Pop-jazz musician Chuck Mangione added some disco production style to his repertoire, resulting in the monster instrumental "Feels So Good". While Mangione is the named artist on the flugelhorn, it's the disco backbeat and guitar that really propelled the single to #4 (16 weeks total on the pop chart in 1978). The full-length album version is almost ten minutes long, as Mangione, Grant Geissman (lead guitar), and Chris Vadala (sax) exchange solo duties, which ultimately drags a bit; therefore, the tighter 7" edit is the way to go.

Probably the sole reason non-muscians know what a fluglehorn is, Chuck Mangione gave us this is a good light jazz piece. Still good dental/doctor office waiting room music.
