Wed Feb 23 2011A coworker recently gave me a bottle of VS. Glad I stopped by here before opening. Bad sign ladies when the only people that liked it add soda to it. You aren't liking the spirit, you like the soda. I can add every bodily fluid I have to your soda and you would gulp it up if I told you it was high end liquer. Looks like I'll be giving it as my secret santa gift this year.

Sun Dec 26 2010E & J must stand for "Earwax and Jism." Absolutely vile tasting swill. When you read positive reviews for brandy that extol how well it mixes with Coke, you have to know it's bat urine.

Sat Dec 11 2010Not expensive. Has a better/smoother taste than Korbel in my oppinion. I mix it with diet coke on the rocks.

Tue Mar 09 2010we bought two E an J brandy 1.75ml bottles when on sale, to keep for later use. these were stored in a dark, cool, dry place. after a year we opened one and it had zero alcohol taste or smell. we opened the 2nd and it too had no alcohol nor alcohol taste. we tossed the bottles out. perhaps their seal was defective. we have switched to christian brothers as our cheap brandy for mixed drinks. once cheated we never go back,

Tue Mar 02 2010If you like brandy steer clear of this swill. It will put a hurt on your throat with a burn that feels like drinking racing fuel. The taste is decent at best, but you will regret every sip of this brandy, unless you are a puss and mix your brandy with juice or pop. That's about the only way it can be consumed, although I've heard that you can use it in your lawnmower or weed whip.

Sun Dec 20 2009I think this brandy is pretty good. I tried it at a tasting and thought it was a deal for $7.50. Not the best in the world, but it has a decent flavor and defiantly good winter time drink for the money.

Sat Sep 19 2009Best if enjoyed over ice and Cola I prefer Paul Mason and a Cola though goes much smoother if you know what I mean.

Sat Sep 05 2009Excellent, excellent brandy. Not "for the price" - excellent period! Tastes much better than Christian Brothers and even brandies that are considerably more expensive. Smooth and delicious!

Sat Jul 18 2009Not a bad value. It actually tastes pretty good straight and is cheap.

Fri Jun 05 2009I'm surprised the harsh reviews for this brandy. This stuff costs less than ten bucks a bottle. What did you all expect? For the price, I decent brandy.

Thu May 21 2009Harsh, fairly disgusting, but it gets the job done - and cheaply, I might add.

Wed Sep 03 2008Me and my roommate began drinking this extra ordinary drink early one Saturday morning, after drinking around 3 glasses a piece we realized we could no longer feel our faces, needless to say this drink brings out the underlying aggression in any good hearted American. My roommate ripped a water fountain out of the wall while proceeded to break a street sign and toss in (spartan warrior style) through an unsuspecting Mcdonalds drive thru window. Neither of us could recall these events but we learned of them through the 4 girls we woke up with the next morning. Apparently this drink also contains a small amount of pheromones in it (similar to the popularized cologne "sex panther"). So if you are looking for a wildly violent or possibly romantic night this drink is for you.

Sun Dec 17 2006Christian Brothers is better in the same price range. Paul Masson Grand Amber is much better and only slightly more expensive.

Mon Oct 23 2006While I don't claim to be an expert on brandy, this stuff is pretty bad. It burns the tongue and the flavor is nothing to write home about. Then again, I got it for $5.00, so I don't know what I expected.

Thu Sep 21 2006E&J; is comparable to Christian Brothers & Paul Masson for enjoyability. It's not harsh like Monarch and low end "mixing" brandies. It's a good value, & I enjoy it over an ice cube. Please drink sensibly.

Thu Jun 22 2006Everyone on here that said this product wasn't good can suck my balls...

Fri May 12 2006Of the domestic brandies I have tried, this was the worst - but I was trying to avoid the worst of them, so that is saying something. I found it to be hot and harsh and lacking in appreciable flavor (perhaps my tongue had been numbed by the harshness). Not recommeded.

Mon Jan 30 2006I found it to be about the best house brandy out there. I've been to places that the house brandy is Christian borthers, which is complete Rot Gut IMHO. A previous poster stated YGWYPF, which I agree with, but for being a house brandy, this is not a bad thing. As for another poster saying this brings out the worst in a person, I believe it is the person, not the drink, that shows ones true colors.

Sat Nov 13 2004It tastes HORRIBLE and to top it off, I don't know if anyone notices the kind of side effects it has.....it brings out the bad person in whoever drinks it and it is guaranteed to bring about domestic violence.....trust me, I know.
