Its showing in alot of what he does on a pretty frequent basis, if you ask me. There are days when he looks as in over his head as his predecessor.

Many Presidents have lacked experience, yet have gone on to serve with distinction. Abraham Lincoln's only political experience was one 2 year term in the Congress, yet today he is regarded as one of the best Presidents to have ever served. The truth is that we really don't know what a person will do once he gets into office. All of it depends on events and how he decides to use the powers of the Presidency to enact his agenda. This President came in with a relatively light resume. Overstated academic credentials (only served as an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago and has no published works), limited experience in an executive capacity, spent 8 years in the state legislature before running for the Senate. Rather than developing seniority, he made a Presidential run after only 3 years in that august body. Like Jimmy Carter before him, Obama was able to capitalize on people's desire for something new, a change from the status quo and malaise of the Bush years. Ex... Read more

As much as I dislike Obama, the lack of experience isn't one of the things that bothers me that much. While more experience would be better, it wouldn't make me vote for him.

How much experience in "saving the world" does he need?...

Funny that when it comes to Obama as President, this is no big deal. However, when it comes to Palin as Vice President, it is a major deal...LOL. Obama has never run a business, never been in the military, never been a Mayor, and never been a Governor. Oh yeah...he is "qualified".

I don't see too much experience on the other side with the exceptions of how to deal with war and never end it. And as far as palin goes, she has none at all, so I guess that about evens the score card.

Yes, he lacks experience, but if he would have good advisors, that would be a smaller problem. I think, his other personal and political traits gave the heavier reasons not to vote for him.

This is the aspect of Barack Obama which would give me the most pause in casting a vote. It is true that experience is not everything, but it does have some value.

Over-rated factor in my opinion.  Experienced politicians are not always effective politicians, and it doesn't take much effort to come up with examples to demonstrate that.Similarly inexperience does not translate into incompetence.Granted, if I were back in my old political apparatchik role, working for either McCain or Clinton, I'd be advising hitting Obama with this every chance we got, as similarly I would be advising slamming McCain about his age and his rather dubious choice of friends if I worked for Obama or Clinton, and tying Hillary to Bill if I worked for McCain or Obama.

The best presidents were the ones who surrounded themselves with the best advisors. I think its who Obama surrounds himself with that will make or break his presidency. If he becomes prez

Obama is inexperienced on all aspects of running a country, and is still "wet behind the ears" and that is a hell of a lot of water!

probably would be a reason if he did not have a ton of experience. I still may consider giving my vote. since sometimes having experience does not always promise a good four years as president.

Yes, I would even prefer Hillary to Barrack because Obama is so inexperianced. I just think the reason so many people voted for Obama is that evil cur of a witch Oprah endorsed him. Oprah has screwed up this country almost more than both the Bushes.

Experience is overrated except from the standpoint of anticipating his pet causes.  He is a street activist from Chicago.  His lack of foreign policy experience is obvious when he says he will meet with Iran without preconditions.  Yes, he did say that.  If that is what you want, there are college seniors with greater brainpower and more exposure to geopolitical considerations than Obama. He is very thin-skinned (hey, lay off my wife.  Only I get to pimp her out, you need to refrain from rebutting her views) and arrogant, which usually doesn't play in Peoria.  Four years of marinating in the US Senate might help.  Might not.  It's certainly better than marinating for 20 years in Rev. Wright's church.

Being outside politics has never been a problem for presidential candidates in the past. In numerous cases, the White House was the President's first elective office. Zachary Taylor had never even voted before becoming president! (Apparently neither had Schwarzenegger before becoming governor!) So this isn't ipso facto a reason not to vote for Obama.

What the Junior Senator, his funky Senate voting record and his questionable associations lack, he tries make up with his nebulous vision of hopes and dreams. Great 50's stuff. This guy's visions (whatever they may be) are about as baffling to me as what might motivate a person to come to this site to genuflect.

Truth be told, even if he had plenty of experience I wouldn't vote for him. The fact that he's just to the right of Lenin is quite unsettling.

One of the biggest Democrat mistakes when proposing candidates. None of the two major candidates at this time can claim to have a history of "experience" and achievements that would cause trust and confidence in the voters, especially in the difficult times we live in.
