I was sick all the time and the PA I was seeing was putting me through a battery of tests and meds and I was not improving. I changed healthcare facilities and saw Stephine Lehrner. She pegged my problem right away, first visit. She fixed me up and I have not been sick since. The office staff has always been happy, courteous and professional. Dr. Lehrner always takes the time to talk with me about how I feel and answers my questions. I never feel rushed or brushed off -- quite the opposite. I am very pleased with Forte.

I was completely unhappy with Dana Forte when I took my children there for their yearly checkup. Dana Forte, in my opinion, did not perform at the level I would expect from a family doctor. She spent most of the time gabbing about her personal life and how her husband chose her for a wife because she was tall. She babbled on like an airhead during most of the office visit barely examined my child. Her office was unable to handle the very basic task of billing our insurance company correctly. We had almost a year’s worth of headaches dealing with their billing dept. and trying to get the insurance paperwork processed correctly. If you’re a gambler, go ahead and hope for a good experience with this doctor. If I had done my research before taking my kids to her, I would never have gone after reading all the unhappy patient comments. I could have spared myself a lot of trouble and avoided a lot of anxiety. This doctor and her staff are UNPROFESSIONAL all the way around.

I moved here about 3 years ago and have shopped around for a physician with whom I could relate to. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Forte. She is courteous and compassionate. She enjoys her work and seems very competent. I had the priviledge of also meeting her Office Manager; Angela. She too was kind and considerate. She personally welcomed me to the Practice handed me a card and stated if I ever needed anything to call her, 3 weeks later I did!! She clarified my test and called me with a follow up appt. to discuss my results. What an office. A job well done. May GOD bless this office and anyone who enters it!!

I am a native Las Vegan and when my Doctor retired I found it necessary to locate a new reliable Physician. I went to Forte Family Medical and had the pleasure to work with Susan Shields a PA under the very fine Dr. Dana Forte. From My first visit I received professional and top quality medical evaluations and care. All my questions were always answered in a professional and complete manner. I never felt that I was being rushed out of the office. I was always made to feel that my medical issues were their top priority. In emergencies Forte Family Medical has two locations that accept walk-ins. I have had great professional service from Dr. Gimpus and Dr Lerhner when using the walk-in service. I have never been disappointed with any of the Professional and through medical services at the Forte Family Medical. I would recommend Susan Shields to anyone looking for a caring, qualified medical professional. Dr. Gimpus and Dr. Lerhner are also excellent medical professionals. Give Forte Fami... Read more

I can say after going to Forte Family Practice for the past few years that I have seen alot of growth. The office staff has definitely improved and love the new office. I have seen most of the doctors, PA's included, because my family and I have had to walk in a few times. Usually go to Susan Shields. After reading some of the comments, alot of which are bad, I can safely say I disagree. You can't make everyone happy so I guess the ticked off ones are more inclined to complain.

I have been seeing Susan Shields at Forte Family Practice for about 8 years. She has always been attentive of my needs. Though I agree with other raters that the previous office and staff were not the best, things have changed since they have gotten an office manager and changed to a new, larger office! I highly recommend Susan Shields.

Susan Shield, PA and Dana Forte, DO have provided quality medical care to me, my kids, and my mom for more than 7 years. I live in Henderson, but I drive the 20+ miles (one way) to Forte Family practice because the quality of care is unmatched. I am a native, and I remember the day when you went out-of-state for medical care if you had anything serious. My mom, Aggie Roberts, would go to no other practice when she became ill. Besides being great doctors, they are very compassionate people. The previous problems with the front office have been dealt with since moving to the new location. I highly recommend Susan Shields and Dana Forte!

I had been goind to see Susan Shields for about two years. Everytime I visited the office, I regretted coming. Too long waiting time. Not only that...they tried to milk your insurance. they sent the same billing code a couple of times so that they can pay somewhat. Terrible customer service. Definately, I am not going back any longer.

I have being going to Dr. Forte's office for about 2 1/2 years now. Everytime I go in the wait is at least 1 hour with a scheduled appointment. Dr, Forte herself is a self righteous women who thinks she knows it all. Her staff are rude, demeaning and down right arrogant. They don't care whether you are sick or not. I have a condition where one prescription can cost $10 and the one that Dr. Forte prescribed me cost $150. I wonder who is greasing her palms. When I am finally in the room with Dr. Forte 3 mins has been the longest time she has spent with me. I have timed it. Susan Shields is even worse. She is the meanest person I have ever met in the Medical field. No one in that office gives a hoot what your problem is or if you are dying. DO NOT SEE THIS DR, OR GO SEE ANY OTHER DR'S IN THIS OFFICE. Your life may depend on it. You would get better medical treatment in from the online dr's they now have.

I went into this office for the first time and arrived a half hour early to fill out first-visit paper work. The staff that greeted me was rude and the office was empty. After filling out the paper work I waited a half hour without anyone calling me in. I asked the incompetent receptionist where the doctor was and all I got was "Uh, I don't know, let me check." Then, the receptionist left for her lunch break and never returned. After I watched at least 7 different nurses/receptionists come in and out of the office with their fast food cups, no one called me in to see the doctor. After almost waiting an hour, and fuming, no one cared and I walked out. My boyfriend went back to the office to collect my co-pay and they didn't even have enough cash on hand to give him correct change. Wouldn't you think an office that collects co-pays would have enough cash to make change? Also, I was fiilling out so much paperwork and personal information on several different sheets. I asked the receptio... Read more

I have used the practice since 2001. I have had nothing but problems with the front office for the past 5. They are rude, incompetent and unprofessional to the extreme. the two latter I can handle, the rudeness I am done with! My wife went to a specialist they recommended, after he ordered her records, four weeks later the records were not there. She had to go watch the people fax them after the third request. These boneheads make me fill out a new sheet with all my info every time I go in. Then, they send me a letter telling me they can't reach me because my phone number is not current! Why am a filling out a sheet every three months then. Do not go to this office till they fire all their office staff!

I went to Dr. Forte about 2 months ago for the first time, and I really liked her. She seemed like she really cared. She ordered tests and bloodwork. I had to fast for the bloodwork, so I went back 2 days later. The man behind the desk told me I had to make a 20.00 co-pay. I told him I have NEVER had to make a co-pay for bloodwook and hwe told me that if I had come back in within 24 hours of my office visit, I wouldn't have had to pay! Why didn't they tell me that when I was there for my office visit! So then I had some medical tests (echocardiogram, pap smear, etc.) and waited 2 weeks and no call with the results. So I called today and I was told that I had to make a follow-up appointment to get the results, and that it is against the laws to give results over the phone. Since when? I have gotten test results over the phone from other doctors. So, I have to pay another $20.00 co-pay to get results on tests that I have already paid for??????? This is just another way they ... I have been going to Dr. Forte's office for the last 8 years, and I agree that the service hasn't always been the most efficient with this practice, and if it weren't for the great doctors i would have left a long time ago myself. However, there is a new location, and a new Office Manager on site. She is cleaning house and will actually return your calls and follows up on things. Give it a chance for all of you who have had a rough ride up until now, new Sheriff is in town friendly and reachable.

I first went to see Dr. Pearson 2 weeks ago and she explained to me my b100d work that I brought in from another office. She had me get more tests and I went back last week. She explained it to me until I understood why I needed to take my medication. I am new to diabetes and thyroid problems and I did not get any information from my old doctor so I never took the medications. I will now! I read the reviews and I was afraid to go there but I needed a second opinion. I will only see her and I will send my parents and friends in to. She is incredible not bad looking either.

I had an appointment to see Cathaline who is a physician assistant last Friday. I am so happy to see that they moved into the new office. It was long overdo, they never had enough room to keep on time. The wait was not as long as usual the front office staff seemed a bit better. I hear they finally hired an office manager. Thank the Lord! If it weren't for Cathaline I wouldn't go there. She has been my doc since I moved here from Michigan over 3 years ago. I have seen a few other Dr's they were OK but non like her she is very thorough, very straight forward and she has a great sense of humor. She will personally call me back (if she gets the message) even on her days off. Cathaline treats me as if I was a friend. I pray that things will improve with the rest of the staff. Her new assistant Richard seems nice too.

I have had just about the worst experience with not only the front office staff, but also with the phone calls. When you go into Forte Family Practice they are the most rude people I have encountered. They don't even look up to say hello and they act like they hate there job. My appointment was for Noon and I signed in 5 min early; it took them over 30 min to call my name so I can get checked in, then I found out that I have to update my paper work which I already did in Jan. I filled it out again then it took another 30 min's to call my name. I finally got back to see Cathaline 1 hour after my scheduled appointment. She's not late it's the front office staff who is keeping her behind. Also, trying to get through on the phone to make an appointment or to get any results is like squeezing blod from a turnup. Your on constant hold or they hang up on you. FORGET IT! I walk in now to make appointments or get what I need when Cathaline is working. That is the only way to get ... Read more

My husband and I have been a patients of Dr. Forte's since mid 2008. I agree that her staff is not the friendliest but I am not there to see them. They could be more welcoming, without a doubt. However, if you are someone who wants to get to the bottom of a problem that no one else has properly diagnosed YOU MUST BE SEEN BY DR. FORTE. She has superior diagnostic skills, bedside manner and listens and interacts with her PATIENTS as long as it takes!!! When was the last time YOUR CURRENT DOCTOR SPENT more than 2 minutes with you, no matter how serious your problem was? I would reccommend her to anyone wanting a REAL PERSON as their Doctor and trust her with my life, literally. Rainbow Office Patient......

I've been going to Dr. Forte for almost ten years. I have hyperthyroidism that gets out of whack and becomes hypo once in a while. Dr. Forte has seen me through it all with pregnancy, insurance issues, and just plain hard headedness because I don't want to see any specialist here for my thyroid. But Dr. Forte and her team has been able to manage my issues. And I love the fact that her team of doctors can always provide the same kind of service when she's not available. Especially Susan who has been with her for so long. Since they have changed staff it hasn't been the same. But I'd still rather go there and wait the hours than see someone else. After all, no one's perfect.

There is much truth to what you read regarding Forte's front office staff being rude, the phone call situation and the long waits. When I moved from New York 5 years ago I went to about 4 different doctors and I didn't like any of them. I have been a patient of Fortes for about 3 years now and I must say once you get in the back and see the physicians you are treated like a family member or a friend. I used to see Dr. Forte until she became too busy. I now see Cathaline who is a PA and I must say she is impeccable and straight forward. I need someone who shoots straight from the hip. True, one has to wait long at times and it is very aggravating, but now I understand why. Last week I held her room up for over 45 min because I could not breath and I needed to have breathing treatment's, if it weren't for Cathaline's persistence in treating me I would have been in the hospital. It is unfortunate that they are not yet in the new office where I'm told they will have more rooms ava... Read more

Have been going to Dr. Forte's office for a very short time and won't be returning after I get my test results. I have been seeing a PA in the office and I truly like this individual but unfortunately, the front desk and a few of the other staff are little to be desired. When you call your on indefinate HOLD, the front office acts as if your phone call just doesn't really matter (i'm not looking for a full blown conversation on how i'm doing), I just want to: 1. Make an appointment 2. Get my test results I don't know but the last time I checked that's what the front office is supposed to do!! They speak of other patients in the office as if no one can hear them and isn't there a HIPPA Law?? Well, I don't know about others but I certainly don't want them to launder my personal information out there for everyone else to hear. I have seen them rudely turn patients away that are walk-ins instead of letting them know in a kind way the wait time for a Dr. to let them make the deci... Read more

Dr Dana Forte has been my doctor for 12 years and for that 12 years I have felt comfortable & secure knowing she is but a phone call away. She has treated just about everyone in my family and they all have the same respect & admiration for her as I do. I trust her with my life and the lives of my family. Dr. Forte WAS my wife's doctor, and I say WAS because one day, I needed to see a doctor and so I went (normally, I'm never sick and never need it...) She knew very well who my wife was - her client! - and threw herself at me nonetheless! And we are NOT talking innocent flirting here: we're talking all out indecent propositioning! This woman is the aggressive self-assured type who isn't used to a "no, thank you" and does not take being turned down very well, either! How shocking!

I have been going to Dr. Forte's office for the last couple of years, however, my husband and daughter have been going for there for over 5 years. We are not newcomers to this practice. We normally see Susan Shields, PA and have been very happy with her up until lately. I believe she works 3 part-time jobs and this may be the problem. She is very hard to get in touch with, especially when HAND DELIVERED NOTES, PHONE MESSAGES and FAXES aren't being given to her. I feel like both offices need all new staff. I switched from the Cheyenne office to the Rainbow office (clear across town) because the wait was too long and the office staff inept. I have been going there since March of this year (2008). Almost this entire time they have not had my file there. First they said it was because I started at the Cheyenne office. So, I told them that I'd be coming to Rainbow from now on. Forte Family Practice is bar far the worst doctors? office I've ever been to or heard about for that matter. I've been a patient for 4 years and it has never gotten better in fact every visit I find myself thinking I'm out of my mind for coming here. I am now looking for a new doctor and wouldn?t recommend this office to anyone. The staff PERIOD is horrible. The front office is about as organized as a pre-school at recess time, every physician and assistant I've seen have not given me a warm fuzzy feeling about anything. They are obviously in a hurry and unconcerned about a proper diagnosis. Their refill procedures are the worst in the city, I've been to 3 different pharmacies as soon as I mention who my doctor is they grumble and complain that they are impossible to deal with. I and my pharmacy have requested a refill of my medicine 5 times in 3 weeks and still no response. My family and I were seen here back in February 2008 when we had just moved into town. It is now September 2008, and our bills FINALLY were paid through our insurance a few weeks ago. Why you ask? Because the idiots at Forte Family Practice could not follow the easy instructions of completing names and birthdays correctly. Plus, they also managed to withold valuable, and very simple, information like "does the patient need any follow ups", so our insurance wasn't able to process the claims. In all honesty, they are the worst. It has been a serious headache, because for one, billing is never available at this family practice, they all seem to take very long vacations every month. Two, they NEVER call a person back, no matter how many messages are left. Three, I was never called back with my lab results, simple lab results, in which I had to pay a hefty price to get the lab work done in the first place. The doctor my husband saw was a dingbat, the doctor my children and I saw answered he... Read more

I went to the office for the first time and I was not impressed by the girl at the window. I was going to be seven minutes late because of a wreck so I called to let them know. The person who answered the phone was rude and nasty telling me that everyone else could get there thirty minutes early then so could I, and I would have to wait an additional 45 minutes if I wanted to be seen. [ just nasty about it] I went the next day to get some lab work and sat while fasting for about 40 minutes waiting to give my specimen only to be instructed rudely that I did not give her the proper lab sheet when I signed in [ shoot me I did not know to do this she never asked for it]. So setting aside the staff that belongs in a Sienfield episode along with the crazy resturant guy, the Doctor was cool, did what he needed to do and no complaints. The guy that took my specimen was very patient and professional. If you can get by the Gestapo at the window then all is good.

I have been going to Forte Family Practice for 3 years now and due to a health condition, I go almost monthly. And yes I have waited, but as a previously stated by another reviewer, they take time with each patient and such personal service does take time. I don't mind the wait; good Doctors are very hard to find in Las Vegas. I must add Cathaline Pearson is an exceptional PA, if you are seen by her, count yourself fortunate to be seen by such a caring individual. About the staff and their rudeness, the only rudeness I have witnessed is the patients that walk in and are talking on their cell phone while the receptionist is trying to get their information and act like they are being impositioned by putting away their phone or they left their car running and ran in to pickup a prescription and it's not handed to them immediately and they get upset. This is not Taco Bell and I would not want my medical care done hastily.

The rainbow office was better once you were taken back for your appointment I think the girls name is Ruth she is THE RUDEST employee Dr. Forte has. Joanne and Emy are vey nice and know what they are doing. Joanne always takes the time to make me special. The office staff act like they are doing you a favor by talking to you. The prescription refill policy for this office is bizarre, to say the least. They refuse to deal with pharmacies. They do not accept faxes from pharmacies and they often ignore messages left by pharmacies on the phone. They will not fax prescriptions to the pharmacies and require every patient to pick up refill prescriptions from their office and deliver them to the pharmacy themselves. I get this information from my pharmacist who says they are the worst office to deal with. I have nothing but respect for Dr. Forte. She is one of the better doctors in the Las Vegas Valley but, her inability to manage her business may not be worth the effort to stay with her. There are other primary care doctors whose office staff do not dictate the way things are done.

MY FAMILY HAS BEEN SEEN IN THIS PRACTICE FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. MY HUSBAND HAS A HEART CONDITION AND DIABETIES JUST TO NAME A COUPLE OF HIS MEDICAL PROBLEMS. MY SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD HAS HIS PROBLEMS AND HAS AN ADDICTIVE NATURE, ME WELL I'M AS NORMAL AS I CAN BE FOR A WOMAN MY AGE. ALL I CAN TELL YOU ABOUT THE DOCTORS AND NURSES IS THAT THEY ARE WORTH THE WAIT. THEY LISTEN! AND TAKE TIME WITH EACH PATIENT AND THAT IS WHY YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT TO BE SEEN, HOWEVER YOU WILL RECEIVE THE SAME TIME WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN. THEY HAVE HELPED BOTH MY HUSBAND AND CHILD ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER AND THEY COULD HAVE GONE HOME ON TIME IF THEY HAD JUST REFFERRED US TO THE ER. BUT THEY DIDN'T! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE DOCTORS AND NURSES AT THIS FACILITY. I'D RECOMMEND ANYONE GIVE THEM A TRY!
