Sat Apr 25 2009My favorite sport. I would rate it perfect if I liked the NFL more. College football is more exciting. Look at my rate on college football. I do, watch the NFL, just don't care about it as much because of all the hype and greedy millionaires.

Fri Dec 19 2008American football is one of the most interesting sports for sure. Combining strategy, physical prowess, and lots of excitement. My biggest annoyance watching football though is all the stoppages and slowed down game play due to commercials, penalties, reviews, etc.

Wed Jul 30 2008You have to love it! Hard hitting, sweaty, fast paced.....yep!!! The BEST! Go Chargers :)

Sun Feb 24 2008The best tv sport...action but not so fast you can't follow it. Fun to go to games for the atmosphere, but I love football on tv.

Fri Aug 10 2007While it's not my favorite sport, part of the reason I love it is because it's a great way to spend time with my buddies (the girlfriend doesn't like sports), and sometimes you just want to watch an intense, action-packed contact sport. Plus, it's a pretty unpredictable game, so that keeps you watching.

Sat May 19 2007As an Australian i dont mind NFL ( GO BEN GRAHAM) but it is boring compared to Aussie Rules , it is too stop/start and relies too much on video replay. If rule changes were made to quicken up the game it would be much better to watch.Plus you Americans have to grow some balls and get rid of the padding.

Fri May 04 2007UPDATED 05/04/2007 The more I watch this game the more I fall in love with it. I love the hype, love the game plays and love to watch a running back run through the line and get long yardage!American Football is a great game, but unfortunately it is not the most watched game. (That in itself says allot.) You cannot compare it to others, as it is a game in itself! I have two gripes and that is the slogan; world champions (Super Bowl) If it was worldwide, then you would have every country in it! Second is the that it is rough, Rugby, Australian rules football, Soccer, and more have more injuries with little or no protection! Love the game and watch it on a regular basis, much to my wifes disgust. (Then again she hates most sports.)

Fri May 04 2007superb sport (and my personal favorite). it will continue to blow everything else away for many decades to come.......... oh, and rugby aint got sh*t on footbol american. american football is gaining in world popularity, there are leagues in europe and even japan....give it another 10 years or so and youll see it as an olympic sport.

Fri May 04 2007Football is the sport for me. I have a fair knowlege of it but have never been big enough for for it. At least I can say that my Madden playbook got banned on ship after I spanked the helicopter squadron's Madden ace by about 30.

Fri May 04 2007A great sport, particularly when played at the top high school and college level. I sometimes find the NFL a touch mundane, and prefer my TV football fix on Saturday rather than Sunday. Best of all, I like Friday nights at the local high school games. On a side note, the slight variations on the game as played in the Canadian Football league (three downs, wider and longer field, 12 men) make for a much more wide open and exciting game than the NFL. Having said all that, I love the game, wherever played, and despite my occasional malaise with the NFL, seldom fail to watch.

Wed Mar 28 2007the best sport.

Mon Mar 12 2007It's been a while since I have play football, but it was fun. I preferred tackle football! Not flag football that two hand touch game you played in grade school P.E. That full on, your ass is on the ground after your 300 lbs friend just leveled you type football! (never played for a team, just with friends after school)

Sun Mar 11 2007Best sport period Amen pass the collection plate!

Wed Jan 24 2007The NFL is cool but sometimes I think its too random. A team can look unstopable one week and lose to the Detroit Lions the next week. Last year the Steelers won the Super Bowl but this year they dont even make the playoffs. That makes the champions look weak. I would hope that the former Super Bowl champs could at least make the playoffs.

Tue Nov 21 2006its nothing like a real mans sport. to cocky too
by limpin_trenchfoot
Fri Jun 23 2006You people call this a sport? It's a big girl's blouse version of rugby except there's hardly any continuous play and the moves are pre-planned. Where's the spontaneity? There was a minority channel here in the UK broadcasting NFL games back in the '80s but people soon lost interest.

Fri May 19 2006The Superbowl may be the biggest US sporting and television event, but baseball is still the biggest sport in America. Take all of the large market cities that have at least three sports franchises and I bet most of them have a baseball team as their most popular. New York? The three most popular teams are the Yankees, Mets and then the Giants. Boston? It is the Red Sox. San Fran? The Giants. Chicago? The Cubs. Atlanta? The Braves. Los Angeles' most popular team is probably the Lakers, but the Dodgers draw 4 million every year. How many football teams have came and left LA? The Chargers? The Rams? The Raiders? The most marketable person in the NFL is probably Peyton Manning. Is he more marketable or more recognizable than Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds? I don't think so. America's five most popular sports are Baseball, Football, college football, college basketball, and Nascar.

Sat Mar 18 2006Six billion people don't care about this type of sports. Six billion people can't be wrong.

Sun Mar 12 2006i know how to play football, both canadian and american, and, frankly, canadian is a lot more fun
by ih8rateitall
Sat Mar 11 2006It's the real America's pastime. We are America, and we love women, rock and roll, and football!
by gatiw0a3
Wed Mar 08 2006It encourages violence and is very dangerouse. It is fun to watch but very dangerouse to play - like boxing. I think that two-hant touch should be played professionally since it is much safer.

Fri Feb 24 2006football F***ing rocks yeah

Fri Jan 06 2006biggest most overpayed bunch of girls in a sport on the planet, youve got more chance of ACTUAL physical contact in badminton, plus they rarely kick the ball(and one of your best kickers is an aussie rules player) but they make great commercials dont they! pad me up like that and id let mike tyson in his prime have a go, its rugby with protection and rugby is soft enough, except for the olympics americans are crap and soft in sport(and the olympics is just whoever has the best undetectible drugs wins) play a real footy code then join the rest of the world until then keep the housewives off the sports fields.

Tue Jun 21 2005This sport is a great sport and i love to watch i will watch it all weekend friday- high school, saturday-college and sometimes nfl, sunday- nfl, monday-monday night football. i love this sport and it is fun to play you have to be in real shape to play and it is risky to play you could get hurt seriously and any one who says it is gay it isnt the only reason they say that is because they dont understand
by razzab57
Mon Mar 21 2005Why do Americans insist on calling it football, the ball almost never touches the foot. Come to think of why do they call it a sport, all it is is advertising. Most phsysical sport around, not at all, rugby & Aussie Rules Fooy far tougher, American Footballers wear protective gear like women!
by nacreous
Sun Mar 13 2005I was raised on it so I love it, but, objectively, it's the world's most boring sport next to cricket. It consists mostly of nothing happening, with occasional bursts of brief activity. I taped an entire Super Bowl in which I edited out everything except the time the ball was actually in play: the tape was 19 minutes long.
by chriso1981
Sat Jan 08 2005Definitly the best sport to watch on TV
by sktmps
Fri Jan 07 2005Till a franchise lands in Canada or elsewhere other than U.S., can't get credit that MLB & NBA gets. Otherwise the CFL has more exciting games on avg than NFL. Super Bowl can be either boring or exciting depending on the score

Sat Jan 01 2005If not Basketball, Football could be America's Pasttime. This Sport is unique to the USA with few countries that even attempt to play it, which makes it very American. It's a Sport that clicks with us as well. Football is a lot like War - violent, attacking, planning, brute strength and lots of injuries. You have to be tough to play it and many warlike references are part of the game- Attack the Red Zone, Kill the clock, March downfield, Sack the Quarterback etc... With all that, the game appeals to many , even women. It's played out in three hours , meaning watching it becomes an event, as does going to a game and tailgating or watching it on any given Saturday or Sunday in the Fall. Football also is great with the Super Bowl, an event that has become a Holiday unto itself. There's a loyalty and social aspect to whomever your team is that is deeper than any other Sport. When you're a fan on a Football team, that is YOUR team and you live and die with them. That's the sign of a Great S... Read more

Tue Dec 28 2004A slow and uneventful game with too many stoppage time, time outs, long decision making, a game where field players with large stomachs are told what to do by the coaches etc on the sidelines, players cannot do what they want, like pawns on a chess board. A game that was derived from rugby, actually an original rugby game gone wrong with crazy silly rules, seems like each team has an army of players with 95 per cent of them not ever touching the ball, amazing to watch a snap and then see everyone run around like headless chickens away from the ball play and diving meaninglessly all over the place for no reason at all, got to be one of the all time awful game to watch. Best part of this sport is Tail gating The players look like they have all been tail gating before each game, never seen a sport with men that have such large stomachs hanging over their pants, what a sight for sore eyes, wow what kind of sport is this, some of these guys could go into Sumo wrestling with no problem, got ... Wed Dec 15 2004After giving it try after try, American Football can no longer hold my interest in any shape, form, or fashion. Was I looking forward to any of the bowl games this month--no, instead, I was more excited for NBC's Verizon Ice 2004, which feature Luge, Bobsled, Skeleton and the fascinating sport of Curling. One problem with American football is the presentation. The constant commercial breaks at every stoppage in play is highly annoying and serves to break the immersion. The halftime shows are no longer shown--except of course, for a certain memorable extent. The logos, graphics, themes, and scoreboxes are dreadfully dull compared to the ones used in the Olympics. And, the sport itself is just boring. If more ways to score were introduced (negative points for being sacked, points for interception, etc.) then perhaps it could be somewhat more interesting. In the meantime, the Super Bowl is officially the most overrated sporting event of all time. And, now, excuse me while I countdown for ... Read more

Wed Dec 15 2004Umm..Skizero---I think you have the wrong impression of most girls...Sure, no girl wants a guy with a beer sitting on his gut, cussing at her to move out of the way when he's watching sports, but lord---you make all guys out to be pigs. As a girl, I find it kind of repulsive when a guy is not into sports--it's probably because sports are associated with manliness, and sorry, but in the end a girl wants a real man...Sinatra is great and all, but I'm happy that my guy can follow a football game instead of croon to Sinatra. This wifey watches the games-- she doesn't go for the guys who have misplaced their testosterone.

Wed Dec 15 2004the gayest thing on television. nothing like watching a big bunch of guys in tight lycra pants knocking into each other....oh, i'm sorry, tackling each other. i can just imagine most guys on a sunday, sitting down with their beers and ham sandwiches just waiting for football to start so that they can finally get it up for the week, while their wives are ignored and are probably out banging someone else. you football guys, whenever i see your wives at the Mall or at the park on Sunday, i make sure to come on real suave. a lot of married chicks like guys like that. they say: My husband is home watching football and i hate football. I say: That's okay, baby, b/c Skizero is here to take care of you. I'm sorry your husband is gay. maybe he's be happier if you put on pads and lycra, grew a beard, and tackled him. she says: Do you like Beer and Ham Sandwiches. I say: Baby, i like beer. but i like beer with my Sinatra or Verdi. not w/Football. I could care less about Ham Sandwiches. But Pizza ... Read more

Wed Nov 10 2004One of the greatest american games ever. The force of bodys colliding over a football is amazing. These athlets are getting payed top dollar to acheve a superbowl ring.

Sat Aug 07 2004It's more fun to play pickup Football because organized football is to hard to understand, I'm good at tackleing though.

Thu Jul 15 2004It's difficult to believe that even serious fans are as enthusiastic as they once were.Three-four hundred pounders have become a necessity and aside from great natural athletic talent, steroids are always a suspicion, as well as health problems after retirement.
