It is not so much that Fox news presents a biased, pro-establishment view on current events, but that in the process they become bad journalists, bad commentators and border on dishonesty. They become bad journaists by selective coverage and showing favor to their sponsors and to the avenues of corporate authority which they purport to cover, even at the expense of their own employees (Google Jane Akre and Steve Wilson, Fox News) As they do this, they gain public favor with a vocal minority who blame government constraints for their failure to prosper economically to the extent that they desire. Fox New is almost invariably very unbiased and very honest. Granted, I'm as die-hard Republican Conservative as anyone alive, but this network is far, far more unbiased than ANY liberal-oriented network (there are too many to mention). Everyone affiliated with this show (especially O'Reilly) seems to be very intelligent also.

The American version of Al-Jezeera, no more- no less. . .

Lots of flash, sounds and pretty women. I'm sure the reporters are high school grads or they have their GED diploma. They say "we report-you decide". What could anyone possibly decide based on their reportng? Nothing of any consequence. But they are cute.

The most unprofessional group of people on one network I have ever seen, I have seen actual TANTRUMS by people on this network about what they call "sleazy Bill Clinton" and yet, they hire sleazier Newt, Geraldo, Bill O'Reilly the sex phone pervert, and that traitor Ollie North--good job people--way to impress!!

Real balanced stuff...that's why it's Dick Cheney's favorite station. At least Jamie Colby is a smoking hot fox--so is Rudi Bakhtiar. The rest of that channel should be flushed down the toilet. It's as fair and balanced as Pravda was in the old Soviet Union.

The discussion is lively and the co-hosts are appear genuinely interested informing viewers of current events in a balanced manner.

I have watched fox news some. I wouldnt necessarily say it has a conservative bias, but I did notice lack of professionalism compared to anchors on the other 2 cable news networks. The anchors seem too subjective, too personal, too casual in their reporting.

I like their actual news (which is what this show is---just news), because it seems to get the newest stories the quickest, but I think liberals aren't separating the primetime debate/commentary/talk shows from the actual news on this channel. The news is good but I agree---the debate/commentary/talk is falling over to the right!

At least here I can get away from the ultra liberal media and get a fair news report.

My favorite news channel. Although I do watch a little news on the other ones, I always come back to Fox. It's closer to being fair and balanced than any of the other networks.

I feel Fox news is doing America good. Why is Bill O'Reilly covering the Democratic Convention (on FOX)? The airwaves are for the benefit of the public, and viewers have the right to hear their convention without O'Reilly, the Bush mouthpiece, moderating every move. This is like the fox moderating the chicken rights convention. Most viewers polled are worried about the war and about health care. We need to hear our advocates discussing these issues, not defending potshots from O'Reilly. The broadcast environment now is one to filter the left side of the country for the broadcast companies' own gain or ideology. Absolute Junk. I wouldn't even call it news, this is a 24/7 advert for the Bush administration.

In my opinion, Fox News is fair and balanced...if by fair and balanced you mean horribly shifted to the right and 'limited' to the ideals of the conservative crowd in its scope and coverage. I guess if you only want to hear what you want to hear, there is no better choice than the Fox News Channel. It certainly seems to satisfy those whos minds have already been made up about the way things are, and reinforces the 'further-to-the-right' conservative opinion that their way is right and everything else is something else. Perhaps I would find them more tolerable if they were classified as 'entertainment' rather than news..Just a thought~

With some of the slickest computer graphics of any news station and a bevy of attractive female reporters, Fox News Live --while not up to the greatness of the Fox Report with Shepard Smith--is still quite good. The news coverage is fair and balanced and done with entusiasm. Some items are even done with humor and more.

Fox News is little more than the official mouthpiece for the Bush administration. It mixes pandering to sensationalism with hard right wing politics. Anyone watching it should recognize that they are watching a show with a bias and factor that into the information the network provides.

I don't believe that FOX News is biased towards a conservative pro-Bush point of view. Their only bias is towards sensasionalism and sloganeering, it keeps ratings up and the ad dollars coming in. The anchors themselves aren't conservative but the management of the station is. Roger Ailes, a Republican party operative manages the network and Rupert Murdoch, a big time Republican contributor and owner of a large media empire, founded the station. It's obvious that everyone on down to the anchors have to conform to these biases. They are biased in the respect of what they decide to report on. The reporters in general are professional and do manage to remain detached, but they overhype the terrorist threat to their advantage. They're not conservative, but just war-mongerers. To answer a question left by a previous reviewer, because more people watch one news show than another does not make it better. See argumentum ad populum on my Logical Fallacies list. Fox News is sickeningly biased, and built on the premise that it is somehow good to keep the people afraid, all the time. I wouldn't object to them so much if they admitted their bias. They could start by replacing fair and balanced with propaganda for the people, but that concept isn't in the Goebbels playbook they use.

The question is: why does Fox get more viewership than its competition? The answer should be obvious; however, the liberals will have a hard time figuring this out. It takes the ability to use reason sometimes to come to a conclusion.

Fox News is hardly as biased as most claim. While the majority of Fox programming may lean on the conservative side (i.e. The O'Reilly Factor), the actual news is reported with very little bias (no more so than CNN).

I live in australia we get Fox news as well as CNN ,CBS and BBC, we laugh in australia how incredibly biased fox is we have running jokes in australia about it, no offence but glad i am not living there.

Fox is the most ridiculous excuse for news reporting on television. They are completely biased, infair, inaccurate and right-wing motivated. Small wonder since Georgie Bush's cousin runs the company.

I used to click over and watch Fox News for laughs. Taken in moderation, their approach is moderately humorous. However, upon closer examination, their claim to report in a fair and balanced way is laughable. I had a day off from work recently, hung out with my Dad, who is a big Fox fan, and I noticed that the whole day on Fox was spent either cheerleading for George W. Bush or cheerleading for the war in Iraq. I used to be amused by Bill O'Reilly, but if he doesn't agree with somoene on his show he cuts them off or doesn't even let them get a word in edgewise. I think if there were a cable channel that was as blaringly liberal as Fox is blaringly right wing, there would be a huge outcry from the conservatives. I know some people think CNN is too liberal, but I think it has a lot more journalistic integrity than Fox does.

Fox News Live is my favorite channel, I probably watch it more than you. My interest is the Calif. Dept. of Curruption. I heard Jill Stewart awhile back and I was so impressed to hear someone finally speak the truth on this horrible system. Realizing that inmates are not a popular subject until I hear a new visitor saying that this is an awful system, I had no idea. The correctional officers do not want to let lifers go because they keep the peace, do most of the work, and cause less problems because they believe that they will someday get out. Granted many lifers should not get out but there are many that should have been deemed suitable for parole a lon time ago. The C/O's laugh and say we decide who gets out not the Govenor, we pay him. As a prison wife I can quarantee that we are all not on welfare or whatever, some of us are very educated and what we know about CDC would make people sick. If "Live" implies the reporters actually have 2 brain cells to rub together, then Live should be taken from the name. Get rid of News while you're at it. The mission of Fox is ONLY to get Bush re-elected. That's fine, everyone has their opinion, but QUIT THE CRAP about being fair and balanced. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

I feel that Fox news is very biased, and I also have noticed that fans of Fox news tend to say that Fox is the only news channel that they watch. Choosing to watch any one news channel is detrimental to your own awareness of the truth because it prevents you from getting various perspectives. The best way to stay informed is to watch a variety of news coverage. That way, you notice the way that stories are slanted, and you can decide for yourself which ones sound more biased. Generally, Fox news viewers shut out all other sources of information and label them "liberal" just because they don't happen to like what they're hearing. The best way to keep current is to get your information from a variety of sources. You wouldn't trust a journalist who was one sided- the best journalists try to get as many sources as possible. You should do the same.

It's pure entertainment becuase it's NOT fair and balanced at all! Fox is twice as "conservative" as CNN is "liberal". Everyone knows this and to deny this fact is to prove ones lack of awareness and basic honesty.

Fair and Balanced? What? Any network that lauds itself over its lack of bias cannot be trusted. It's funny reading the comments here repeating that phrase. Fair and Balanced. Fair and Balanced. GAH. Can't you even think for yourselves when you're rating a program, rather than repeating their catchphrase? No wonder FoxNews is popular. Which brings me to the next point: "We Report. You Decide". NO! They selectively report, encourage their reporters to convey the networks opinions through facial gestures, and then draw conclusions, so YOU THE VIEWER only have to nod your head, sit back, and watch more commercials - All while you feel good about yourself being more 'patriotic' than other Americans because you enjoy watching State Propaganda. Fox News Channel is where Clinton bashing has-beens go to die and resurrect themselves as hate-mongers who demonize anyone who doesn't agree with them. How refreshing. Kim Hume, the Fox News Director admitted on C-span that Fox News is not fair and balanced as many of the people who watch it are lead to believe. They have an agenda to promote the GOP point of view which is really the AEI point of view and they don't give a flying fig about you, your job, your kids, your health or your beliefs. Its about money stupid. So if your brain is too tiny to handle truth then Fox News is for you.

Every show on Fox, as I said before, is biased. Meaning that the opinions are right-wing, conservative, and in favor of the Republican party. Never does it show the opinion of a liberal, a moderate, or an anti-war demonstrator. Even if they do they don't let the liberals or moderates voice their opinions without cutting them off and reprimanding them of being anti-American and treasonous. For example, Jeremy Glick, whose father died in the Sept. 11 tragedy, came on the O'Reilly Factor to speak against the war. You would think that O'Reilly would be little more sensitive towards Glick. Instead, O'Reilly refused to let Glick finish his sentences. We all know how O'Reilly gets when someone disagrees with him. He goes berserk and almost satanic. Fox news is so different from CNN by the fact that they aren't constantly directing you to the liberal agenda. Fox News is a refreshing change from all those other relentless new channels.
