Changing animation styles and artists, hilarious story line and addictive music. This 6 episode show stands out as the strangest thing to become a hit outside Japan. Used panty vending machines are next. Gross.

I was to strict when rated this earlier and after watching it I didn't really get it but I did find it very funny and the animation was really well detailed and pretty.

If it weren't for it being short, it would've been higher. It is very funny and the music is addictive. But its just so short. 6 eps.

The music in it is awesome (Yay The Pillows!) but the story line is a bit confusing but how many animes have people run you over w/ vespas and attack you w/ guitars?

I know some hate this anime with all of there heart, but I really do like it,because I am one of the few that understand the meaning of it. Naota represents the average kid, Mamimi represents the person that depense on you, Haruko is the person that you depend on, and Kanti is the person that you help and helps you. when Haruko, Mamimi, and Kanti leave at the end means you can do anything on your own.

Very weird anime. Some people get into this one, but it doesn't stir the Kool-aid enough for my taste.

Obviously a show playing to the devoted Otakus with its ludicrously overstated facial expressions and numerous obscure in-jokes. The two central female characters (particularly the maniacally grinning Haruko-san who is both alluring and intimidating) in this tale are genuinely the two most unpredictable characters I've ever seen presented, anywhere. The central male protagonist seems to typify the role of straight man to the intensely strange people surrounding him but having said that, he does genuinely evolve exactly like I'd expect an angst ridden adolescent to. A feverish and frenzied mix of different art styles are tucked into the two hour running time mix which are wonderfully animated (dig the actual 360 degree slow motion panning in the first episode). Believe it or not this works out to a wonderfully original and genuinely unexpected conclusion. An assault on the typical storyline formulae for this genre, it's rare we are treated with such a complex enigma to decipher (warning... Read more

FLCL is the best anime yet! Best story line, (if you can't follow it, you're sad.), and did I mention The Pillows rule? Oh yea!

I love the seeming randomness and the style of the show. The music is great as well.

It's crazy, but it's a lot of fun to watch. The Pillows rock too!

Ugh. I hate these goofy anime that seem to exist for no clear reason, have no statement to make, and only succeed in alienating otaku still further from others in society. I'm disturbed by underclassmen friends of mine who love Fooly Cooly precisely because it makes no sense and is difficult for the average viewer to enjoy. It's a silly, silly show and is undeserving of the praise it's received. Maybe being a tokusatsu man allows me to see the stupid aspects of anime that the kids just can't. Maybe I'm just cynical. Either way, I stand behind my rating.
