I absolutely loved this dog food for my dogs and they all felt the same. I started buying this dog food when it was released at Sam's Club. I was breeding dobermans, blues and fawns, and they were all put on this food at three weeks old. Puppy Chow is NOT a good idea when it comes time to clean up the yard. Beef n more is small enough in size to feed a young puppy, they all loved the taste of it, and the waste was solid and healthy. When I would open the canned, the dogs would smell it instantly and surround me until they all got some. I always made sure I opened enough cans for all to have once the food was eaten. Also, with breeding dogs, you need to have a dog food that meets the different nutritional needs of a pregnant dog, a puppy, a young dog and an older dog. This food is the only one I could find that all I had to do was adjust the amount. With other dog foods, you have to buy different types. At one time I had 5 adult dobermans and the 40lb bag would last me 10 days! This fo... Read more

This is an excellent dog food that I have fed to numerous breeds. It is okay for both young and older dogs and is easy on their stomach. I add add a bit of canned food with the dry and mix with water to make it more edible. San's Club told me today they are not selling either canned or dry anymore so I will be looking for a new supplier. I don't understand negative reviews since this has done better with more breeds and different dogs than anything I have used in twenty years.

Very poor quality ingredients. Contains more corn then it does meat, has bone meal in it and wheat, etc. All kinds of things that you want to stay away from.

Regular Merrick dog food IS great - but I am extremely disappointed to see Merrick produce this particular line. Corn and by-products? Yuck! These are the things the company expressly avoids in its' better line. This stuff is cheap for a reason folks. And not only that - Sam's Club advertises it as free of by-products. FALSE.

I have fed all of my dogs this for years. The dogs I have now have never eaten any other kind of dog food and they love it. I don't have any problems with my dogs whatsoever.

My Dog loves it. She is healthy and happy in her old age! Her coat feels soft. Her eyes are bright. I couldnt ask for more in a dog food! I am a life long Merrick customer now.

Horrible food, poison for your dog.  1 star because there is nolower rating.Ingredients:  Fresh beef (80% water), ground yellow corn, soybean meal, corn gluten meal, wheat middling's, ground wheat, beef tallow1st ingredient is beef, but when the water is removed it would be moved to bottom of list. That makes corn the true first ingred (no dog food should have corn)2nd ingred is soy (causes many allergies in dogs, some think more so than wheat, one of worst ingreds in dog food)3rd ingred is surprise! more corn.4th ingred is wheat (read above, should NEVER be in dog food)5th ingred is more wheat (unbeliveable!)6th ingred is beef tallow (a very cheap low quality source of fat.....look for chicken fat, it is the best)It would be hard to find a food that would be more cruel to feed to your pet friend than this!

This food has been excellent for my two dogs. A Portuguese Water Dog with a sensitive stomach and an Akita mix with allergies. Both dogs are thriving on this food and I have tried many and even done the RAW food diet. I like this better than the higher end Merrick foods and have tried all of them.

I bought a 24 pack at sams for a really good price. The ingredients compare pretty well to canidaes canned food. I opened the can and it smelled pretty good and I have gone through every can when I feed it. Everything has looked ok thus far and my dog seems to really like it.
