It seems that all throughout its history, the FBI has been used to destroy our rights and stage secret and illegal investigations.

The idea of the Federal Bureau of Investigation looks good on paper and sounds novel to the Ameican people, but my god, have these people done anything good other than "protecting" the United States from terrorists? Several incidents such as Ruby Ridge and Waco show just how competent the FBI is in carrying out the law. Hundreds of documents were withheld in the McVeigh case, not to mention the FBI documents that are sealed until 2038 regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This is a seriously corrupt agency that either needs to be placed under reform or disposed of.

The FBI are nothing more than a rogue paramilitary group with no respect for the rights that we trust them with witholding. Now the congress has granted them even more powers to violate our civil rights. As Ben Franklin said,"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

A highly corrupt organization that has done more bad than good.

They've had their share of blatant criminal action that has been recorded in their own documentations. They've done some good though, I feel.

I rate this agency very high to help rid our country from many of the terrorists who are on our soil now. Not only foreign threats, but also the common criminals roaming our streets causing fear in public as well in these troubled times.

These are the "good guys"? They have been at the forefront of the assualt on our supposedly inviolable rights. They needlessly murdered 80 people at Waco. One of their "Hostage Rescue Team" snipers managed to squeeze off a round that killed an innocent woman with her baby in her arms at Ruby Ridge. Some rescue. Lon Horiuchi, the aforementioned sniper, admitted under oath that he saw Vicki Weaver's head in his scope before he pulled the trigger. These are not "public servants". These are thugs doing the bidding of an out of control, and increasingly tyrranical government.

I guess you have to classify the FBI as a necessary evil as their mission is to uphold the federal law and investigate federal criminal cases. They are also responsible for protecting the U.S. from terrorist. For all this I thank them greatly for their time and service. It has become quite apparent over the past few years that the line of justice they are called to protect has become very blurred with questionable results. There has been Ruby Ridge, Waco, Wen Ho Lee, the recent allegation that FBI agent Robert Hanssen was a spy, and now over 3,000 documents were withheld from the McVeigh case. Unfortunately, we are seeing these as more frequent courses of action in a relatively short period versus something that can be passed off as an anomaly. One could quickly come to the conclusion that the FBI has reached a point of operating above the law and that there is more conspiracy within the organization than those they have taken oath to protect us from. You could also conclude tha... Read more
