Wed Jun 30 2010Used to love this place in college! Good food for a reasonable price and 1/2 the time Jerry Tarkanian was hanging out in there. I went back recently (within the last year), not once but twice with two different groups of family and friends. Noticed that the menu had changed and the prices went up a bit, but I still liked the food. I was the only person in both groups who felt that way. the other 4-8 people who were with me (most had never been there before)commented that they would not be going back. They may have felt that way partly because of the really slow service we encountered both times, when we were one of like 3 parties in the whole restaurant. The manager, or owner or whoever, came out one of the times and tried to make small talk and apologize. I hate to say it, but I'm guessing this place won't outlast this lousy economy. I have heard others complaining about the drab looking inside and quality of the food. Maybe someone should call Gordon Ramsey and see if "Kitc... Read more

Mon Jan 18 2010As a college student - I used to like to hang here - in the past year they changed the menu, hired snotty staff, and the atmosphere just reeks with old and cold. Save your money - go North in Fresno!!!

Fri Dec 19 2008The food was overpriced and not worth it. The atmosphere was drab and depressing. The crowd were much older men. Our waitress was a blonde miss with a bad attitude and was more interested in showing off her implants than giving good service. I will never enter that place again.

Sun Aug 31 2008Sad inside. Service was a bunch of people who really didn't care. Food was boring. Tried the place several times. Didn't really see baseball on or the Kentucy Derby. STill I went there, thinking it would be something kinda special. NOT! Lots of old reputation but nothing to back it up. Very disappointed.

Mon Jun 26 2006This is not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is good, the service is friendly, and it's one of the best restaurants for socializing in Fresno.

Wed Jun 21 2006The Elbow Room is Great for Lunch and light entertaining, but for some of the best dining in the Central Valley don't miss the Chef's Table connected.

Tue Jan 17 2006The patio is nice to dine in good weather. The inside is dark & cavelike. Out dated decor. Reminds me of Reno. Food is OK, but inconsistant, sometimes great, sometimes not. I work in the area so I dine with co-workers frequently for lunch. If you are not the who's who, you might not get the best service. Sad but true...

Sun Aug 17 2003The Scene The Elbow Room is a combination bar and restaurant where business people congregate after work to unwind and enjoy the casual atmosphere. Service reflects the friendliness of Fresno as a whole. Patio dining is available. The Food Signature items include the steak sandwich covered with melted cheese and onion rings, but other sandwiches and burgers are equally good. Hearty pastas include the Southwest with chicken and cajun spices, lobster pasta or portobello mushroom-stuffed ravioli. For the mushroom lover, portobellos also appear in a mouth-watering appetizer. Dish to Die For Try the bacon cheeseburger, one of the city's best.

Sat Jul 06 2002Located in Figarden Village in Northwest Fresno, this gem was a great watering hole when it was located across the street. Moving several years ago only enhanced its food, service and decor. Before a game, during a game, or after a game, there is no better place to be to wet your whistle and admire Fresno's beauties. Don't forget to try to lamb shanks and mushroom appitizers!

Fri Jun 07 2002The food here is excellent. It's reasonably priced and you get a lot of quality food. The wine selection is phenomenal. Best items on the menu portobello mushroom appetizer, steak sandwich and glazed porkchops when they have them. I highly recommend the Elbow Room!
