Fri Jun 19 2009Dr. Westlake is a wonderful man of God. His television show did appear in KC, not Detroit. I am attending a bible study on the prophesies of Daniel and Revelation right now at Sheffield Family Life Center, and it's awesome.

Tue Sep 23 2008Philoah, you couldn't be more wrong about his teaching... of all people, Dr. Westlake teaches salvation "purely by faith"... I challenge you to provide some form of evidence to the contrary... which won't be found, if taken in context. If you don't respond, you admit your error. This is a "core doctrine" of the Christian faith, and there can be NO room for "adding to" ones' salvation...I'm sure he would repeat Pauls' cry "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God"... that even the "faith" is not of ourselves, but of God!! How can a mere mortal "add to" something an infinite GOD >gave< us? Absurd...I plan on contacting him to see if he'll respond himself.Regarding "losing" your salvation. As quoted above, it's a >gift< from God that we personally have to >receive<. It's not forced upon us, we have the personal volition and decision to accept it, or leave it. Likewise, as any gift, if we decide we don't like it anymore, or we m... Read more

Mon Aug 27 2007I am looking for information on musical instruments in the new testament. I had never heard that some did not believe in musical instruments in the church and even catagorizied it as sin. I wondered if there is any verses that would support it. I searched and I think that this issue should really not matter. It seems it takes away from what the new testament is really about and that is Jesus. However, if I am gonna have a discussion with someone who does truly believe in this then I want it to be a intelligent one with scripture. Please help me...

Thu Jun 23 2005Amazing how many TV/radio preachers come out of my home area: KC. And how many teach erroneously about salvation. Westlake continues today's trend in churches and media ministries of teaching the false gospel that you are saved by trusting in Christ for salvation-PLUS something else from you--which is in fact is the adding of commitment and works. Westlake also teaches that you salvation is not necessarily permanent; that is can be lost. I think that Paul had something to say about those who add works, commitment to works as a condition for salvation. (Gal 1:6-9)
