I was looking for a system for my daughter but most of the computers there were not the Newer Intel processors I wanted. But my salesperson EJ was very helpful, was able to find me a newer system in the back and even tho I was only going to get the box, he convinced me to get a Dell package with a flat panel monitor and now my wife is happy cause she gets a new screen out of it. Great prices on some other stuff like photo paper and some speakers.. overall I had a good time shopping there.

Had a good experience shopping there 2 weeks back, went in looking for a replacement ink cartridge for a printer I bought there in January but they didn't carry any. But the sales guy.. I can't remember his name but he looked very military, any case he was helpful... and was able to find me a place not too far that did ink refills. I didn't know I could do that.. and for half the price.. after-wards I asked some questions which I'm sure I sounded stupid, but he didn't make me feel like that.. and because of that, I ended up buying a new tower to replace my old Packard bell. I love the artwork in this store as well... but the customer service was in my book excellent.

Why would a sales person every need to talk down to you? This is the question I asked myself as I left Mr. notebook. The answer is insecurity of course. They are not sure about their products or knowledge. I'm knowlegable enough about computers to get my jobs done. So when Dude kept trying to slip terms like dropping names, I began to get suspisious and quite. He took it as if he won my respect with his word usage and contunued to dig his hole. He didn't stop untill he tried to feed me some flat out BS about Apple computers and I said. "Dude, what are you really tring to do right now?" He knew he was caught. Agressive mud slinging is no way to sell anything, much less computers. Folks are wary enough about purchasing the mystical, magic box that has become so important to our sucsess. Today I went into Discount Electronics in search of purchasing a computer. I am not too computer savvy, so I had many questions in regards to computers in general. This young sales representative named Michelle made it easy for me to feel comfortable in asking any question, and explained it in a way that was clear and understanding for me. Although I did not purchase the computer today my overall experience was great, and I highly recommend discount electronics.

If you know what you want and expect it to cost less than five dollars ( vga cables, power cables connectors) then this is your place. If you are buying anything else from HD's to Laptops this place has horrible customer service. They don't know what they are talking about and have a flipant way about finding the answer. God forbid you should ever buy anything from them ONLINE. 1) its a different store, separate from storefront so they won't help you 2) When they say they are going to do something for you like send you an RMA ticket don't expect it for three days after when they say youre getting the email. Lame lame lame. There are better places to go in town for the same things. I am a pretty easy going tolerant guy and they have not treated me well. I know this because I have worked retail and am a computer tech and so I know how to deal with customers. Discount = Cheap

I'd like to highly recommend this store for their very affordable prices and for the friendliness of their staff. From the time that I phoned to inquire as to wheter they had the part that I needed.to the time that I left the store, the person that looked after me went out of his way to make sure that I was taken care of. I'll definitely do business there again as well as mention this place to all of my friends.

I appreciated all the help I had with my questions. I am not very computer literate anymore and I was not sure what I needed. The guys that helped me out let me know what kind of features would be a waste of my money instead of trying to upsell me for a profit. They have a great store, lots of variety, affordable and the place is clean and friendly!

I have been a customer with Discount Electronics for 8 years and counting. Though, I have been using computers for 24 years and have a bit of knowledge, like most users I am lacking in a few areas. Most places I have gone, I feel I have to jump through hoops proving I'm not a total computer idiot or as if I have to educate the staff to find what I need. At Discount Electronics, I feel I can ask any question and receive an honest answer and a great value. They are still obnoxiously more educated than I am, but they give me the help I need at a good price. Each time I go in, I am looking for Michael R. because he always takes good care of me and goes the extra mile. But, everyone in there is always helpful. I really enjoy the laid-back environment, with the cool kids attitude, though still wondering when I will get my International Sandwich and Coffee! OK!....I went in on my way to work and was in a hurry with cash in pocket , ready to get a great deal on a PC....Michael one of the dudes that works there was a great tech and very service wise....Straight up , he coveyed the best deal for the money and i bought the PC. I was in and out of there in 7-10 min. He also conveyed, if anything goes wrong w/in 90 days , bring it back........I figure if something is bunk with a PC it will go wrong w/in 7 days...So far the PC has been fast and smooth and i am stoked!... Oh yeah, easy to find location , as it is right off of 183 and Lamar - South of 183..Look and you will see it :) KUDOs to D.E. of ATX :D

Not worth going to this place to get a diagnostic especially paying for it. I went in to see what was wrong with my laptop and they told me it was the motherboard. After I bought the motherboard I found out that the motherboard I already had was actually in good condition, the problem was the processor. So I had already spent money on this motherboard I didn't even need. Honestly, I would not pay any amount of money to get my laptop or any electronic repaired at this place. Espanol: Honestamente mi comentario es real, ni a mi peor enemigo le recomendaria este lugar, solo buscan la forma de enganarte diciendo que otra parte diferente y mas cara es la del problema para asi poder cobrarte mas, mucho mas, por algo que nisiquieras necesitas y tu le estas pagando por eso que ironico no!.

I have bought 3 computers from Discount Electronics in the past and got a good deal until yesterday. My wife and I purchased a used Dell computer from Discount Electronics and after we left felt that the price was to high. We went online to the Dell website and found a better computer with a year warranty and larger monitor for $35 more than we paid for an old used computer without an operating system on it. Here is a simple comparison of how over priced Discount Electronics is: their 17 inch burned out Dell used flat screens are $149 and brand new at Dell they are $189. You can be the judge on this simple comparison. We called Discount Electronics and the manager on duty told us to bad, they have a store credit return policy only. We can't have our money back. Their used products are too expensive now that new computers are so much cheaper. We will never buy another thing from Discount Electronics and they need to get up with the times and drop their prices.

Found some good buys on computer cards and accessories. Know what you want before you go in however, since the staff aren't overly friendly. Would definitely advice checking them out on basic items before going to Fry's just because they are so easy to get to. About average for a used and recycled computer shop...
