Angel Stadium is as far from an enjoyable baseball experience as I've ever seen. A former football stadium, it's a cold environment even though the seats are too close together. The view to the outfield is of a clumsy rock fountain and the 57 Freeway, a reminder of what you're facing trying to leave the park later. It's a waste of space where they could block the view (please!) and sell more seats to catch home runs and yell to your favorite athlete. The stadium is oriented in the wrong direction by about 90 degrees. It goes through the pre-game rituals but we are constantly bombarded with Aren't the Angels Great vintage videos and the songs haven't changed in years. There are no MLB update news videos, very very few replays (!!!), and the sound system is unintelligible, even in the best Field Level seats. The announcer introduces the Angels batter with a flourish, but can only manage the last name of the opposing team's batter. The Angel fans are unbiased; they hate every opposing tea... Read more

The Disney features added when they owned the team to this park make it more of a cartoon than a real ballpark. A major problem is that seating is somehow always strained ... no matter where you sit you are always looking in the wrong direction, squeezed into seats, or something that makes your viewing uncomfortable. Not a park worth visiting, and I feel sorry for the home town fans who have to endure it regularly.

This one is OK. Instead of remodeling the old Anaheim Stadium, they should have just gotten a brand new stadium.

Been there once in '96 (when the team was the California Angels and it was a football stadium) and once in '04 (well after it was converted to baseball-only). Hard to believe, but I liked it better before. The park is just way too Disneyfied, full of gimmicks, bells and whistles that distract from the game. And while their much-hyped fans show up in decent numbers and wear red, they have about as much passion as an IRS auditor.

I liked it. I cant really put my finger on one spectacular thing, but it was just fun. The geahics and sounds accrentuated the atmosphere. I was wearing my teams colors and the Angels fans were just cool. Refreshing after so many A holes in other stadiums spouting obnoxious unclever statements

Edison Field (formerly Anaheim Stadium) is not only a far upgrade from the former baseball/football hybrid ballyard, but also has one of the funnest environments ever created for baseball. From the time you enter through the front enterance of Edison Field, with its playful giant Angels helmets and view of the beautiful California Spectacular gyser and firework shooting rock formation beyond centerfield you enter a world apart from the day's worries. The new open outfield configuration of the stadium allows spectators to view Southern California's snow-capped 11,000 foot tall Mt. Baldy to the north and the 57 freeway beyond right-center field (this lights up quite nicely at night, with its unending stream of red and white). Perhaps Edison Field's presentation of pregame ceremonies is not traditional, but it is by far the most engaging that I have experienced in my travels around the league. The sound system is one of the finest and is used with great finesse along with the Jumbotro... Read more

I can't understand why people rate Edison Field so low. This ballpark has come a long way from it's former design to now. It's a beautiful ballyard and an excellent place to enjoy a ballgame with the family. I'm a lifelong Angels fan so you can call me biased if you like but my opinion won't change!

I made the trip to OC for an Angels game for the first time in about six years this summer. I don't think I'll do it again. The sightlines were bad from the upper deck first base seat I had. That fountain they lifted from Frontierland. Ungodly blasting surround-sound music. There's no "there" there.

After a 1997 baseball only overhaul, the former Anaheim Stadium looks the best it ever has. The removal of the 1980 football enclosed outfield opened up views of the local mountains and eliminates the former claustrophobic confines. All concourses have been completely renovated with the club/suite level receiving generous upgrades. Every seat has been replaced. The entire structure behind home plate was ripped out and replaced from the field level to just below the upper deck. Restricted access field level club "diamond" seats have been added with a plush bar, patio and dining area. Even a new open backstop screen was added so you can catch a foul ball (the old screen canopy prevented that). If you can afford it it's a great seat. Just above that is the tiered press box with a few suites. I hate the stacked bullpens, which further remove the fans from the action, and the fountian in centerfield is a bit too opressive, taking up too much potential seating area, beyond the stand... As a person who grew up in Orange County worshiping the Angels (why, don't ask), I was disgraced at Disney's remodel. The pavillion in centerfield looks like a pile of dookie! Sorry Mickey, this isn't Disneyland, it's a ballpark!
