Wed Sep 24 2008I see idiots of all ages on the road everyday, so I'm not going to single out teens for reckless driving abuse. However, I must confess that when I recieved my first drivers license at age 16, I rushed down to the nearest automobile dealership, conned the salesman into letting me take a '54 Chevy convertible out for a test drive, put the top up to see how fast it would go, and totaled it.Luckily, no humans or animals were harmed in the course of this experiment.

Fri Nov 23 2007I rarely see a teen driving recklessly, I see more 20 plus and 30 plus driving like dang idiots, and holding cell phones, I am 38, so I can boldy say: Cut the teens some slack!, I know several lawyers that drive like their life depended on it, driving insanly, and zig zaging through traffic like wild asses, I know, I work with Attorneys.

Fri Nov 23 2007I agree with ThunderForce2. This is one department you can't just blame on the teens. I think the adults ought to set an example for these young people, then maybe you would see some results.

Tue Jan 02 2007"Teens"? Every adult does this on the DC beltway as far as I'm concerned. . .

Tue Jan 02 2007I agree with Andrew 100% on this review. Too many teenagers are either maimed, crippled or just killed in stupid car accidents that could have been prevented if they weren't showing off trying to act and look cool for their friends or for any reason whatsoever. I always get so sick to my stomach when I watch on the news about dead teenagers on the side of the road because they were being reckless. It is so sad, and I do think parents need to be more aggressive in keeping their teens under control when it comes to driving, or at least as much as they possibly can.

Tue Jan 02 2007Too many high school kids in America wind up in tragic car wrecks. Too often because the driver used their new license to demonstrate recklessness instead of adult responsibility. On other topics, parents can choose to sweat the small stuff. However, on driving responsiblity, it's one time to be a hard ass.

Mon Mar 13 2006We all did it but again, those who did it the most in my teens were kids who lacked dicipline in a lot of other areas too. I'd like to think its the same today, maybe not.

Sun Mar 12 2006Very true, but it's rated less than a 5 because of one key thing. In my town, especially, the average age for a "reckless" driver is more like 30 years old. These people talk on their phones, put on their make up, argue with their children or passengers, speed etc. It's the same for DUI; the average age for most places is around 30-40.

Mon Jan 30 2006There's a lot of adults that do this too...

Mon Jan 30 2006This one is potentially deadly.I see it often. These kids grow up playing videos and watching car chases in movies, and when they get behind the wheel of a real-life car, they do not realize how easy it is to have a serious accident.Of course, adults are guilty of this, too.

Mon Jan 30 2006I don't know that I ever did this to be "cool." Unfortunately, I think it was just a natural state of affairs for me. Probably is for most teenagers.

Mon Jan 30 2006I don't know who is more nuts...the kids driving these suped-up, 300hp street racers, or the moronic parents who either front the dough or condon their kids for having them. I don't know about you, though, but from what I've observed lately, the craziest drivers seem to be the young girls these days. Go figure.

Fri Jan 27 2006Mix in the drugs and booze, and you have something really stupid. I, like many other people, was not really ready to handle drinking or a drivers license. Luckily, no one else paid for my stupidity with their life.

Thu Jan 26 2006When I was a teenager my whole life revolved around how much faster I could make my 300zx go. In retrospect this was absolutely freaking stupid! I racked up numerous speeding tickets, lost my license numerous times and totalled two cars, all for what? To impress a bunch of buddies who'd probably miss my funeral had I impaled myself on the divider or went off the side of a bridge. When I look back how stupid and reckless I was when I was younger I get physically ill. Yet, there's other Lance's out there right now doing the same stupid ass stuff. I just thank God her spared my life for a later date.

Wed Jan 25 2006Before giving them their license, parents must see if their kids are mature enough to get behind the wheel of a 2,000lb killing machine.
