Saw a bit of this abomination last night... there was no sign of Dick Clark. Also watched part of the South Park exposé of Mickey Mouse and Disney. Hard to say which was the most outrageous parody of corporate entertainment. Where do they find so much living room talent anyway?

I'll probably watch Dick Clark on tv tonight. It's not a necessity but since I'm staying in tonight then why not.

I'm convinced that Dick Clark is really a robot. He's been around forever and looks the same. He missed this New Year's Eve because the robot is need of some repairing, but don't worry, Dick will return soon and be around for many more years.

Not necessary at all on my list. Dick Clark would have you believe he invented rock n roll, but I don't buy it.

As a baby boomer, I have good memories of Dick Clark and his rock and roll shows, but I found myself very disturbed with his rock'n new years show. His message to the older generation is, we don't care about you or your music anymore. I don't think anyone should be made to feel alienated on such a special day ... We hear a lot about being enclusive these days ... or is it just for when it suits you ....

I don't believe I really ever need to see this again. If it's on in the background and we all turn our attention to it as the last seconds approach then fine but otherwise Dick Clark can have Times Square all to himself.

I am sure Dick Clark will still be synthetically alive for the next Milleniuym party - so this is no big deal.

It is somewhat of a tradition..I don't suggest sitting and paying full attention to it all evening..but maybe have it on in the background.
