This episode was crazy, especially when the girl said once she tanned to much that her skin bled! Ouch! I understand that she did have an addition, but how could she not see that she looked older? Most people are very sensitive to that, and can clearly see wrinkles that weren't there before.

You can make yourself look like an orange oompa loompa from the Jersey Shore... of you can just turn yourself into a piece of leather....

I can understand wanting to wear cowboy boots. However, I've never understood the want to look like them.

It is not attractive to have skin that looks like leather. You are making yourself look very old. Tanning is very bad for your skin. Try using the lotions that tint your skin instead of the tanning bed. You do not want to die young from skin cancer and look 80 years old.

Worst combo: tanning + smoking. Ick. That'll guarantee that your skin will outlast the rest of your corpse, even surpassing your bones . . . .

Hey I'm not orange am I? Yes around spring break I use to tan at a tanning bed but that was only so I would not burn at the beach!! Anyways...I am far from that lady from "There's something about mary" but i do know quite a few old ladies like that..they are like 60 and still trying to tan...sad!

Lots of downsides here, as others have observed However, the upside of this is that if you do it thoroughly enough, your relatives can skin you and re-upholster their couch.

Try getting people who live on the Kalahari to take this one seriously.

I bet John Boehner is gonna be really pissed off when they levy the tanning bed tax to help pay for extended health care coverage.

Oh, it cracks me right the hell up that this chick I went to high school with is all tanorexic now. She's almost orange and the lines on her face are starting to take over...

If you hold up a piece of beef jerky to your face and it blends in then you've gone too far.

For the average ugly folk, there's nothing wrong with wanting to project a more appealing image. However, it's absolutely ridiculous when girls become so obsessed with a good tan that they slap on tan in a can chems on their skin, which turns otherwise hot girls into silly looking orange human carrots.

Foiled at his attempts to bring back a Bull Connor mentality to the cause of civil rights in his community, McGowan gleefully discovered a 1914 statute banning excessive tanning in his town's by laws.

I like to get a little tan. but i do not stay out in the sun for hours. just about a half hour and not every day during the summer months. I only get about four months out of the year in Michigan. and considering we have a lot of cloudy days. I do not get a lot of sun to be out in. I would also never go to a tanning place and get in those tanning beds. I try and be careful use lotion.

Not sure what the purpose of EXCESSIVE tanning is, but is the porn industry hiring 'lotion wranglers' by any chance?

We all need a little bit of natural sunshine, but I don't think people realize what excessive tanning can do to them later on in life.

Which leads to early wrinkling, extreme leather skin and a very real shot at skin cancer. Nope, I learned all of the above a long time ago and was further encouraged not to pursue this kind of addiction when I also realized that, for me, it could only lead to freckles, peeling and sun poisoning...conditions which tend not to be all that attractive.
