Mon Oct 29 2007I read the raving reviews about the quality of the pizza and in the end I was left disappointed. I got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of BBQ chicken pizza ($5.50ish). I used to work in a pizza place serving pizza similar to Fuel's. The pizza slices I got tasted exactly like the pizza we had sitting out on the counter all day (as opposed to the fresh pies). Specifically, the pepperoni slice was pretty hot but nothing to write home about in terms of quality of the sauce and dough. The BBQ chicken slice was luke-warm at best and all I could taste was the BBQ sauce, although there was alot of chicken on it that gave it a good texture. I imagine ordering a whole pie fresh would be much better. There is potential and maybe I got a couple of bad pieces at a slow time of the night (6:30pm) but I was disappointed nonetheless. I should also mention that the people working there were really nice, and I'm sure if I said something they would have made it right. In summary if you go there... Read more

Fri Aug 24 2007I kept getting told how good it was. It's garbage. It's cooked on a conveyer belt. Service is great, but the pizza is just plane garbage.

Thu Mar 08 2007As Charlotte has grown, so has the number of pizza places. After hearing how tasty and wonderful Fuel Pizza was by many people and so-called food critics, there was no doubt I salivated with high expectations my way over there. The service was friendly and did well with smiles considering the high volume of customers, but the pizza was disappointingly ??nothing to write home about?. Not that it was bad, it was simply average. There is definitely room for improvement in regard to their pizza sauce.

Wed Jul 26 2006In Short One of the cooler restoration projects you'll see, this funky neighborhood hangout used to be a gas station. It has retained the service-station theme in name and decor; outside seating is where the gas pumps were. Patrons can order by the (huge) slice, or create their own combinations from the menu. There are basic as well as the gourmet-style pies; appetizers include the garlic knots--wads of dough baked with garlic and butter.

Sun Jul 16 2006New York City without the attitude! This place is clean & friendly! Everyone is welcome! Business people sit next to mechanics, & everyone has fun! The pizza is wonderful, as are all the other items. One question: why wont they franchise? This is too good to keep to themselves!

Fri Jan 06 2006Pizza being one of my favorite foods, I immediately went to Fuel when I moved to Charlotte. I ordered a 2 topping pizza and sat down to wait. The food took unusually long to arrive, and when it did it was the completely wrong order- a size larger than I had asked for and missing one of the 2 toppings. When I informed our server that the pizza was not only a size too big, but missing a topping she replied, matter-of-factly "Oh we're out of that topping. didn't they tell you?" Then she walked away. No they hadn't told me, and the fact that they never attempted the fix the problem left a horrible impression. The food is decent at best, and the horrible service I received has left a bad taste in my mouth. I recommend trying another pizza joint any time.

Thu Jun 09 2005I go to the Fuel pizza on East Blvd. I have always been treated like a valuable customer and the food and service are great. I sometimes get the take and bake pizza to prepare at home. I have two 16-year olds and they love it. This is true "Yankee" pizza and it sure beats the heck out of all of the "upscale" pizza places in town. It's the best pizza you can get below the Mason-Dixon line.

Wed Jun 01 2005this is the best pizza i have ever tasted. i love the atmosphere. its the best pizza in Charlotte.

Wed Jun 01 2005My family and I had a great time at Fuel! My wife had a u-choose salad, I had some incredible wings that were extra crispy, and we split a huge pizza with the kids. You could tell that the ingredients were fresh, not frozen, and that the dough was prepared fresh that day. The sauce was also great! Rich tomato flavor without the acidity of canned sauce. We highly recommend Fuel!

Sun Jan 26 2003I love it.I love gasoline style.I walked in & I was greeted so pleasantly I felt like I'd gone home & mom was caring for me. I'm Italian & I got a Meatball Sub-which was awesome. I wish they would add banana-peppers to their menu the-sub was sliced meatballs, but being Italian I am used to Big Meatballs, but actually it was easier to eat & the bread was really tasty. They said it would take about 5 mins.& it did.I had a convw/another customer she told me all the items she liked-so I have a long list for my future orders. I intend to be a regular customer after this pleasant first encounter. I couldn't eat the entire sub because it was so filling-so I have a major leftover for lunch today-so I am going to fill my tank up again. Give it a try-I think you will be hooked.

Thu Dec 05 2002I didn't think this pizza tasted very good and was way too greasy. The atmosphere was cool, but that doesn't make a pizza taste good.

Tue Nov 26 2002fuel pizza it was ok but the pizza is just like every other pizza company there is other than the major chains. and it was to pricey for two slices of pizza and a drink was 10 bucks
by gestet11368353_401
Wed Nov 06 2002Yes the Pizza is tasty as it is at about a hundred other places in town. But there is better. I guess it depends on what you like. Not the place to go for serious food.

Wed Jul 24 2002I come to Charlotte once a month just to treat my kids to Fuel Pizza. Great family hangout. My entire family is absolutely in love with Fuel and the people at Fuel!
by atime4me1
Tue Jul 23 2002Fuel Pizza is THE best pizza around town. Love the New York style. Their specialty pizza's are fantastic. Love the "whole engine". If you want good food, you better get fueled! Walking into Fuel gives you an authentic feeling of the old time gas station with the smell of gasoline replaced by the mouth watering fragrance of the many dishes they serve. The decor is fabulous, the employees curteous and the food delicious.

Mon Jul 22 2002I had read good things about Fuel Pizza before travelling to Charlotte. I certainly was not disapointed. Great pizza, regardless of toppings. My wife ate a couple of slices of cheese pizza (the true test of a quality pizza), and I had a couple of loaded slices. Each type was as good as any I ever ate in New York.

Fri Jul 19 2002We have been to Charlotte several times. On of the places we look forward to stopping at is "Fuel Pizza". The people are always friendly, the food is excellent, and the price is extremely reasonable. Here is hoping that they stay in business for a hundred years so that future generations can enjoy them as much as we do.

Wed Jul 17 2002Best pizza in the area hands down, fast friendly service at a resonable price.
