He stumbled coming out of the chute in 2008, and really doesn't have the fire for the campaign in 2012. Also, his age is a drawback.

He'll be 70 in 2012, and if you thought he ran a lazy, shameful, slipshod campaign in 2008, imagine what he could do with four more years to work on his so called skills. Politicaly, he was a worthless cocksucker in 2008 and he'll be a worthless cocksucker all his life. Case closed.

Former TV actor Fred Thompson pitched himself as a solid conservative, family man, and political outsider. Really? He was a long-time lobbyist, for Richard Nixon and divorced a playboy model that was 24 years younger than he was. Additionally, he only married his first wife after finding out she was pregnant.

His 2008 run was akin to a guy on a two lane road peeking out from behind the car in front of him, seeing a big fucking truck about to cream him, and promptly getting back in line, possibly even slowing down because he's lost all nerve to drive. You gonna vote for that?

I have my problems with Thompson, but his views on the 2nd amendment gives me hope.

First things first - if he couldn't stay awake for the 2008 primary debates, what makes you think he will be able to in 2012? The Fred Fireworks Fizzled a long long time ago and they will not likely revive. I disagree with some aspects of TORT reform. And abortion is not the proper place for federalism.

Great idea man, poor campaigner. Would need an enthusiastic JFK like VP.

How he ran his campain in '08 was wrong! He's also a grumpy old man.

No. It will not be Fred Thompson. Now he is an actor and just because he was on the Law & Order tv series, doesn't exactly qualify him as a good candidate for President. By 2012, it would be an age and health issue. Maybe he would like to play a part in the upcoming "Dark Shadows" movie.

Good actor, but too old, doesn't relate well with younger voters, and ran a very boring campaign. You have to be able to generate media attention and excite a crowd. Love her or hate her, but Sarah Palin did that. She is the main reason McCain did as well as he did. 2008 McCain was not the 2000 McCain who was full of populist ideas and fire. This 2008 guy was old, tired, and seemed out of touch. Fred Thompson has run his course and should enjoy being an elder statesman of Tennessee.

Thompson is a douche but he has a really hot wife.  I could see Thompson down the road as a spokesperson for Colonial Penn Insurance or something or maybe a walk-in bathtub.

Completed his mission by getting McCain nominated by splitting the true conservative vote.

Thompson is an intelligent guy but his old school views are way out of date. The Republican Party will not nominate someone like him in 2012.

His apathy this year when running for President has ruined his political career.

He might have a chance. But if you're going to run for office, you have to run for office.

No chance. For one thing, he looks like Frankenstein's brother, if Frankenstein had a brother who slept on park benches and consumed 2 liters of rum every day.

he had some good values and ideas, and i'd like to hear more from him before i moved him to a five-star choice, but if he can get support i'd like to hear more from him

I doubt he will ever run for the highest office again.  He wasnt the "pitbull"  the Republicans had hoped he would be.  He never exceeded expectations.

Thompson wasn't even a viable candidate in 2008. This man was a joke, and I seriously question anybody who supported him.
