Tue Nov 02 20104 stars These are hot shoes! I love them... And not everyone will- which is just like anything in life. I think they will always be a big part of fashion for years to come, just as they always have been. Wear them with whateverrr! Express yourself! If you're wearing them for a reason other than industrial, you most def have the confidence to pull it off! RACQUEL**.

Sat Feb 20 2010Got some Cecil Boots in December. Had to have them replaced in January because the soles came off of both boots. Just a week ago teh soles came off of the new pair. Doc's are trash now. And for Gods sake if you do buy a pair don't buy them at Journey's. They'll make you pay for the shipping back to have them "evaluated" and then tell you that nothing is wrong with them.

Tue Feb 09 2010Been wearing Docs since 1993, so you might be able to guess that I love them. They are durable and look great. To be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with this brand. They are comfortable, but wearing them too long can be excruciating. Breaking them in is a chore and a half but made better by Dr. Scholl's heel liners. Some of my shoes have made an air-woosh noise when I walk, and one pair I bought in Kilkenny, Ireland went and busted, the sole splitting from the shoe, within a few months of purchase. But I still love my Docs, flaws and all. Even the broken Kilkenny shoes still wear fine. I just ignore the split. I recommend them to people who like their rather gothic styling and durability (in general), also to people who don't mind their more tough-on-you aspects.

Sat Feb 14 2009Got my first pair, after admiring them in Clash videos for years. Was very disappointed in the quality, and took back the boots due to some missed stitches. Second pair went in for repairs when some stitches pulled out. The soles have now self destructed after less than a year of extensive winter wear. They are comfortable, and look great, but build and material quality is some of the worst I have ever seen! If you must have a pair, baby them. They are good for cosmetic purposes only.

Tue Jan 08 2008great shoes : ) i had one pair before these and they were used : ( but even that used pair lasted me years i got these new ones last week for $59 on sportsmansguide they are the classic 8 hols style with soft (brown only) leather, and they are freaking great i just got the dr. martens shoe care kit and i plan to use it asap. as for comfort : ) once they break in that is also they make a dr. marten insole you can get it on the doc website for like $12 (i never thought docs could be any more comfortable then that already were, but with the doc brand insoles these feel even better then my old florishems i used when waiting tables : )

Sat Oct 13 2007I got my first pair of Doc Martens a couple weeks ago. After having had my eye on a pair since I was 14, seven years later I finally dished some money out and spoiled myself with black 10-eyelet steel-toe army boots. I work 12-hour shifts in the market, and toughed out the week-and-a-half breaking in process without switching shoes the whole time even though it was torturous sometimes. My feet being used to skate shoes ever since I can remember, I had some blisters, bruising and went through a box of bandaids. Sometimes by the end of the day I limped home and seriously thought going to the doctor because I thought I had a broken toe (my foot was just getting used to new angles and cushioning). Now the breaking in process is finally over, and I can honestly say I love my Docs! They are molded to my feet, I can walk and run naturally in them and they no longer have that weird new stiff uniformal look. The most comfortable socks to wear with them I find are wool-cotton trail socks, with n... Read more

Sun Jan 01 2006I have a pair of 0939CH Aztec Crazy Horse. I've heard a lot about them and saw punks, not preppies, wearing those. Word of mouth says they are of outstanding quality and highly comfortable, that's why they're so expensive. Originally from Germany, now in Britain, however they're made in China...still very expensive (don't be surprised if they cost over $100). Well I decided to try them recently and spent a Benjamin on those. They looked nice, the rest in DSW had heels that were too high and reminded me of female platform shoes. Dr. Martens (DMs) are unisex, so some of their styles look feminine. When I picked them up, you can tell the soles are of top notch quality, they are soft and grip really well (resistant to just about anything, but remember even though they're resistant, they're not meant to ensure you'll never slip). You can hear the soles grip the ground when you're walking, even on concrete. The signature yellow stitching meant these shoes where going to last. The leather is ... Read more

Sun May 01 2005I bought my first pair of Dr. Martens a few months ago and I have absolutely loved them. They match perfectly with any preppy outfit. They are generally pretty expensive shoes but they have great quality.
