to host Game 7, so of course I opted for Sunday. Sure enough, George Meyer's techs repaired the TV Sunday morning, and later on my boys and I were able to enjoy the Lakers' glorious victory over the Rockets! Thanks George Meyer, you guys are life savers!

I NEVER have written a negative review about any business, person, or entity. I simply don't care enough to - until I came across George Meyer TV & Stereo. I feel obligated to report this because I wouldn't want anybody else to deal with what I have ( and still am) trying to resolve. Shoot me an email and I can give you a list of all the negatives I've experienced with George Meyer and owner, Morris Polinski. In short, this business is bordering on a scam (again, email me and i can give you more details). Morris Polinski should come out of hiding, stop telling lies, and face his customers.

I read some of the horrible stuff on the net about this business and it does not give the company or its workers any justice. Don't believe the negative hype. They gave me the best service and even showed me how to work the receiver that geek squad told me was broken. These are hard working people that try to give every customer the best service and high quality workmanship on every piece to equipment they service. Remember there is always going to be a few bad apples out there and you can not please every one. so screw the bad apples because these are people who want bad service and a inferior product. Remember Mama Always said You get what you pay for.

Recently took a Bose media center and Acoustimass module in to see why there wasn't sound. The media center displayed an 801 error code - bad hard drive. Two weeks and $60 later, finally got a call that it would cost $400 to repair. Media center had a bad hard drive (duh) and Acoustimass module needed new power supply. When questioned about the Accoustimass module, the answer was that he heard a hum...replacing the power supply was optional. I had a bad feeling when I dropped the equipment off...the owner gave me relationship advice when I got upset about my spouse nicking the Acoustimass getting it out of the car. Also the woman completing the repair request had a lot of difficulty completing a rather simple form. Something about the place seemed off. We talked about leaving...wish we had. Thankfully we decided to pick up the equipment and call Bose repair at 800-367-4008 instead. The person I spoke with was helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. In minutes my repair request... After receiving unsatisfactory service on my vintage McIntosh amp at a different repair shop, I resolved that from then on only qualified technicians would handle my baby. I turned to the manufacturer who then highly recommended George Meyer TV & Stereo, so I brought the amp there. It?s a very busy shop. I was amazed by all the incoming and outgoing packages that were stacked up near the door, and the phone continually ringing?apparently they have several phone lines. Within the first few minutes of talking with the owner, Morris, and his McIntosh technician, Joe, their knowledge, expertise and understanding gave me a comfortable feeling. They were both kind enough to take the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. They said up front that due to the repairs ahead of me it would be 10-14 days before the unit would be evaluated, which I was okay with, and the minimum fee to check it out was $60, which was also okay since they said that would count toward the total repair ... They do not deserve any stars. If you have received good service from them its one of two things. You are either family or won the lottery on this one. Just read the other negative comments and it somes up my experence exactly !! Ther service was so bad and botched up the factory replaced our flat screen. It had gone on so long and the factory had the part in stock the entire time. The set was still under warrianty. Morris and Ray ,do not beleive a thing that comes out of ther mouths. This is such an excellent and well run establishment. It would be foolish to go anywhere else for your needs. I came in their with an absolutely busted, cheap stereo that had certainly past its prime, and they were willing to sell me a brilliant cherry Marantz for such a bargain. This is some of the best customer service I have ever seen. It is truly a great group of people.

My beloved Marantz $2100.00 DVD player broke. These guys felt so bad for me that I had to drive 88 miles round trip to them, that they went and checked inventory to see if the correct replacement drive system was in stock...when it was (hurray) they insisted on doing it on the spot, to save me leaving it, and having to do 88 miles again, next week! The repair took 35 minutes and the machine is perfect! They were courteous, fun, freindly and totally efficient! I was 1000% impressed and would recomend them to my best freinds! Awesome experience! I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service in my life. Being put on hold indefinitely, NEVER being called back, NEVER a straight answer as to the status of the item, no one EVER knowing what is going on. People being "in meetings" for the entire day as an excuse not to get back to you... And to top it all off, after 7 WEEKS to get the television fixed, I get back a television that still does not (and is even worse off than before) and get this: THE PARTS WE WAITED WEEKS FOR TO ORDER WERE NEVER ACTUALLY USED IN THE UNIT THEY GAVE BACK TO ME! If this doesn't stink like a scam, I don't know what does. They'll sound all apologetic on the phone--if you're lucky enough to catch them--but bottom-line is, they aren't really phased by the fact they are so unorganized they don't know who did what--or better yet--DIDN'T do anything! Had I known how skeevy and a waste of time this whole fiasco would be, I would have taken my TV elsewhere!

Just before the holidays my Marantz DV9600 stopped playing CDs. I was dismayed to find that the closest service center was in Los Angeles as I live in south Orange County. I called George Myer's and was greeted with a pleasant voice that truly seemed interested in my problem. I took the unit up and dropped it off early on a Friday morning. I was impressed with the huge amount of equipment on the service racks and the large shipment of new things to repair. As I left I kept thinking it would take forever to get my unit back. To my surprise I was called a little over a week later to hear that the unit need a new read mechanism which had been ordred and was expected in the next day or two. Next day I got a call saying the part had arrived and my unit was ready to go. I drove up and once again was greeted by nice people. I expressed how impressed I was at the rapid turn around. Gave them a projector to clean. They said it would take ten days. I called many times over the following months, everytime they say they will call back but never did. After four months (!!!) they tell me they sent it to the manufacturer and it would cost $900. This turned out to be lies, they never sent it (I called the manufacturer) and there was nothing wrong with it. I went to pick up the projector, they had not touched it. Took it home cleaned it myself and it worked fine. Their attitude throughout was arrogant and misleading. Avoid them! PS They did return the deposit but it was total waste of time.

I was first referred to George Meyer by Denon corporate when my Denon 2910 dvd player stopped working late August of this year. After paying beacoup dollars for this player - needless to say I was quite upset. Then, I went to George Meyer in Santa Monica. These guys really knew their stuff. Not only did they diagnose the problem immediately, but they also fixed it in a timely fashion (within 2 days as I recall). I found them to be honest, efficient and extremely fair. They constantly kept me in the loop as to what was going on with my DVD player and how the problem would be resolved. Unfortunately, in early November, my older by a hair Denon 2900 DVD player decided to go bust. After Pioneer Support walked me through some possible quick-fixes over the phone, they referred me to George Meyer TV. This is a continuation of the previous post... When he got on the phone, he told me that my unit was ready for pick-up. He then tried to tell me that I owed another $40 for parts and repair. When I complained about the fact that when I brought the unit in a full TWO months prior and chastised him for never returning my calls, he told me to just come pick up the receiver without any further charge. I picked up the unit, brought it back to my apartment and hooked it up. After all of the hassle over the previous two months, the receiver STILL DID NOT WORK. Since then, as I expected, the company has ignored all phone calls and emails. Do not trust these people. Their customer service is awful. All they want to do is steal your money.

I have a Fujitsu Plasma TV. It cost over $9000. dollars. I started to have picture problems, and I called a few places to see about repairs. The cheapest anyone would touch it was $500. Then I called George Meyer. They made a service call to my home, determined the issue, which also had to do with my Cable, and I only paid for the service call--saving hundreds of dollars. Stupid me. I should've read other people's review and stayed away from here. Horrible service. They sent "technicians" to check my 4 months old high end plasma TV which stopped working. They were just h.s. kids picking the TV up and returned it to the shop. That's $200. After close to 2 weeks of ME calling them most of the time, they finally called back to say it's fixed. Parts cost me $400 + 150 labor. That's addition to $200. Did I have a chance to approve the parts order? No. Many phone calls with no return calls, and different answers every time I called them. Once when I called, they said they were working on it. Two days later, the same people said they haven't started to work on it. Different answers when I got through to these people. When I asked for the old part to verify, they said they had to send it back to the manufacturer. They even said they have 1 year warranty on their work -- but the paper only says 30 day labor and 90 day parts. TV came back little sc... Read more

My 32? Sharp Aquos LCD television went out just a few months after I bought it. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Since the tv was still under warranty I called Sharp, who then referred me to George Meyer TV, a local authorized repair shop. Before I could call George Meyer, a woman in their office named Lola called me to set up an appointment for two days later. Apparently Sharp had transmitted all of my relevant info to them. I?m not someone who likes being given a ?time window,? whether it?s for cable tv install/repair, furniture delivery, equipment repair, etc., but I suppose it?s unavoidable.
