Tue Jul 12 2011On Monday March 21st I rented a car from a small location at 7975 San Fernando road. Sun Valley, ca, 91352. Their phone number is (818) 767-8816. The rate was $36/day and I had a 200 mile a day deal. I rented the car for 3 days. I was scheduled to go to San Francisco from Monday 3/21 through Tuesday 3/22, it was a short trip so I had a tight schedule to complete all my tasks on very little time. On the Morning of Tuesday March 22 I was on my way to my first scheduled stop and on the way the car started to make a very loud and frightening grinding sound. I started to become alarmed but was trying to remain calm as the sound kept coming and going, after 10 minutes of this my concerns became greater and greater as the car continued to make the sound and it increasingly got worse very quickly. I stopped and immediately called EZ rental hoping for assistance as my whole trip would be a waste if I did not resolve the problem in a timely manner. I was told by the man on the phone that the no... Read more

Mon Apr 18 2011Reserved a minivan in Cancun, Mexico. Upon arrival, despite the fact that there were 3 minivans sitting in the lot, we were told that no minivans were available (I suspect because we got a good rate). The representatives were so incredibly rude, told us we would have to pay for two separate cars at a rate nearly as high as the minivan and that we could ask other companies if they had a minivan available if we were upset (and they wouldn't let us use their telephone!). Having no other options, we rented two small cars and paid more than double what we should have (because we had to get the mandatory insurance on both cars). Worst experience ever. Do NOT use.

Thu Feb 10 2011This is hands down the worst car rental experience I've ever had. First, after being promised a car seat by the agent at the 800 number, I arrived at the Cancun office to be told that none was available. When I asked the agent if he could call a different office to see if we could find one, he pretended not to understand what I was asking. After driving for two hours with my two-year-old on my lap, I found another office. That agent said he didn't have one either, but he at least called a third office, which also didn't have one. A week later, when we returned the car, the agents said we damaged the front bumper. Never mind that the rental agreement showed a mark in the exact spot on the car where they said we damaged it. Their claim was that the scribble on the paper indicated a scratch but we returned it with a dent. We could get no answer out of them other than a constant reassurance to just not worry about it and let them shuttle us to the airport, but when we got home our ... Read more

Thu Sep 09 2010we went to south africa for the world cup. our travel agent booked us a car with eurpocar/alamo. for 16 days it was meant to cost $495. i signed a waiver which in every other contract means decline a service for their insurance since my visa card covers collision damage. we had a defective tire and returned the car, was told we could get a new car and there was no charge for the bad tire. the car was returned and i wanted a receipt for what we were to be charged and was told it was the amount quoted from my travel agent. five days later i see a charge for $971! my signing the waiver meant i declined full coverage but accepted standard coverage. the defective gps which was meant to be included, the main reason i had the agent do the booking, was $8/day. heaps of miscellaneous fees, surcharges taxes. i issued a dispute with my credit card company, bank of america, with very little relief. two weeks later a charge of $219 was put on for tire damage! i could buy four tires for that kia for... Thu Jul 29 2010I read a recent post by someone concerning E-Z Rent in Orlando (6/10)...and to my surprise I did not have the same experience. I rented from E-Z July 18-22 in Ft. Lauderdale and it was quick, smooth and great! I did my research before I made a decision. The car rate is extremely inexpensive, the service was great. It didn't take us long to get the rental paperwork, the car and be on our merry way. If you are someone that travels often, you should already be prepared with some type of navigation system (most cell phones now and days have it...maybe some folks should try it; if that is not an option people can always google where they need to go too.) We were provided with a brand new "Hynudai Sonata" and it was very clean and a really, really nice car. What better way to test drive a car if you are in the market for a new purchase. (smile) This was a full size car with lots of luxury, MP3/XM radio, hook up for your I-Pod etc....at a mid-size price, since we chose to upgrade fro... Read more

Tue Jun 08 2010When renting a car for a week in Orlando I was initially greeted unpleasantly by staff within the airport. Things went down hill from there. The EZ employee in the garage kiosk was rude, acted with disdain at my asking directions and could not even provide a map of the area. The car I was provided was dirty. Upon returning the car on a Saturday morning I was greeted by a long line of people with understandably short tempers because of the terrible return service. There was one employee working feverishly to check in over a dozen cars. I must have waited 15 minutes or more before I was even spoken to by the attendant. While this experience was a minor irritation, I will certainly not rent from EZ again. My fellow employees will not rent from EZ. I highly recommend others not rent from EZ unless they enjoy poor service and dirty cars. Renter beware!!!

Mon Aug 17 2009Insurance scam. Web site full of lies. Their web site is full of lies. After I agreed to a certain fee on the reservation contract, they would not give me the car unless I agreed to pay 50% more than what was written on the reservation. They later never agreed to reimburse me or apologize. And they still have the same lies on their web site. Do not trust them. I complained to the Better Business Bureau about them, and they would not even reply to the BBB. Be warned: these people are liars, con artists and thieves. I will join any class action lawsuit against them. It was for a car in San Jose, Costa Rica. On the reservation page, the only insurances mentioned were: CDW, at $3 a day. SLI/PAI at $3 a day. On the web page of the company, that was the same thing (and still is): http://www.e-zrentacar.com/policies~action-show+rental_car_location-San_Jose_Costa_Rica.html I even sent an email before leaving to make sure that was correct, and I did not receive an answer. When I arrived in Co... Read more

Wed Aug 05 2009Don't rent a car from them. My overall experience with them was terrible. I had to wait forever at the airport (after a very long transatlantic flight) at LAX for the shuttle bus, which at first was unrecognizable because it did not have their logo on it. The car they gave me was not in top shape, it had over 39 thousand miles on it and it was pretty worn out. They told me it had 1/4 tank of gas in it, but when I started the car, it only had 1/8 of a tank, not enough to even get me to my hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, I discovered there were ants all over, apparently "living" inside the driver side door! Then, days later, I discovered the car had a bald tire, so bald that the metal part was showing. Since they were not able to send someone out to me to swap the car out, I had to drive 40 miles back to the rental office on the bald tire to swap the car. I was lucky to get there without a blowout. When I finally dropped the car off at the end of my stay, they had the nerve to ask me... Read more

Sat Apr 25 2009E-Z Rent-A-Car (High Country Rental) in Anchorage, Alaska was alright. There is no airport pick up and when I got to their off-airport office, no car was available. The staff was going to upgrade me free for one day and I was going to have to come back to switch cars. Not a good start! Staff told me to come back in a couple of hours and they would have a car. I had reserved a mid-size (jetta) car and ended up with a VW Bug (broken windshield, 2 door compact and a Stick to boot)! Not the car to get 60 year old Aunties in and out of! Took the bug back the next day with a burned out headlight. After 5 hours of no car waiting for them to get it fixed (they did offer to bring it to me), they finally called to tell me it was ready and they had decided to upgrade me (for free) to a Ford Explorer. The staff met me at a local hotel and everything was alright. So, no airport pickup (unless you want to pay 8% more), no drop off if your flight is before or after their operating hours (... Sun Apr 27 2008They don't have an office at the airport in Cancun, and we waited 45 minutes for someone to show up before renting through someone else. Don't waste your time with them in Cancun.
