Mon Jul 04 2011Tastes like brake fluid strained through compost. This no more resembles real coffee than Adam Sandler resembles Laurence Olivier, or Lady Gaga resembles Ella Fitzgerald.

Sat Jul 02 2011I was thinking how bad this shit tasted (Folgers 100% Colombian (medium dark) as I read through Ridge's review. Too fucking funny. I'd wake up early every morning, pour a cup and out the door I went. I was always in the shower when the wife was brewing the pot, I rarely even knew what brand I was drinking. Well, nowadays, lets just say that I'm buying my own coffee. My first choice (Folgers 100% Colombian (medium dark) was a fucked up choice.

Fri Jul 01 2011So, you find yourself in the coffee aisle at your favorite food museum. To the right are bins of roasted coffee beans. To the left are cans, jars and an assortment of vacuum-packed products. You’re mulling over the various exotic flavors and amazing aromas from all over the world, but there’s a disconnect, because you don’t know what you would do with them if you took some of them home with you. Kinda like admiring the fish in a pet store; they’re beautiful, but you don’t have anything in place at home to accommodate any of them. Flipping for an aquarium can set you back a few bucks and then you have a lot of learning to do. But, coffee is different, you cheap bastard. If you have a coffee maker at home, then you have filters. A basic coffee mill (a grinder) will set you back around 15 bucks. A decent French Press…10 bucks more. For that amount of money and with next to no additional investment in time, few things will change your life and outlook more than going with fresh ground coff... Read more

Tue Nov 23 2010Not bad, I like their dark coffee like Black Silk and their Brazilian coffee. Their regular coffee is fine. Their Decaf is not that bad either. I buy and drink Folger's when I want to save money and when I can buy it on sale and with cupons. Their instant coffee is OK but I don't really care for it.

Sat Jul 25 2009When I am not buying the generic brands ( to save money) , I grab some of this stuff.

Wed Jan 14 2009Not a fancy, gourmet coffee, but has a nice smooth taste and aroma and is very reasonably priced.

Sat Oct 25 2008I guess you could say that Folgers has become more of a family tradition since it is all that my grandparents, parents, and myself will drink as far as coffee goes. I prefer their French Roast, Breakfast Blend, and/or Half-caff, but all of them are better than the $5/cup Starbucks or Caribou in my opinion.

Wed May 21 2008The only Folgers offering that I enjoy is French Roast. Their other varieties are barely tolerable or awful. The 'classic' light roasts all suffer from inconsistency and can range from flavorless to brutally bitter.

Mon Jan 07 2008Folgers is not a very flavorful coffee. It lacks any kind of rich flavors and the aroma is actually lacking. It does, however, have an incredible caffeine kick. In the early morn' I will brew this (when I could eat crap and not taste it) but anything latter in the day will not be folgers. I have found many older folk think it has an aroma and flavor, but that comes from years of drinking it. It also been voted the worst tasting coffee for many years and years.

Tue Jun 06 2006It's good but I like Maxwell House much better.

Tue Jun 06 2006The taste is good. I do drink Folgers Coffee from time to time, but actually, it depends on what's on sale at the time.

Tue Mar 28 2006Stinks! I am a former European with a good "coffee" experience. Folger which I drink in my big computer company is awful. I feel sick and tired after drinking that ...toilet stuff! I think they take from beans some valuble substans for pharmacy company. The rest is what we drink. I sure it is not healthy to drink.

Fri Jan 06 2006Folgers is one of the best name brand coffees available, i drink about two pots of this stuff a day. Really wakes you up, i like it stronge- i like it so stronge when you drink it, it feels like someone just punched you in the mouth. Now thats great coffee, 5 stars!

Sat Nov 19 2005I really don't know what happened to taste and quality of your coffee, but it's gone in the toilet. My father has drank folgers for as long as I can remember and he said he's baught his last container of folgers.

Sat Nov 19 2005If you don't grind the beans yourself, the coffee blows dead goats. . .

Fri Mar 18 2005The worst of the big name pre ground coffee's, I prefer Maxwell House over this.

Fri Aug 20 2004My wife and I are both coffee drinkers, and the only coffee we drink is Folgers. Believe me when I say that I have tried almost every brand available, but I always come back to Folgers. It's the coffee my parents drank many years ago, and my mother still drinks it. You might say it's a family tradition. The aroma of a fresh brewed pot is just about the best way to wake up. I like my coffee strong and black, and unlike other brands such as Hills Brothers or Maxwell House it doesn't have a bitter taste when made strong. My wife and I both appreciate that. We'll just continue with Folgers. like the saying goes If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Mon Jun 14 2004This stuff starts as green beans in the cans and essentially rots to a brown color. Drinking this swill is a criminal act. Putting this brand on the any list suggests it might be coffee - it is sawdust. Mrs. Olsen slipped you one!

Tue Jun 08 2004not as good as Hill Bros or Max House but i serve it when i have guest i don't want to waste the good stuf on

Tue May 18 2004I have also noticed a change in Folgers in recent years. Mountain grown has become mountain groan. I keep a box of Folgers singles for when I want only one cup, but I have since switched to Maxwell House Columbian Supreme.

Mon May 17 2004Years ago Folger's coffee was a quality product. Today, if you a lucky, you may get a good 12 ounce bag of their beans about 20% of the time. I have called their toll free number and discussed this with the person that represents FOLGERS. There seems to be a lack of quality control due to the poor quality of coffee that I get almost every time I purchase thier product. Some of the beans have been bad enough that I have returned them to the store where I purchased them. I have also tried email and with both means of discussion all I have recieved is fancy double talk where they try to put a spin on my complaints. On several of my complaints they tried to make it fall back on me because I had a dirty coffee maker, or the water I used to make the coffee with was of poor quality, I didn't measure correctly, etc....I live in Memphis Tn. where we have some of the highest quality water in the world..I use a measuring spoon to make coffee and only 20% of the time do I get good coffee. When I ... Read more

Thu Jan 15 2004I had to change my rating on this one. I tried Folgers slow roast today, it is really good. I think I might even like it a little more than Maxwell house master blend. No crystals in this one, pure coffee, good color, good smell, good taste. Good stuff.

Sat Jan 03 2004A great, smooth tasting coffee that I enjoy almost every morning nowadays. Usually you can get FOLGERS on sale, which is always a great thing as coffee is getting so expensive. I absolutely love the smell of Folgers, too. It is the perfect smell to wake up to in the morning. I also love the new Folger's containers with the handle thing, those are awesome, no more coffee spills !
by resisobilus
Mon Jul 14 2003It's held on despite all the heavy new competition because it's consistently smooth and rich.
by andrewscott
Tue Jul 08 2003It's okay, but I wouldn't mind them secretly replacing these "crystals" with some higher quality coffee beans!

Thu May 29 2003Folgers-Classic Roast instant coffee is decent for being 'instant.' The granules are natural looking: small, dark, and fresh. Notwithstanding the slightly cereal flavor, the taste is full and rich and dark and the aroma is great. Also, a decent caffeine 'high' for being instant. Recommended along with Nescafe's instant types. Steer away from Tasters Choice and Maxwell House sh*t.

Thu Nov 07 2002I'm more of a capucino person than a coffee person, but if I drink any I want it to be Folgers. I have to have mine with some sweetener, though. Can't stand it black.
by jason1972
Fri Nov 01 2002A longtime sentimental favorite. This is what I started drinking coffee to because my mom drank it. But there are coffees out there that are just as good.

Thu Nov 29 2001Folger's coffee is kinda good, but the real coffee is Maxwell House. Folger's is ok, but you have to have it with alot of sugar and alot of milk to get rid of that"sour"taste that's in some cheaper coffee's. I am a coffee addict and I have to have sweet coffee, folger's is ok for all you who like your coffee not that sweet, but you have to put alot of milk and sugar in it to have it taste good. everyone has different tastes and I mostly prefer Maxwell House and coffehouse-style coffee.

Tue Jul 04 2000I love Folgers. We have been getting the Vanilla and Hazelnut Beans and it is terrific. The beans are fresh and flavorful. The Folgers beans are also much less expensive than the other brands, but give equal if not superior quality.

Thu May 18 2000Remember what happened to New Coke. We have always used folgers coffee, and they have changed their recipe, leaving all of us loyal customers searching for a new brand.
