Not only lacks class, but anybody that would do this is in need of a brain transplant. If a person don't care enough for their own life, they should at least keep in consideration someone else's.

The issue isn't class. The issue is criminal irresponsibility.

Are you too cheap to pay for a taxi or do you just not care if you instigate an accident? I've known a few people who've died in alcohol related car accidents. And not with them as the drunken driver. It's such a waste.

this is just stupidity. my mother did blood alcohols fot the state of utah when i was younger and what it was she did is if their was an accident anytime between 5pm-8am she would be called to either the scene of the accident ,the jail or the hospital to take blood from all parties involved . there were plenty of mornings when it was typical to open the fridge and see vials of peoples blood in there. its kind scary to think about that now but that was before aids. i remember some of the worst ones she went out on and thats because they would be so horrific that she would actually be ill for a day or two and let me tell you my mother doesnt dislike a whole lot its not part of her nature but she does detest drunk drivers. she went on one call to the scene of the accident which involved a man and woman on a motorcycle who had just left the bar no helmets and only he had on a leather jacket he proceeded on to the freeway and at high speed and impaired judgement slammed into the back of a ... It is not only selfish and thoughtless, it is one of the number one road killers apart from sleeping at the wheel. So many fatalities or serious, painful injuries have resulted from drinking and driving. People do it because they think 'a crash won't happen to me, I feel fine now, I'll just go easy' then they end up having a crash. Alcohol in your system slows your reflexes, impairs brain function and co-ordination and concentration, which are the essential things necessary to be a good driver. Having a crash is not only physically bad, it is also emotionally devastating, for the person who was responsible, and for the victim who got hurt because of their actions, and for their families. It is like, everyone looses. The culprit is not the only one who ends up suffering. If any one drinks, and even has the slightest queasy or dizzy feeling, get either a friend who hasn't drunken at all, or get a taxi home.

In college, I was always the designated driver because I've never been all that into drinking so much you'll wake up with a migrane and throwing up half your intestines (pretty picture, isn't it?). For those who need to know how they can get home from the bar you can always call a cab, walk or bring along someone like a designated driver. Use your brain (obviously your liver is going to be busy),

The saddest part about drinking and driving is that the person who's driving under the influence and causes an accident doesn't get hurt. Unbelievably irresponsible. People have a right to drive without being killed because someone else is so irresponsible.

More than low class - it's criminal behavior. Drunks behind the wheel have probably killed as many or more people than handguns. Selfish and stupid to boot.

P.C. junk. Everybody's done it. Everybody on the road Friday night is going to do it. You are not an innocent victim if you drive after 10 p.m. on an American road. You run the risks like everyone else. Drinking and driving is a serious crime when done repeatedly but .08? That's a joke. I've had doctors that I would trust with that low level to work on me. . . Considering that at least 20-30 percent of late night weekend drivers are tanked, I'd say Americans are doing a fine job of getting the car back to the house.

NOT woth it. Do it a hundred times, then the 1 time it is tragic. Walk or take a cab.

Idiotic. Unfortunately, often the drunk drivers kill others but they come out of the accident unscathed. I was on jury duty once and the case involved 3 people dying and the fourth passenger injured (lost her husband and 2 good friends). Another vehicle driven by an intoxicated man had slammed into them when he went through a red light. He wasn't hurt at all.

Not only a lack of class--but a lack of empathy, for drunk drivers can kill!

So many have been killed due to drinking and driving -- yet there are some who still do it. They just don't get it, do they?!

Very selfish indeed. Many lives wasted by this stupidity. Wasn't this one of George W Bush's hobbies? Very interesting.

Like playing Russian Roulette, only with the gun at someone else's head. It's scary just how many people I know who have died this way, and usually because of someone ELSE who was doing it.
