I've long been a fan of tabletop and computer roleplaying game, but this was the first of the Elder Scrolls series of games that I had played. It was a fairly fun game, but had some definite flaws that if worked out could have made it much better. The Good: The graphics - The graphics in this game are simply beautiful. Especially if you have the computing power to run them near top settings. The freedom - The freeform nature of the game is nicely done, and a lot of the sidequests are fun and interesting. The Bad: The Main Storyline - Unfortunately this seems to be a flaw in many freeform rpg games. Lots of development effort is spent on all the sidequests, and the main quest suffers because of it. The main storyline in this game was fairly short, and not all that interesting. The Ending - The ending of the game was not good at all. It was a huge deus-ex-machina (your character simply gets to watch as the climax takes place) and was quite a letdown. The Ugly: The lev... Read more

I really enjoyed playing this game. The first time i beat it seemed a bit too easy. but than i changed the game level to medium and it was a hard challenge. The cahracters around you change with each level you gain so the game constantly puts on a good chalange. Tons of side quests and different missions and land to explore.

I have had Oblivion for about 2 years now and I have still not gotten sick of it. Now I am not a freak. I do have a life. I DO NOT play this everyday either. But every once in a while, maybe once a week, I'll say to myself, Hmmmm... I feel like playing a game where I can live another life. A life in a world of magic, monsters, and adventure. This game would be Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls IV. So I will usually sit down and play this game for a few hours probably once or twice a week. I'm usually not a huge fan of role playing games. I have played Diablo, Diablo II, Baldur's Gate II, along with various other cheesy Playstation 1 or old Nintendo games. I can't stand most of the RPG they are coming out with now because most of these are Japanese animation/Japanimation. But the games I listed above were not. That's why I like them. Oblivion is a game where you can do whatever you want. As I said before, you can live another life. You can make potions out of ingredients you f... Read more

I've been following these games since ARENA came out in '93. Fantastic from the beginning. You can set the game level depending on your playability. Hard or easy or anywhere in between. You can go at your own pace. You don't have to follow the story at all. Plenty to do. And I love that you can own multiple homes!! Make your own potions and spells. Enchant your own equipment. Becoming a vampire kinda sucks in this game but at least you can turn back. SO many ways to go. So much to do. Just remember to SAVE OFTEN!! (As always) LOVE the game! Need high powered system to run this game smoothly and to take advantage of all the graphics but you can tone the graphics to fit your system if you only have the minimum requirements. Can't wait for the next one!

One of my favourite RPG's of the current generation - the only one I think is better is Fallout 3 which is also by Bethesda. The world you play in is pretty big, and the visuals are good too

It's an epic IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY!! One of my favorite games EVER. I don't usually sound this excited about something but I certainly do love this game, and it will more than likely bring out the inner geek in you. The game takes a huge amount of time, to complete it took me over 140 hours to finish all the quests. And even then there's more dungeons and fun stuff to do. Don't worry about the price as it is still 50 bucks but still worth it, the game starts out rather slow and is VERY CONFUSING in the begining but once you get the hang of things and understand what you need to do and how to do it, you'll love it.

The best game ever created. Excellent gameplay and graphics, worth the $50.00 to buy. You will just be astounded by the quality of the game. Great job.

The best game ever! Its addictive but in a good way and it feels like it never ends. The only problem is that it is hard to resist using the "cheat codes" and if you do, then the game is too easy because the cheat codes have already built you charecter up(thats the point of the game)!
