Ellen has had a sucessful journey. She now has an excellent show and she uses it to help change the lives of everyday people. How often do you see any big wigs in america doing anything of the sort? Her impromptu wit and overwhelming generosity is key in helping her master stardom. I honestly believe that anyone that has a problem with Ellen, might in fact have some serious issues. Don't worry though she wont hold it against you.

I find her boring. I also couldn't care less about her sexuality.

I have to admit....that I did not 'want' to like this woman, but I can't help not to! I find her very entertaining, and yes, I do mean funny. She gets me cracking up so hard sometimes! Can she dance...? No, but I still think it's funny that she has the guts to do it. I find her brilliant, original, friendly, highly sensitive & insecure, kind, generous and caring. She kind of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland! HAHA! I find her very inquisitive and a curious one. She is very alert, and a very good listener, and fascinated with people...especially if they are eccentric or have a lot of quirks. She is non-judgmental herself, so don't judge her. And certainly don't judge her for being a lesbian. I mean, she didn't choose to be one, she was born that way. God just had a different plan for her, you have to trust Him if you say you are Christian. I think Ellen seeks constant entertainment and excitement in her life, and thrives on mental challenges, as evidenced by her quizzes and games on h... Read more

I see a lot of people focusing on her sexuality, I find that odd as she does not seem to focus on it herself. Granted, I don't normally watch her show, for all I know she could scream 'Lesbian' at the start of every show. As for her stand-up, I find her to be really funny. She starts out picking on every day mundane and then gradually becomes more ridiculous. Also, she is a very physical comedian, offers a lot of slapstick that you typically see in male comics. It works for her, I'm glad that she is still working and making people laugh.

If she wasn't gay,she wouldn't be anywhere near as hyped and promoted as she is,because she is one of the most monotonous comics I've ever seen. Her voice, her delivery,it stays almost constantly in a monotone, like the dial tone. Very little inflection,or differentiation, and ajittery, stop-start flow that grates immediately . No straight comic could get away with being that boring,or get the media attention/propaganda/hype. He/She might get a talk show, but it wouldn't last long, wouldn't last past the first season. But,thanks to PC,gays can have it both ways.

Intelligent. Talent with the language. . .but I tire of her delivery, her fans, and her opponents who emphasize everything (almost everything) except her actual talent. . .

I won't speak for her humor on her TV show...never watched it...I actually have things going on in my life during the hours that her TV show airs.  HOWEVER, I will say that during her prime Stand Up days (I'm thinking late 80's and early to mid 90's)...she was extremely funny...picking apart nuances of everyday life (in a very Seinfeld-esque way...although I don't think she needs to be compared to JS)...and she (then) rarely brought politics into her act...even though you knew where she was coming from...and that is a credit to her talent.

What I love about her most is that she can laugh at herself. She's constantly coming up with instantaneous tidbits of humor when interviewing/speaking with guests, and when she mucks it up, she's the FIRST to laugh about it. Her stand-up routines are the VERY best!

I did not think Ellen was very funny before she suprised the world and told us she was a lesbian. Boy did I have to pick my self of the floor when I heard the news;)Her sitcom was bad and the new talk show is not any better. She did a nice job in Finding Nemo but she had good material.

I don't have anything against Ellen her self it is what she represents, I'm a Christian and I know God didn't make us like that. She has a soul and God loves her just like He does me. I've been a viewer of WHNT all my life , I'm 37 now. Everyday that is the only channel I watch except when her show comes I turn it off. I had rather see the NEWS first at 4:30.

She is better served as a stand up comedian. Can be absolutely hilarious. Her lesbianism is her business, I just enjoy her comedy. And that's how it should be.

Proof, yet again that white girls can't dance. The audience eats it up because ushers are holding guns to their heads. It's quite frightening to watch.

It's not like Ellen chose to be gay. Kinda strange if she did. I mean risking her previous show and all. Kinda strange if you actually think people chose to be gay for you to hate them. Oh, by the way... drop dead.

My favorite stand up comedian of all times period. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw Taste this and all her other shows are funny too. The funny thing is, that I have the same humor, so it is very easy to understand her jokes and to identify with her.

Ellen is talented and obviously loves what she does. On her talk show, she makes her audience comfortable and although the monologue does not last long, it it funny! If she was an awful comedian as many people critique her, her standup shows would not sell, her DVD would not sell, her books would not sell, etc. People like her material, and as she keeps it up she will only be more successful! People who complain about her coming out publicly or simply being a lesbian- think about it! She is in the public eye, it had to happen sometime! She could either 1- Do what she did, get it done and over with by coming out nationally; or 2- hide her sexuality forever, being miserable because she was afraid of what people think. I believe that she made the right choice.

Hi, this is Ellen DeGeneres... Yes I am a lesbian. I think Cheney's daughter is sexy. I am better in bed than men. I know how to stick a vibe in your hole, it would be better to get an extra extra D battery for the vibe... to get more pleasure. Oh yes, yes, yes. I love licking puskittensy... but please shave, I don't like it bush.

Nice person, decent talk show host. But NOT funny as a stand up. Her self deprecating humor wears thin real fast. She must have something on the ball - she DID boff Ann Heche!

Ellen's show is a reflection of Hollywood's insistance upon placing as many homosexuals in our living rooms as they possibly can. They only represent 3% of the population, but populate a vast array of TV content.

People like Ellenn Digeneres are what keep me from labeling all liberals evil. As a conservative, I obviously disagree with her politics and her homosexuality. However, as an entertainer I find her very funny, occasionally.

I didn't watch her TV program much, so I can't comment on her acting skills. I will say that her talk show is fun and entertaining. But as evidenced by the previous comment on Ellen Degeneres, some people are so bigoted they feel she should simply wear sackcloth and ashes or climb under a rock because she happens to be gay. Being honest about her sexuality makes her nasty..pushing her immorality in front of you. She is nowhere near as vocal about her sexual orientation as Rosie O'Donnell. The reviewer also threw in a crack at Bill Clinton, whom fundamentalists dub as the antichrist. From this point of view, anyone deviating from the white-bread, white button down shirt, conservative Protestant Republican point of view is destined for hell's flames and thus totally worthless. What a shame that these self-righteous types don't seem to take Jesus and the Apostle Paul seriously, who advocated love, forgiveness, and tolerance.

Self-centered people are bad enough. But this one pushes her immorality right in your face. Like Mr. Clinton, she's very proud of her nastiness.

Laugh out loud funny. Great timing, great faces. A funny, funny woman in the style of old-school standup. Her snippets of truth about the funny way people are ranks right up there with Jerry Seinfeld, but she's a better physical comedian.

Wow. Some people here have nerves. No one chooses to be a lesbian or gay, just like no one chooses to be straight. I mean why would someone choose to be a lesbian? Her earlier show got cancelled because she came out. She lost ratings and everything. Do you have any idea how many homophobics there are out there? Don't you think she knew that at the time she came out? When you're known as a gay person, people's opinion of you changes. People even get killed because they're openly gay, and those who come out about their sexuality want to live without lies; they want it known. Being gay isn't chosen, you can't choose who you're attracted to. She's helping others to come in terms with who and what they are by what she does. And as far as her mentioning her sexuality, if you don't like it, don't watch it; no one's forcing you. She's not gonna be someone she's not just to MAKE YOU HAPPY. She's a person too. She's great at what she does, and her talk show is great too. She's just an amazing pe... Read more

Boring, I hope she never hosts another Acadamy Awards show in her life. In fact I would'nt mind if her show was cancelled tommorow. She really pushed my buttons when she insisted on coming out as a lesbian on her show, like she was trying to prove something. The only thing she wound up proving was how easy it is to lose a show when you insist on pushing your sexual preference on your show. I have nothing against lesbians, I just find Ellen unfunny and unattractive. There are a million other people who are more deserving of there own show. Oh yea, I'm glad Ann Hesche dumped her, she is too hot to be on Ellens arm.
