I had been a long time customer of another insurance company when I met a contact that recommended I give Farmer's a shot. I met with a local agent and gave him my existing insurance policy and said I wanted the same coverage. He told me the final plan he came up with was exactly the same. Fast forward 1 plus years when I rented a Uhaul with the understanding that, like my original insurance, I was covered. Unfortunately buried on page 27 and never brought to my attention was an exemption for even the smallest rental trucks you can get. Farmer's is no help and is refusing to pay for any of the loss. I am now out $19,000 because an agent trained and represented by Farmer's did not take responsibility and due diligence to review my policy correctly and misled me.

Personally, I hate insurance companies all together. For one thing, they have excessive and abusive power, which they gained by lobbying the federal government and lord it over the public and our lives. Second, they bleed us to death every month gambling that we don't file a claim, but when we do, they have an army of people whose job it is to deny you! Worst yet they also managed to convince the government that they needed access to our credit reports claiming that people that don’t pay their bills on time are worse drivers than people with higher scores. That was just BS and an out and out lie so they could pry into our lives and charge higher rates to people that are already having a difficult time trying to make it as it is! Now does that make any sense? Punish people that are struggling with their bills...but I digress. I had a friend that was a Farmers Insurance agent for a short time. At first, he said they treated him as if he was a family member. All the current agents br... Read more

Farmers Insurance is a very corrupt, unethical company. The moral terpitude of the employees is the bottom of the barrel. I've caught several employees, all the way up to Management in some very serious lies. They act as if they are correct with all they say yet, they can be proven wrong in the drop of a hat. They have very condescending attitudes and if you ask a question, they can't answer, they make no attempt to find an answer for you. It's simply ignored. An absolute JOKE of an insurance company. Go to Geico or somewhere else. Get value for your dollar. Farmers is a dump

I went to this Farmers Agent Lucy Nguyen on El Cajon Blvd. It was my first car and i was new to this car insurance thing. First she gave me the student discount and she kept me on monthly payment and after a month i got a notice from Farmers saying my insurance has been cancelled. I was shocked. and when i went back to them, i came to know that thrz no student discount and my premium has gone up by $200. This agent is a big disappointment. Dont go to them. Farmers is awesome! I have been with them for 3 years and I moved my business to them after a friend lost everything in a house fire. Farmers took care of everythig and then some. Rates do go up and do go down but overall I am paying less than when I started with them 3 years ago. Luckily I have only had some small claims with my car but process was handled efficiently and professionally by Farmers and my agent.

I've had a two cars totalled by other drivers, & Farmers has been very helpful & prompt. They worked with me to give me top FMV dollar for my cars, had excellent autobody & repair shops, world class service. The only thing I didn't like was that they have different specialists for each phase of the claim. The front-end staff are superlative, the liability(?) staff are slow in returning phone calls. On the whole, Farmers' customer service has been terrific.

Car or home insurance, purposefully changing car and home information so in a loss, they do not have to pay you what it's worth, or replace it at it's worth. BE AWARE - check your farmers insurance policy for changes.

I asked for a simple policy cancellation with REFUND Emailed several times, Never get a response on the actual cancellation request. Only get Email instructions on how to cancel by Emailing a request. but they keep ignoring my actual request. Thank God I Don't actually Want To File a Claim. Company is only interested in MONEY

Hopefully this says it all. California Department of Insurance recently negotiated a ONE MILLION dollar fine against Farmers for several violations of the California insurance code. You can bet that the original fine was many times higher. In the end, the polciy holders will end up payning this fine in terms of higher premiums.

I've had Farmer's over 15 years and have finally had enough. I loved my first agent in Minnesota who made all the diference. When I moved to Virginia, my new agents in Virginia Beach were awful-- totally inaccessable unless they were selling me something or I hadn't paid my premium and they might lose their latest residual. I would have probably stayed forever but I've decided their agents have just become salespeople with little more than a profit motive: the epitome of Customer No-Service with higher than average prices.

Farmers Insurance is terrible. Farmers Insurance low-balled me on a claim. =========================================== http://www.farmersinsurancegroupsucks.com/ =========================================== * Farmers Insurance Rated Worse! Consumer Reports rated 20 homeowner insurance companies based on their reader's claim experience. Farmers Insurance was the only company on the list that was rated "Worse" for both "Problems with Claim" and "Delayed Payments". Report dated September 2004. All insurance rates are based upon filings with the Insurance commission is why rates go up and down like waves. All insurance rates go up if you make a claim because you've increased your risk assessment because statistics show that if a claim is filed, another claim is more likely to happen again in the near future.

Actually, beware of the glass program! I had been a perfect customer for farmers for 10+ years. I never filed a claim before. However, I got my windshield smashed by a log that felt from a truck. I called farmers and they promptly changed my glass at my home. Great service, I thought. However, I just got my renewal a few weeks ago. They increased my rate by $140 a year because of this glass claim. This is outrageous. My agent tried to fight very hard for me, but the underwriter seems to be a bad-ass. I thought that Farmers is like some overpriced health insurance plan that you are never suppose to be sick.

I've been with Farmers almost 30 years. They have alway been there for me. Some years, my rates go up, but other years they go down. Claim service is top rate and glass program is great!
