I went to pick up the car on 10/10/2011 at 9:15 AM. I had gone by earlier in the week to check the price and was told it would be about $40 total, including tax. When I went to pick it up, they told me I had to have a utility bill or somehting to confirm my address since I had only a debit card and no credit cards. I went home to get that and came back. That put me behind on leaving for my trip and I was in a hurry. I did not notice that the salesman had charged me for every kind of insurance and roadside assistance they offer. I signed the paper thinking that the difference was just my deposit which they told me would be credited back to my debit card after the car was returned. The salesman confirmed the car rental price of $38.97 without lettimg me know he had added the other charges. The car cost me $148.39 instead of $38.97 and I already have insurnace to cover me in a rental car. I feel like he added the charges knowing that I was in a hurry, and older person who has a ha... Our reservation pickup time was 6pm. We didn't know they closed at 6:00. So first off, why did they allow us to book a reservation for their closing time. We arrived right at 6pm and they were closed. We tried to show the agents through the window that we had a reservation at 6. They told us they were closed and refused to open the door. Of course we were upset. We stood there waiting for another agent to come out. We again showed them that we had a reservation for 6 and he refused to open the door. So we knocked on the door hoping the manager would come to the door. Someone else came out and we showed them the contract saying our pickup time was 6. He said he wasn't going to open the door because they were closed. We of course were more upset and he said, "I'm going to call the police if you don't go away." In retrospect, we regret leaving at that point. We wish we had thanked him for offering to call the police and waited for the police to arrive. The next morning we went to Enterpri... Read more

We rented localy in Jacksonville Florida from the airport. On returning there was no one in attendance, it was about 8 p.m. I stepped away fron the car to ask an employee (Enterprise shirt) what to do and was told to ask at a kiosk, thes sent to another kiosk. In this few mintues of confusion an Enterprise driver removed several personal items worth about $100. I noted the missing items and was given a run around; all the way up to corporate the attitude was their employees have "finders keepers" rights to anything in the car when returned. Over the years I've tolerated their overcharges, snotty attitude and poor service but this was too much and our entire corporation has stopped renting from enterprise. We won't do businesss with this company since they have an attitude that screwing customers is part of their business model.

It's the first and last time I'm renting with this shitty company! Nobody tells you of hidden fees, like almost 20% tax. We rented local and dropped off at an airport, which was $100 drop-off fee, okay we knew about that. On top of that they added tax to our Expedia booking which is supposed to already include tax. We returned a car 50 minutes late and the lady said she wouldn't charge us an extra hour and would put time as if we returned it on time. Not true! They charged us an extra hour + 20% tax. It came to over $200 for 1 day car rental! Ridiculous! We are on vacation now renting with National and paid $380 for 10 days! Compare! I'm pissed off! I feel like I was overcharged and I cannot do anything about it!

I did not like at all having to walk for 3 hours to one of their places where I had reserved a car 3 wks before, and find out I needed paperwork they did not ask for when I called days before and asked them if they needed anything else. Then, they just say “Sorry” as their only response. Their service sucks balls, at least the one located at 8555 Dyer Street, El Paso, TX. I provide 1 star because this app does not let me provide 0 stars, that is the rating I reallt have in mind.

If you are renting 'local', and away from an airport, these folks are great. If you are renting on vacation, be VERY CAREFUL. I am fighting a damage claim and gonna lose because of time, effort and locale, but others have gone through the same thing. The vacation rental folks have a thing going, and its very profitable for them.

A few years back, when my son was home on leave, he and I went to the Enterprise Car rental in Whittier, California, where we live. We wanted to rent a van. We talked with the manager, told him what we wanted, a large passenger van that would hold my entire family, including my mother, in comfort. He took us straight to a new Ford van. We liked it, said we would take it and went inside to fill out the paperwork. As we were a little more than halfway done and almost getting ready to leave the office, some guy came storming in. He was in a rage and said in a fairly demanding way "I was here before these guys and I want that van that you're giving them" (I'm paraphrasing but it's close). My son, who has a bit of a temper himself started to approach the guy but I put my arm in front of him and told him to wait. The manager, more or less , caught off guard, kept his cool and said"I'm sorry but these two gentlemen already selected the van". "I don't give a sh#t, I was here first and I wan... Read more

UNSAFE VEHICLES--DO NOT RENT I rented a car from this company's Savannah, GA airport site. We used the vehicle to drive to New York for the holidays. However, the vehicle was filled with windshield wiper fluid that froze right at 32 degrees. The problem persisted even after adding fluid rated for northern temperatures. We found our selves pulling over and using handfuls of snow to clean the windshield on several occasions. I would be very reluctant to use the company again. If they take shortcuts on windshield wiper fluid, I can only imagine what else they shortchange. Be very careful when renting from this outfit and test your wipers at low temperatures before you might really need them.

Got scammed by Enterprise like many do. Rented a car from them which was fine, although they overcharge for their rentals. I saw dings and dents all over the car and scratches too. They told me it was too small because it didn't fit within the circle on their clipboard so they refused to mark it down or they could get in trouble for listing it. Although I tried and begged them to mark it on the contract, they would not and assured me it would not be a problem. When I returned it I had the problem. They said I signed the paper and verbal agreements are not binding. SCAMMERS!!!!! They did a claim on my Allstate Policy and Allstate gave them the money and it affected my perfect record with Allstate. I fought this tooth and bone and when investigated further, it was etermined other renters already paid for this same damage on this exact car. When Enterprice got caught, they paid back Allstate. To this day, I still have that claim on my auto insurance even though Allstate got paid back. A ... Read more

They quote you a reasonable rate over the phone the when you go to rent the car the cost almost triples. They don't accept cash whatsoever only a credit card. Then they don't communicate the charges clearly to you so when you return the car you end up paying more than expected. I used to like enterprise but I'll never rent from them again!!

I booked a cargo van ONE MONTH in advance- then the night before I was to pick it up, about 14 hours before I was supposed to pick it up, they called to say they couldn't find one and I wouldn't be able to get one for the next day. I told this this was UNACCEPTABLE. I came in from out of town (2500 kms) just to move my stuff on this specific day. They said I could have 50% off my next rental- that is complete BS. I told them I will NEVER be reting from them again due to the fact they couldn't deliver on their reservation- ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE!!!! I was beyond angry. I told them I would write bad reviews all over the net, tell my family and friends to never book with them, and I will never book with them because of their complete incompetence to handle any reservations. They are complete idiots. Do NOT book with Enterprise.

There were problems the last three times I tried renting from them. The first of these was from Orlando where I reserved a mid-size car when they claimed they didn't have any. When I refused to agree to pay for a higher class, I had to wait 45 minutes while they hunted around somewhere to get me a car with over 40,000 miles on it that was ready for rent-a-wreck. The second time in Halifax I paid for the rental at the end of the trip with Canadian dollars and they billed my credit card for the rental amount, which is not the first time I have heard of that occuring in Canada. The third, and last time, was another rent-a-wreck situation which convinced me to stay away from this company.

Hi, I just wanted to say a big Thank You to Jarett Klien of 24th Street SE Calgary AB location for great service. He went out of his way to accommodate my request for arranging a F150 on Feb 23, 2010. I wish him well and see him climbing the ladder pretty quick with this attitude. I always rent from Enterprise and the Enterprise Location at 1608 Hillhurst Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027 has got to be a car renters worst nightmare. Once I was made to wait over 2 hours to get my car and was driven to two different locations. This other time I was running late and I called in to let them know. I reached exactly 10 minutes late and discovered that once it closing time they actually turn off all the lights and hide under their desks so customers who are late by even 5-10 minutes cannot return the car and they get to charge them an extra day. I somehow made eye contact with them while they were hiding and they were forced to come and open the door for me and accept my rental. Cheap as they are they charged me for an extra hour even thought I was within their 30 minute grace period. Customer service is non existent and the representatives get combative and argue with you when you raise a point. I would never rent from this location again.‎

Never again.........I have rented from Enterprise on three occasions and have been disappointed each time. If I had an alternative company to choose then I would, but my employer has an account set up with them. The last car that I rented was filthy, smelled like smoke, had sticky residue on cup holders, and to top it all - was not the size car that I reserved. I made a reservation, 2 weeks in advance, for a full-size car. They had compact cars and SUVs. Keep in mind that I was fixing to go on a 350 mile trip so fuel mileage and comfort were essential. The compact was a Ford Focus that didn't have cruise control so I wasn't taking it. I had no choice but to go with a Ford Expedition. The employees went on and on about how it was a free upgrade. Whatever. V8 engine, driving that beast to Memphis and back. Thanks for nothing. I have sent formal complaints but they went unanswered.

Reserved a full-size car from them at the Phoenix Airport but they gave us a Nissan Xterra SUV at the same price. The staff was very professional, friendly and efficient. The car was super clean and nice and the cost was reasonable too. Picking up the car was easy and the dropoff was a snap. No surprises except that the whole experience was fantastic. In PHX, we won't rent from anyone else.

We rented from Enterprise at the San Antonio Airport. The staff was was great and they worked with us in everyway that you could want. We had requested a child seat that had to be installed and we waited 20 minutes for that and that was the only wait we had. We had read about the bad experiences that others had had with the other companies at San Antonio but none of that was true with Enterprise in San Antonio. We will rent with them again. MJ

Words cannot describe how bad they really are. The worst rental company ever! They refused to help us when our car broke down in Colorado Springs. It is now Sunday and we are told that we have to wait until THURSDAY for someone to look at the car! Unbelievable. And this was the local company. Corporate refused to help us at all, and not even a "manager" could speak English comprehensibility. NEVER AGAIN!

I've used Enterprise quite a few times and think my experience with them was just fine. They picked me up and dropped me off, which was very efficient. When I was under 25 they waived the underage fee for me, which was excellent and saved me over $200.00!

In short: Very helpful and flexible agent at the reservation counter, and immediate correction upon dispute on charges. We rented a midsize car in Las Vegas airport. Our original reservation was with Dollar Rent-a-car, but the Dollar reservation counter was at least 1 hour wait upon our arrival, so we went to the Enterprise counter with our Dollar reservation to see whether they will honor the Dollar rental rates. Enterprise not only honored the agreement, but actually beat the price by $2 a day! Upon our return, we noticed a discrepancy in the total bill, and was very pleased that the attendent at the return counter was able to immediate correct the issue and gave us full credit back. Our previous experience with Enterprise has always been positive. This recent trip just confirmed yet again that there is not reason to rent a car from a different company unless there is a huge price difference!

Me, my wife and my daughter were treated very rudly by the branch manager(Shaue or Shawe)in Punta Gorda, Fl. We rent cars at that location at least three times a year, But we've never been treated so rude. My wife always rents the car with my credit card, I even asked the employee that picked her up if she can pay with my card. He said sure, no problem. Even the gentelmen next to the manager told my wife it was fine, but she told my wife she would not do it. I later spoke to her on the phone and she didnt even apologize for her employes telling me it was ok. Later when Me and my four year old daughter arrived, my little girl incently said hello to her and she did not even respond therefor hurting her feelings. Finally when I was checking out the car with the mean manager she did everything in a hurry and didnt even explain the contract. Conclusion me and my family all strongly agree we will call the branch to see if she still works there, if so we will be renting a car with Budget or H... Read more

The rental car was fine, but being on business, I really wanted a GPS since I didn't know the area. They wouldn't give me one and actually made up a bogus excuse to prohibit me from getting one like, "15 of them were returned to us yesterday all broken, so we're in short supply unless you explicitly reserved one". The probability that happens is highly unlikely....how do you break a GPS? and 15?

Last week I rented a car from Enterprise (O'Hare). I must say it was the most positive rental car experience I have ever had. The car was clean and well maintained. All 5 people I interacted with were friendly and helpful. A cheerful greeter apologized for a delay (5 minutes or less wait time) from a small line, gave out chilled Dasani waters, and went over detailed maps. Service agents patiently helped me pick out my car, reiterated directions out of Chicago, and checked the car in quickly and without any claims of damage. When I asked about a gong I saw in the lobby, I was told it was left by a customer and travelers are invited to bang the gong to improve bad moods etc.

I have been renting from Enterprise 4 or 5 times. One time I had an accident. In many instances got great discounts. Never was pointed out to any damage as a fault on my side. They also picked me up and dropped me off (about 8 miles) for free (tip). They upgraded cars for free on many occasions. They are not perfect, but I was satisfied so far. Unlike many people here, I do not think there is anything wrong with making profits #1 for rental companies.

Had a car to be provided on June 13 as of June 14th still left without a car in an unfamiler town. Customer service 800 is absolutly no help as they can not get you a car only the office assigned per the reservation can do that. Ended up going to Avis who will be here in ten minutes to get me. They price matched with a nicer car even though this was not their service issue.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS!!! unless you plan to do a 5 star quality inspection with them and run over the car with a fine toothed comb. Oh yeah, and don't forget to document the car with photos- the whole works. They will slam you for any minor detail wrong when the car is returned. I was a first time customer just renting a van for a routine job. I took care of the van to the best of my ability, and am 100% positive that I did nothing to the van while in my care. Upon returning the van, I was brought to the attention of a very minor ding in the front left panel. By "minor", I am talking about about the size of a dime, and no paint scratched at all! So now I am supposedly responsible for fixing this little ding. My bet is they are going to charge an exuberant amount for this ridiculous detail. It's a freaking Van, not a Mercedes! Yeah, maybe it was my mistake that I inspected the van casually and signed that 4 page paper with fine print that you'd need a lawyer to understand, but I h... Read more

Rented a car in El Paso in late October. Got a great rate but wasn't until we turned the car in that I understood why. When we rented the car it was dark - around 9:00 pm. The desk clerk made sure I was aware that by declining their insurance that I was responsible for the car. This has never been a problem before so I agreed. Then he asked for my insurance company's name. Never been asked that before. Upon checking out the car we looked it over and found no damage. Upon returning it at around 7:00 am, still pretty dark, the attendant was pointing out dents on the roof before we were even able to get out of the car. Sure enough there were maybe three small dents in the roof. I am sure they were there before we got the car but did not notice them. I still wouldn't have noticed if the attendant had not pointed them out after driving it to a well lit part of the lot. She even remarked that they had a history of hail damage on the car before I rented it. Long story short, they... Read more

Too bad you can't put negative stars on this rating. We came in to pick up a car and while another associate was showing a car parked next to our vehicle, the customer opened the door and dented my vehicle. I understand the company provides insurance to the customer, but if your associates do not care for other customer's vehicles parked on your lot, then I consider that negligence. The fact that damage is not a concern to your employees when it comes to enterprise vehicles, is not surprising since they know the corporation is paying for it. Why should it be a concern for the associate right? Well if the people at this business cared they would understand that the company is only loosing more money with this type of negligent behavior. I called to see who the associate was and was only greeted with a long hold followed by much sarcasm fom the manager named Teddy Mack. This was on November 8, 2007 @ 4:06PM. This company should understand that customers come to rent cars because they've... Read more

I only gave Enterprise 1 star because there was no lower rating. My car was hit and was in the shop. Rented a car through the other guy's insurance company. Enterprise had no car on the lot which was of comparable size to the one the insurance would pay for. They told me to take the compact car (supposed to get a standard size) and call in every few minutes or they would call me when they had a standard size car available for me. Six hours later I call in and they say they have a standard size car. I drive in to get the car. They told me it was there since the morning and they were waiting for me to call them to say I wanted it. So far as I know I'm not a mind reader. Anyway I find out the only reason I was getting the car was because the guy who they had given it during the morning didn't want it so I could have it. Three days later they call to tell me the car I'm driving has been sold and they want me to take it in and get another car. I ask if they have another standa... Read more

I rented an enterprise a couple of times and was almost not a problem. Whatever we have an accident (just once), or have a long-term car repair, they let rent equal size of the car we have without a charge. Just is that renting off airport was not a great idea since the car is somewhat dirty and smelled like smoke once with a Pontiac Grand Am. Chevolet Malibu was the one they rented me after a car accident (was OK).  Of my Toyota Camry in the accident was trashed. So, Chevolet Malibu was kept for more than a month and no charge as the insurance paid for it and was OK (That time I rented after the accident in Houston on the day Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and during Hurricane Rita). I still think renting the airport is good idea if you get the chance to rent enterprise again.

I rented a car on thursday for 2 days at Enterprise in Parsippany, NJ. I came to pick up the car at about 11:30 the rep took such a long time that I got the car finally at around 12:50. When I came to return the car on Saturday I found out that the location was already closed at 12:00 so parked the car in the designated are and dropped the key in the key drop box. Later I was shocked to see that Enterprise has charged my credit card for 5 days of rental. When I called them to correct this . They simply refused to refund any amount to me. It was horrible experience I don't think I will ever go back to Enterprise.

(For all those reviewing Enterprise and complaining about being charged for repairs... try getting the Damage Waiver. It may sound like a lot but just start figuring it into the cost of the rental because these companies are out to make money. They are a business after all. I'd say that the $22.99 a day is much easier on the wallet than a $500 to $1000 bill later.) We rented from Enterprise the last time we went to Orlando, FL. They were fantastic!! Even gave us a free upgrade from a Jeep Grand Cherokee to a Ford Expidition. Nice. Customer service was outstanding and fast. Would absolutely rent from them again.

A pretty decent sci-fi series actually, but alongside Voyager this series is not a patch on DS9, TOS or even the highly overrated TNG. The first season on hindsight was not too bad, with only the second season truly sucking. But it really came into it's own during the Xindi arch and when Manny Cotto was added to the burnt out creative team - but by then Enterprise lost most of it's audience.

Call me a geek but it beats the living hell out of Grey's Anatomy, Blue Collar TV or any of the multitude of mindless sitcoms or infotainment posing as news out there. Three of them come out and smell the car and tell me that they do not smell it. 3 of my passengers comfirmed the smell was very strong (it wasn't just me). Car was not washed or cleaned inside. I asked to have it washed, and was to made to feel like I was being unreasonable. I think the just went out and sprayed water on it. It was still dirty, but wet now. They work on commision, so it's kinda like dealing with used car sales persons. They will treat you like gold up until your commited to the deal. I will never use the again. I will try some other companies. Enterprise 48th and Washington Tacoma, Washington
