I find that everything at Friday's tastes like rancid cooking oil. Not exactly very appetizing if you ask me.

The only time I've been there it wasn't very good. Decent food at an enormous price. Never been back to one since and I don't mind if I never go back there again.

I used to go to Fridays a lot with big groups of friends and it always seemed like a good place for that. They have great appetizers and a $20.00 deal now where you get 1 appetizer, an entree and dessert. Pretty cheap! And you have to try the Jack Daniels grilled items. The sauce is delicious!

The food is just run of the mill pub grub, the well drinks are bottom end, the wait staff look like they've been outfitted with blinking highway warning flares, and the place seems to be full of loud, just off work gaggles of women trying to outshriek each other.

This place is O.K. but the prices are way inflated for the type of food that you receive.

NO MORE FOR ME. I WENT TO THE CLIFFSIDE NJ RESTAURANT LAST WEEK AND DECIDED NEVER AGAIN. WE WAITED MORE THAN THIRTY MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD (BURGERS). WHEN THEY ARRIVED THEY WERE ALL WELL DONE. EVERYONE ASKED FOR MEDIUM. MY WIFE'S COBB SALAD CAME WITH A SUPER SMALL THIMBLE OF DRESSING. WHEN SHE ASKED FOR MORE THE WAITRESS SAID "NO PROBLEM" AND WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN. MY DAUGHTER'S CHICKEN STRIPS WERE NINE BUCKS! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN BECAUSE THE PLACE WAS ALMOST EMPTY AT 1PM.

The one in Kennesaw, GA on Barret Parkway is NASTY. Seriuosly dirty, horrible service and over priced greasy food. I have been a server, so I am very forgiving of other servers. However our food when it finally arrived was cold, soaked in grease, and our server (the typical Abercrombie-copy) totally ingored us. Since everything sucked so bad she offered a coupon for a 2 for 1 lunch. I told her to keep it. I still tipped her well even though, the whole expirience sucked.

This place is corny as hell! All the funny stuff on the wall makes me think I'm at a flea market. The menu is basically just bar food. The servers have to wear those clown college outfits with buttons hanging all over thier shirts. The service is good though.

Nothing really bad,(except maybe the noise level)-but certainly nothing to write home about, either.

We have one of these in our area and I have liked it from day one, but many people that I have talked to say they hate it so it is not always a consistent place. My other half loves this place way more than I do so we do tend to go their whenever we go out for dinner which isn't really that often. I am not always impressed with them like Bob Evan's, because their service is not always good, there food is not always right and good either. I was a server for about 13 years and so I do tend to watch them and rate them, and I don't like it when they don't check on you or over check on you. At our location they tend to not check on you and I hate hunting down a server. I am one of those people who will get up and go looking if it gets that bad.

My rating for Friday's has dropped after my recent meal there. I last ate their several years ago, and I was disappointed by what I found this time around. The dining room was crowded, and the table that we sat at for a party of five was tiny. Nobody offered us a high chair, despite the fact that they noticed my son in his car seat. They served the Margarita in a huge glass, but they had so much ice in the glass that I was still finished with the drink in just a few sips. The food was not great at all, both in appearance and taste. At the end of my meal(Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta) there was way too much oil sitting in the bottom of the bowl, and I didn't feel like there was any spice that would have otherwise made me feel that this was cajun flavored. I know that eating at a chain restaurant can be either hit or miss, but after looking at the other ratings for Friday's, it appears to me that they don't have the consistency of quality that other popular chains seem to have. After no... Read more

I think it depends on which Friday's you go to. There are a few good ones out there where the food isn't so bad and the service is alright, but there are so many where this isn't the case for whatever reason.

Last year my wife and I spent 2 months on the Chinese mainland. We subsequently visited Hong Kong and ate at the first western restaurant we saw...the Friday's on Kowloon. The food was pricy (as is everything in Hong Kong) but it was delicious.

Not terrible but not great either, the atmosphere is pretty synthetic and the food can be bland to great depending on the dish and location. The Jack Daniels meals are quite good. The waiters with pins all over them, wearing stupid hats really annoy me.

The food is good here, but I find the waitstaff hiring to be a tad discriminatory, like many of these places. It usually hires the typical white, preppy cliqueish Abercrombie type. Many businesses practice this disgusting habit, and no, it's not done because they want competent people. It's pretty uncomfortable to eat at a restaurant that seems like some cool kid's party in high school!

The last time I went to a Friday's, the place was a complete mess (dirty tables everywhere) and even the management seemed to be no older than 20. Just heat up their frozen food in your oven - that'll give you the Friday's experience, especially if you let it sit and get cold for awhile and then drop the plate on the way to your table.

The service is terrible. There are 2 near my home and we went to one some years ago and bad service. Went to the other, bad service. Waited a couple of years and went again, bad service. They have 25 servers and they are all crummy. Food is pretty good, once you get it, but the price for what you get is not a good bargain that offsets the crappy service.

I figured I'd give it a shot the other day; I mean, how different could it be from all the other sit-down places with all that americana type stuff nailed to the walls? Yeah, well, the answer is, surprisingly, VERY different. The waiter guy got our drinks, then went off . . . about half an hour later, the couple at the table next to ours got up and left in disgust, looked like they only got their drinks, too. Someone who I guess was in a managerial position came by and asked us how things were going. Uhhh . . . good. Except I think our waiter forgot us a while ago. Turns out the guy was walking around outside, talking on his cell phone. The food turned out to be dry and tasteless. Yeah, it's a single, isolated incident, but there are wayyy to many other options to choose from, rather than taking a shot with them again.

bland over-priced junky chain food. Joe and Joanne Worker like this place b/c it is non-threatening and there is one in ever strip mall. they like to feel important and join all the other Joe and Joanne Workers for Happy hour at TGIF b/c TGIF understands Joe and Joanne Worker's needs. I'd rather go to a unique restaurant in the city then this place.

This is one of the most crowded market segments in the bunch of chains - there are Ruby Tuesday's and Bennigans as direct copies/imitations and then there are spin-offs or similars such as Applebee's and Chili's. Yet of those, I like Chili's and Applebee's the best. Firday's is fair and not to be sneezed at if nothing else is available, but usually they are crowded (which does not always equate great food, contrary to popular opinion here on this board) and noisy. Like California Pizza Kitchen, they have tried to leverage their brand identity by putting their product in the supermarket, so why bother going? Buy it in the freezer case and take it home and save some cash. As for the entrees they don't spin off at your local Safeway/ Albertson's/ Giant/ what have you, do a websearch and the recipes are out there! Make it yourself... you'll save, have better service and probably a better time, too.

I would feel odd giving a chain like this 5 stars, but of all those big chains (Ruby Tuesday, Applebees, Chilis, Bennigans, etc), this has the best menu and the best drinks. LOVE those Jack Daniels chicken strips and pot stickers. The Fridays near my town has a real neighborhood bar feel. I've always had a good time there. Don't knock Fridays!

Places like this, Bennigans, and Applebees have a niche, I guess. If you are a stranger in a strange land, you can be pretty sure that the Big Burger at the TGIF in San Jose is like the Big Burger at the TGIF in Norfolk. It's not spectacular, but guys with simple palates (like me) leave satisfied. My 2 favorite TGIF stories: 1) Eating at the TGIF in the Providence Airport and trying to cut Buffalo Strips with plastic utensils. I broke 3 forks and 2 knives. I suggested to the waiter that they put real silverware on a lanyard connected to the table so the Arabs couldn't sneak them on the airplane. 2) I ordered a steak and the waitress HANDED it to me. I felt like my hands received 2nd degree burns and barely got the plate onto the table (lest the steak fell upon the lap). Of which the dumb waitress replied, careful, the plate is VERRRRY HOT. Of which I replied )in my best Seinfeld voice), How come waiters never say, 'Be very careful, this plate is freeeeezing cold.'

Friday's seems to be one of the better generic chain restaurants. The menu is better and more encompassing than those of Applebee's and Chili's, though the latter has better food in my opinion. Friday's seems to have toned down the atmosphere a bit, and they have the best fries of the lot. Finally, the cost is comparable to its competition.

I've never understood the tremendous hubbub about all of these slow food restaurants (with the exception of Friendly's and Applebee's). They not only have sub-par food, but slower service, strange tables, waits for refills, higher prices, bad music, boring TV selections and the requirement to leave huge tips. The fast food restaurant is a much better setup, in my own opinion. My one visit to Friday's will certainly be my last. Their chicken fingers paled in comparison to Chick-Fil-A, KFC, Arby's and even Dairy Queen. Their french fries are horrific and easily stomped by any fast food restaurant. Combine this with cigarette smoke, alcohol served, unstable tables, slow service and high prices, I would recommend you never eat here!

Actually they got rid of the goofy hats and outfits a few years ago. Now the servers wear black shirts and blue jeans. The menu has a fairly broad appeal and the crowd is generally college-age. Friday's also makes great drinks but they are on the pricy side. All in all it is a fun and casual restaurant.

Real Chinese food (the stuff you eat in China) sucks bigtime. After 3 weeks in the wilderness I visited the one in Beijing. It was like dying and going to heaven. I had the ribs with Jack Daniel sauce. One of the great moments of my life. I don't visit Friday's very often except in foreign cities. Then it is a must stop.

This place is absolutely awesome. I went there for the first time two weeks ago, and was so impressed that we went again last night, ans both times it was excellent! My steak was cooked just right, and I just love the taste of their unique Mashed Potatoes. I also enjoy the Fried Mozzerella as an appetizer- simply awesome! The service is great and the restaurant is generally clean. A great place to go for a good meal!
