I guess it is somewhat important, but I dont feel its super important if the person is responsible and is holding down a good paying job, who cares?

Georgia College and State University, Milledgeville Georgia. Majored in Fine Arts Studio, minored in Art History. Left me with a Load of debt, but I did learn some fundamentals and overall I'm glad I went. I can see a huge difference in my Trained hand compared to what I was churning out before. I did have too much Fun though, if I could do it over, I would take it more seriously.

Now this is an interesting question depending on where you're from. If you're from the UK the college basically means A-Levels, etc. which is the 16-18 age range. Though I believe Americans refer to University as College (19+)? If that's the case then my answer is yes, I went to the University of Leicester for a BSc. in Computer Science.

Community college. No one was begging to give me a scholarship or pay for my college so I paid for it myself and managed to further my education. I'm still proud of myself for doing so especially after looking back at my school's vice principal who treated me like I was destined to be nothing.

Did the trade school thing right out of high school: Meredith Manor school of horsemanship in Waverly, WV. A couple of years later went to Findlay College in Findlay OH. Got a two year degree in equestrian studies then went a third year to take just the equestrian part.

I took a semester at SouthWest Florida College, but dropped when I found out that for $200 a credit (private college) none of my credits would transfer out of state. Since my ultimate goal was to move back to Texas (which I have yet to do), I dropped out before I wasted any more of my money on credits I'd never be able to use.

Whilst in the military, I took the Officer Professional Development Program (known as Opie Dopies) at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. I have a bachelors in military history. It was a nice school with a nice campus and the most fabulous gym I'd ever seen (it was built for the Commonwealth Games) but there were one too many marijuana adled tree huggers buzzing around.

I hate this question because i think people might critizise my life after high school. What worries me is running into a high school teacher at a bar or a grocery store because they will 99 percent ask this question. Put it this way, i was young and did not know what to do with my life after high school. If i had a interest in my heart, i would have gone to college.

I haven't gone yet, because I'm only in grade 10, but when I do go, I hope to go to Dalhousie University in Halifax and study marine biology. That's my master plan. Whether it will still be by the time I graduate, we'll see.

Well, I went to Yale (undergrad & grad) but I'm not one of those people who have this aura of self-entitlement and think the world should be handed to them on a silver platter simply because they went to a particular school (that's a vice reserved for Harvard grads ;)). And I know many people who have mind-blowing intellectual talent who haven't even gone to college...just as I know people who spend two-fifths of their lives on a college campus and are as smart as a can of hairspray.

One year at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos Texas. A beautiful countryside with the famous Guadalupe river running right through it. Reputation for party school and oh boy was it. I failed miserably, did not even go to finals. I went into the military right afterwards. I just was not mature enough to be on my own in that way at 18. I knew it then. Thats why I joined the Navy. I was not afraid of hard dicipline, my father dealt out plenty of that. Self Dicipline was what I lacked and got from the Military.

In Australia, we don't have college so I think TAFE would be the equivalent. We have high school (yrs 8-12), TAFE (the next level up) or university (highest level). TAFE stands for Technical And Further Education. TAFE is for if you want the skills to get into a respectable job yet you don't want to spend three years studying for a degree. When I went to TAFE, I got a Cert IV (management level) in business administration, certificate III in financial services (accounts clerical) and have done other courses.

Al Colins Graphic Design School, Tempe, AZ - an associates degree in computer graphics, graduated Valedictorian 1989. My education has helped in earning a living, but I learned more from living life than anyone could every read in a book.

UPDATE: Does not count, of course it counts Randyman, to have the desire to learn is always commendable. Not to underrate having a BA clutched in your sweaty palms; it helped me out once or twice, also depends greatly on the field you are going into, my doctor certainly needs a degree. I think that I might be able to find mine in storage somewhere and dust it off. I learned more about real life on my own than I ever did in college. College can be an incomplete education, sure I might be able to evaluate the merits and ramblings of the early philosophical thinkers, quote Shakespeare and rattle off a few poems by Yeats, but do I really know what they were saying or just regurgitating what a college professor felt they were saying. I did have a couple of wise teachers who allowed their students to think for themselves, and isnt that what learning is really about. Having a degree should not be the ultimate goal, but what you have learned along the way. ~~~~~University of Florida in Gainesv... Read more
