Tue Feb 22 2005Although this has a ton of great songs, it's only OK because some songs have been shortened so they can fit 40 songs on 2 discs. Beast of Burden has been shortened by a minute on here. The 1st disc is much better than the 2nd. Another problem is that they should have put in great songs such as As Tears Go By, Sittin' On a Fence, Out of Time, Time is on My Side, Play With Fire, I'm Free, Lady Jane, Heart of Stone and a few others instead of some of the crappy songs on disc 2.

Thu Nov 18 2004This is a GREAT band, but enough already with repackaging stuff that every loyal fan has had already for years! There is NO improvement of sound quality- you might as well go out and buy the ORIGINAL recordings if you don't have them yet-at least then you get all the groovy stuff that never made it to the airwaves!(which,by the way,is far superior to the few new songs they toss in to make you buy this ripoff.)

Thu Oct 23 2003The Rolling Stones definitely have talent when it comes to music. However, I feel that most of their catalog is either a hit or miss when listening to each song. This 2-CD set is a good representation of that fact.

Thu Nov 21 2002Excellent overview of the Stones career. There are a couple of songs that I don't consider to be in the same class as their "greatest", but most of the songs deserve to be on here--Satisfaction, Under My Thumb, Paint It Black, Beast of Burden, Start Me Up, Mixed Emotions, several more great ones. My main objection is the fact that they released this as a two-cd set and couldn't find room for "Time Is On My Side" or "Harlem Shuffle".
