The owner, Jeffrey Loria, is a jewish art collector art from New York who bought the Expos in 1999 at a quarter of their price as a gift to his son in law David Samson. He couldn't get montrealer's bucks to build him a new stadium so he sold them to the league for 120 million bucks, they became the Washington Nationals and then the league sold him the Marlins for 158 milions but with a 38.5 million no-interest loan from MLB.

They're awful. And now they want to trade the centerpiece of the team away (Miguel Cabrera). And they fired Joe Girardi.

Yet another fire sale has come and gone. This team will probably not even be there several years from now. Despite that, they have won 2 Series.

An outstanding rotation with Burnett,Willis,Beckett,Vargas, and Moehler. Todd Jones deserves to be a contender for the Comeback Player of the Year Award and Miguel Cabrera will develop into one of the league's best hitters. I'm pulling for them to win the wild card.

Pitching, pitching and more pitching. They don't hit the long ball but they can hit for average. Wild Card.

Do you think having Al Leiter on the team is gonna help the Marlins chances? Perhaps, perhaps not. Who knows where this bunch is going? They're unpredictable and who knows if they're gonna make another great playoff run like they did two years ago.

Didn't they just win the World Series? And now they're at .500? Unacceptable.

The Florida Marlins are a great team! They have the best pitching staff in the Majors. They are scrappy and will win with speed and defense. They do not rely on the long ball to win games. They lost 2 offensive players in Dereck Lee and Pudge and are still in first place and headed to yet another playoff birth. They are going to repeat with another World Series championship, I really feel that way. Good for them they deserve it, they have no players who have big egos, just simple guys who want to win, and play hard everyday that's what a championship is all about. They also have a good skipper in Jack McKeon! Go Marlins!!

This was a tough World Series. Even though i LOVE my Yankees, the Marlins put up quit a fight. The Marlins are a great team that made it all the way with young guys, new GM, and earned 2 World Series titles. For me too, it WAS hard watching the Marlins celebrating in Yankee Stadium on OUR field. Yankees are still number one in my heart and always will be. Truthfully, i was rootin for the Marlins on the NL side during the playoffs shhh... but Yankees all the way during the World Series.. i cant believe im saying this but...congrats Marlins...congrats

Adding Ivan will help, and the young pitching will get better and better as time goes on.

Atleast they have a world series in the last 10 years. Not too many teams can say that. Since then they have always seemed like potential, and not results.

There is a lot of potential in the Marlins. They have been getting better every season since 1998. I don't think they will be a World Series caliber team anytime soon, but give them another two seasons and they may be playoff caliber. Their games are fun, even though they lose more than win.

Team is fun and young, unfortunately full of injuries.

Hopefully they will no longer be a farm team for the rest of MLB teams. Some of the younf players that they have dealt for in the recent past should prove this year if they are the real deals or busts.

The Marlins are the worst team in baseball because they bought the World Series and sold it off for a bunch of scrubs

There are a lot of good young players on this team. Preston Wilson will be a superstar one day and I expect them to be challenging the likes of the Braves and the Mets bu the 2001 season.
