It was sad that she never got the recognition when she was alive and even in death she was upped one by the death of Michael Jackson. I felt more when I found out she had lost her battle with cancer knowing how hard she fought. She showed a real human side to her that we never really see in stars and the famous. Ryan O'Neal telling about her last 2 days was heartbreaking. He said that she would not close her eyes to sleep the whole entire time and even though she no longer spoke it was like she was trying to say she still had things she wanted to do and she wasn't ready yet but when the time came she was peaceful and closed her eyes.

Even though she proved herself as a decent actress with such movies as The Burning Bed, she'll always be best remembered for her flowing blonde mane, toothy smile, and as one of Charlie's Angels.

Even though her passing was overshadowed by michael jackson I felt saddened that she had lost her fight. I admired her for the battle she fought and she showed the world that she was far more than a sex symbol.

She fought long, hard, and courageously, for that I admire her, especially since I lost my uncle to Cancer and my dad to non lymphomas Cancer. The fact, that she was never gave up, gets her a four in my book.

I really didn't follow her life after drooling over her in Charlies Angels,but she was a fighter & must have been inspirational to others with the same disease.

Farrah Fawcett sharing her battle with cancer showed the world she was more than just Charlie's Angel, more than her blonde hair and more than a swimsuit poster. It showed us that she was more than just a star. She made an impact on the world as a star and as a real person.

This was one beautiful woman from the inside to the outside! Heart of Gold, and I loved her forever humbleness, vulnerability, sensitivity, and genuine nature about her! She is truly an angel now.

So many only think of her in Charlie’s Angles when she was only on the show for a year. I never watched the show and hated it because of its sexist theme. I’m not a feminist, but found the show insulting and I was only a teenager at the time. But when Farrah left the show, she went on to do some very good roles. ‘The Burning Bed’ is one of the best TV movies I’ve seen and her acting is awesome as the abused wife of a sadistic man who literally beats the crap out of her every chance he gets. If you have not seen this TV movie, please catch it and your opinion of this beautiful sex symbol will change. Another great acting job done by Farrah was “Small Sacrifices” She is very good in the role of a psychotic woman who kills one of her kids, and cripples the other two so that she and her kids hating lover can be together. Any death is sad – but I would say legitimately sad only for the deceased person’s loved ones, family and friends. The rest of us only have flickering memories of most celebrities and if we mourn their passing I believe we are mourning mostly for our own investment in a creation or fantasy. Kept in perspective – I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that either. Though I was one of the millions of young women who tried a version of her famous layered hair-do back when, she barely hit my radar for much of the rest of her career. I thought Charlie’s Angels was insipid dreck from the second it hit the airwaves - and actually hated it at first because its success assured the cancellation of a show on another network starring Kurt Russell and Tim Matheson – also sucky but hey you guys have your idea of eye candy and I have mine. One of my ex-wives wore Farah or was it Farrah jeans. She shouldn't have. When she walked down the street, it looked like two bobcats fighting in a burlap bag. I wonder if the jeans maker was any relation?

Really, I've read some really nice things about Farrah. First, she was from Corpus Christi, the hometown also of Eva Longoria Parker, went to UT-Austin, was in Cannonball Run with Dom DeLuise, they were on the ambulance, he died recently also . One lady wrote in People magazine that her daughter was dying, and that she wanted to meet Farrah, and that Farrah met her, and gave her an autographed Cabbage Patch doll, and then when her daughter was dying in the hospital, Farrah did other nice things for her, and kept this all quiet-Farrah wasn't too much of a publicity seeker. It is sad, though, that her troubled son and Ryan O'Neil are so disfunctional. Her story is inspirational.

Oh man was she hot. I don't care if she was 15 years befoe I was born.

She was a successful model. I had the poster (the one that had the word "sex" in her hair) taped up on my bedroom wall. She was brave in her battle against that horrible cancer. RIP

I am not devastated but saddened to hear she lost her battle to that horrid cancer. she was pretty brave to make a documentary about her fighting cancer. I know she is mostly know for Charlie's angels. but she actually had some acting chops to her. she was good in the movie the Burning Bed. and small sacrficies. she was of course Beautiful but she also seemed Just as Beautiful on the inside. she seemed like a decent person. I hope she rests in peace.

A pretty lady and a fair actress. In the mindset of western culture, she was "too young to die"; but I think she enjoyed her time here. She did things her way, prospered for the most part, and will be fondly remembered by many people. RIP Farrah.

I was twelve when the original "Charlie's Angels" with Farrah Fawcett came on. I really enjoyed the show. Farrah Fawcett has many other credits to her name. It was very sad to have heard that two big icons had passed away today. Update: My own mother had cancer, and it wasn't a very pretty sight. It's heartbreaking to watch someone you love go through so much pain. Cancer is a very devastating disease. This one hit a little too close to home.

I still remember the first time I saw Farrah Fawcett. It was a commercial for Prell Shampoo. She stuck her head out of the shower with that gorgeous hair of hers framing her face. She was stunning. It made such an impression I never forgot it. A beautiful lady. Parts of her life seemed more chaotic than others but she seemed to handle it with grace and aplomb. Rest in peace.

I liked her and I really liked her hair in the 1970's. I never watched Charlies' Angels that much, but I did enjoy the nice looking jiggling ladies when I did. I lost track of her when she left the series, and that was a bad move! I always rather liked Ryan O'Neal so I would notice her in stories about them as a couple.

My first reaction to seeing this news was "man, I'm old." I know it's not about me. I know she has family and friends that are likely devastated right now. But all I could think about is how could this woman, who was the symbol of living, breathing, sexuality from my childhood be dead already? She wasn't a peer of mine, or even close to my own age group, but I'm old enough to remember when she was young and strong and beautiful. Mortality is a bitch.

I was too young when the original Charlie's Angels came out, so I didn't get to see it much. The exposure I have gotten to this show are the modern movies. All I can say is that I didn't like them and that Farrah Fawcett is way sexier than Cameron Diaz.

Farrah Fawcett was every guy's dream girl in the 1970's. And as such, she was arguably (along with Catherine Bach), everyone's pin-up girl as her picture adorned garages, men's locker rooms, and even pre-pubescent boys' bedroom walls. An icon with natural flowing blonde hair, Fawcett was indeed a ravishing beauty. Her death, as sad and as painful as it was, ought not to erase the fact that she was also a fairly decent actress. As far as Fawcett being missed? She will be a bit by her fans. But in any case, 62 years of age was far too young for this former Charlie's Angel.

Cancer is a terrible way to go. My father only had it for nine months before he died. I could only imagine two years of the parasite known as cancer eatting you away.

I've known far more people die of cancer then any other cause. While I was not a fan of any of her work, and in all fairness I only know her from Charlies Angels, I am aware that the world has lost a 70's sex icon. I am sorry she had to suffer as she did, cancer is a bitch I would not wish on anyone. RIP, Farrah.

I've been dealing with cancer for almost two years, and it hits me a little bit harder than before every time I hear somebody has lost their fight against it. Fawcett wasn't exactly young, but sixty-two still seems premature to me. The peak of her fame was before my time, but she was still a very recognizable name and face. Her physical beauty could not be questioned, but I wouldn't have called myself an admirer of her. It is sad to see somebody pass younger than most and after having most likely suffered. Hopefully this process gave her time to leave this world in peace.

A celebrity whose time in the spotlight exceeded that warranted by her resume due to her sex appeal. She is also the poster girl for poor career judgement for leaving a hot TV show for greater glory that never materialized. I recall seeing her lounging around luxury cars in a sequined ball gown in Lincoln/Mercury TV and Magazine advertisements before she got famous for her TV show and her poster, which I never owned but have etched in my mind to this day. Charlie's Angels was the epitome of style over substance programming, and only the most ardent devotee to kitsch could claim it was art. Her acting career beyond that was not notable for any reason other than former horny teen-agers' interest in seeing her make a comeback. I'm asking for trouble here but let's be honest, the phrase "waged a brave fight against cancer" is just a meaningless thought tacked on to every story about cancer. Like she had other options. Couldn't care less. She was pretty much devoid of any evident talent, had long since passed her celebrity expired date, made a fool of herself when she occasionally appeared in public, and her poster was only mediocre jerk-off material back when it came out. Another example of some people's belief that death elevates the trivial to the important.

Again, I'm always sorry to hear of someone dying prematurely, particularly from such a horrible disease as cancer, but I can't say that I was ever touched by her in any way in my own personal life, not even when I was a hormonal teenager and she was at the height of her popularity and "Sex-Symbol" status. Certainly, I was well aware of her famous poster...with her hair, teeth, and nipples all prominently displayed...and I was at an age where it didn't take much for me to become highly aroused, but Farrah never did it for me, for whatever reason (Marilyn Chambers, Pam Grier, Cher, and Cheryl Tiegs did; so did Sophia Loren, Allison Hayes, Marla English, Roberta Pedon, Tricia Nixon, Mrs. Norvell down the street, the school nurse, Mrs. Olson from the TV coffee commercials, etc. etc. etc...).
