DO NOT USE THEM! YOU WILL GUARANTEE YOURSELF AN IRS AUDIT! My husband and I were referred to Betty Eurioste and went to her for 2006 and 2007 tax returns. January of 2008 we are audited by the IRS for both years we went to Betty ... the IRS wanted more $$$ than we had received back in our returns. We tried to contact Betty, or ANYONE at that office and nothing. We sent emails, called, left numerous voice messages ... my husband even dropped in on her unannounced a few times and either the doors were locked, or she made an excuse as to why she could not meet. Eight months go by and we have additional $3000 of penalty fees in addition to the $13,500 that the IRS wanted for "unreimbursed business expenses". Since our "fiduciary" seemed to have vanished into thin air, we met with a tax attorney (and paid $200 for an hour consultation). He recommended that we settle with the IRS because the returns were so ill-prepared. Betty had been fudging dollar amounts! ... and then he gave ... Read more

Betty Eurioste is a fraud - without a doubt. As the other reviewers said, she is disorganized, always late - but gets you a big refund. My son, his wife and I all trusted her. Granted, we signed, but we assumed she was a professional and knew what she was doing! As a result, we are all involved in a multi-year IRS audit, costing us thousands in back taxes plus interest and penalties. I am checking into legal action again Eurioste for misrepresentation as a professional!

This woman is dishonest !! The thing I told her first and foremost was I will NOT lie. Shame on me for trusting her. I found out unfortunately from the AUDITOR ---- most of what she said was perfectly allowable to deduct --- was NOT!! It cost me thousands and now I have to go back and correct the other years! You can get the same large return and save yourself her fees just by making things up yourself you will have the same outcome in the end ----- Looking over your shoulder all the time wondering when the "man" is going to catch up with you.

I was referred to Betty & Co. in 2006, by a friend. The first year, her daughter was getting married...My paperwork was lost. After 7 trips to her office, all was redone, and the taxes were filed on time - barely. I was thrilled with all the deductions they found, and the return I was getting. The second year, I was assigned to a gentleman who visited with his friend during my preparation appointment. After three additional visits and several phone calls, my paperwork was completed by Betty, after an extension had to be filed. Once again, I was getting a great return. Year three only took two visits, and my taxes were handled by Betty, beginning to end, efficiently and timely. I was loving the deductions she was finding, as it resulted in cash back. Then came August of 2009: I received a letter form the IRS, that I was being audited for tax year 2006: My first year with Eurioste. I phoned their office, asking for a return call, so I could figure this out. Nothing. I ... Read more

If I had the choice to select ZERO stars, I would. Husband and I went to her for 2 years. The office was disorganized, and there was paperwork everywhere, but we thought nothing of it at the time. We were encouraged to make deductions that we were unsure of, but were reassured that everything was fine. They did not want to see reciepts, and said that estimates were fine. About 8 months ago, we were audited for BOTH years! They wanted all the money back with penalties (more than $3000) and interest (almost $600). Betty was helpful at first, meeting with us, collecting the paperwork we had, and also told us what we needed to bring to meet with the auditor, and what to expect. A few weeks (and more interest) later, we met with an auditor, but Betty didnt bring our original documents that we had provided to her just a few weeks earlier. Imagine our frusturation, and the auditor's frusturation. After the initial meeting, betty still couldnt locate our important original documents... Read more

After reading these posting all I can do is shake my head. I love how everyone loves the benefit of the returns when they are coming in and then wants to complain and throw the Accountant under the bus when they have to answer to the numbers- which all of you had to sign by the way. Shame on all of you if you signed something before checking the numbers or without the proper documentation to back it up. As far as my family, Betty has been nothing but a source of strength and integrity and has stood by us 100% with our audit. Did any of you try to work WITH Betty as a partnership rather than just bitching about what she "did" to you? I love how everyone wants to sit and bitch and blame someone else- what happened to personal accountability? Well, I have news for all of you- we were audited, we have met with the IRS, we had receipts and documentation for everything that Betty put into our audit, (just like she told us we would need when she prepared our taxes), and our audit is g... Longtime coming...good luck Betty The Associated Press Published: January 4, 2010 WASHINGTON - The Internal Revenue Service plans to start regulating paid tax preparers, requiring them to register with the government, pass competency tests and adhere to ethical standards. The new regulations, announced Monday, will not be in effect for the current filing season - individual tax returns are due April 15. But IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said tax preparers will be held to higher standards in future years as the IRS steps up its oversight to help reduce fraud and errors. "As tax season begins, most Americans will turn to tax return preparers to help with one of their biggest financial transactions of the year," Shulman said. The new regulations "will help ensure taxpayers receive competent, ethical service from qualified professionals and strengthen the integrity of the nation's tax system." Shulman said he hopes to have all paid tax preparers registered by the 2011 filing season. ... Read more

IF I could subtract stars, I would. I don't know why betty would comment on this website. Everyone knows it's you Betty disguising yourself with a real original name-bettyboop2. You're not fooling anyone with that clever name, but did a good job fooling us into signing your prepared tax returns. Don't come onto this site with that nonsense saying "you need ask the preparer for help." You don't answer your phone or emails. Your help is worth about two dead flies. Also, your earlier comment about your attorney requesting information from this website because of "slanderous statements" kind of made me laugh. Have you had any luck? Just so you know, slander means a false spoken statement to damage ones reputation. The comments on this website couldn't be more truthful. I must admit, you do a good job at manipulating people. If you decide to come on to this site and comment again, can you please let us know if you are even qualified to prepare taxes for people. I have a feel... Read more

Trying to figure out why people would post trash on this site. Seems it is to try to hurt businesses. If they were audited, why did they not call the preparer for help. Why did they not use their appeal rights. There are thousands of mail in audits going on across the country as well as face to face audits. Your appeal rights are always there. Don't bash the preparer if you did not give them an opportunity to help you.

I must admit that looking through all these reviews makes me feel so much better...We are NOT the only people out there who blindly signed their name to a bull*hit tax return. All the other reviews match our story exactly. Our first appointment there was for our 2005 prep. We showed up at her dingy, cluttered office on time. She made us wait about 1 hour. We were so mad by the time we got in there. Betty made it all better though as she was telling us how we can deduct our clothes we buy for work (not uniforms, regular clothes), one vacation/year, etc. Basically according to her we could deduct almost anything. When we questioned anything she looked at us like we were morons. We walked out of there so happy, after being told we would be receiving about $4,000.00! Biggest tax return we had ever had by far! The next year we had moved out of state and did the return by mail. What a huge hassle. As others have stated, she is next to impossible to get on the phone or by email. After waiting... Read more

I am being audited as well. I feel betrayed and I don't know why Betty would do this. We all want some money back at the end of the year but not if it means audits in the long run. I would rather be honest initially, get a normal refund, and state exactly what is what than suffer later and have to pay compounded interest on money that was never mine to begin with. I remember sitting down with Betty and showing her my calculations regarding my taxes to be filed. I have meager earnings and I would say, a pretty easy tax return to file, nothing to complex. She would punch on her calculator then look up and tell me some exaggerated number and insist with her face, eyes, body language, even to my refusal that the number she just came up with is what I "should" claim. She would just stare at me like I was stupid if I argued with her. I just naively give into what she was saying. Thinking to myself I guess she knows what she's doing if she's a CPA and has been in business for so long.....m... Read more

Our experience with Betty was not pleasant. We were uncertain about the types of deductions that she decided that we needed to put on our return despite my husbands bad feelings. We trusted that she knew what she was doing. We got a great refund! However, within months, we recieved an audit letter from the IRS stating that we owed all that money back and more in interest! We took it to her and she said they were wrong and that we should fight it with her help. We tried to find all the things she told us to and she said she had some extra receipts we could use as well. As our deadline got closer, it became impossible to get a hold of her. We left voicemail messages, and messages with her employees, but she never called us back. We even stopped by and the office was locked up tight. We met with the auditor and gave him what we had, but we still ended up owing quite a bit. The old advice still stands, if it's too good to be true, it probably is..

My wife and I went to Betty for the first time this year, 2007. We were referred to her from some people my wife worked with. After she did our taxes we were surprised to see our return, it was much larger than the years before. People I worked with still use the other person we used in the past and they stayed the same. We are worried about being audited but it is too late now, I read ONE other review about Betty and it said she did not help them when they got audited. They owed back $540.00. That is not bad if they got much more than that from the beginning. I will keep this website informed if we get audited.
