I could not believe I was hearing right when I heard this man say in an interview when asked if he has any regrets (he said something to the affect) that he does not spend time thinking about regrets, or his mistakes. What the hell?!!! Wasn't this the man who helped get us into the war in Iraq that George W. Bush now admits was over wrong information on those none existent weapons of mass destruction that resulted in the loss of our fine American soldiers and a trillion dollar war that nearly put tax payers over a financial cliff funding that trillion dollar mess? These idiots did not even take out Bin Laden who was hiding in plain sight with our allies in Pakistan. He has some nerve bashing President Obama. Obama ended that war (something Cheney and Bush started). Obama had to clean up their mess! Cheney has no shame!!! He should just quietly go away and shut up already! What a disgrace! He survived his heart problems and has lived to a ripe old age. Too bad our young soldiers ... Read more

Paul Krugman summed up very neatly the full horror of former Vice President Cheney: "Nixon was surely the worst person other than Dick Cheney ever to control the executive branch. " We will be experiencing and paying for the full damage caused by Cheney and his cohorts for a long time to come. Cheney was the ringleader of the Bush administration, and while George W. Bush has at least had the dignity to not defend his failed and/or immoral policies, such as condoning torture, since leaving office, Cheney rails against President Obama, even as American forces are making more progress against the Taliban than they did under him (after the initial overthrow)! It would almost be funny if it weren't that Cheney's policies, such as the neo-conservative "Bush Doctrine", did so much damage. They have struck at the very foundations of American government. Executive power ballooned more under Bush/Cheney than under any previous administration. The idea of separation of powers, I fear, has b... Read more

When I saw Dick Cheney in a wheelchair at the inauguration on Tuesday, I couldn't help but think of Mr. Potter in the movie "Its a Wonderful Life". Like Potter, Cheney strikes me as a conniving old bastard who is out for his own best interests (and maybe those of a few of his cronies), to hell with everybody else. What a Dick! Thankfully, many of the policies that Cheney helped create, such as the Iraq War, Guantanamo Bay prison and acceptable torture will soon be dismantled by President Obama. Cheney can now crawl back under the rock from which he came. Like George Bailey, I have seen what life was like in Pottersville, and I am mighty glad to be back in Bedford Falls.

Sinister, evil, devious, corrupt man. He is supposedly the brains (if you could call it that) behind the Let's Get Them Before They Get Us foreign policy that has proved so disastrous. UPDATE: He has been all over the media lately, justifying his actions, even saying that he and Bush left the Executive branch in fine shape, and that Obama should approve. This man has no humility. At least Bush seems to realize how his actions may have tarnished his legacy, but Cheney is just an arrogant p@@@.

Over the last several years, I have heard people accuse Cheney of being the architect of 9/11. It has been said that Bush was nothing more than his (dumb) puppet on a string, and that VP Cheney was the author of the Iraq policy, the administrations economic policy, etc. He has been roundly despised by many Democrats and defended by many Republicans. Yeah....I'd say he is polarizing.

For Cheney to be polarizing, there would actually have to have some people left in this country believing that he's anything other than the selfishly-motivated, arrogant example of self-delusion that he has proven himself to be. I haven't met anyone like that, lately, have you? He blatantly oversteps his authority and has a vested (literally) interest in perpetuating the war in Iraq. Yay, vocabulary from the 5th grade is HARD! eesh. maybe next I'll go rate Alec Baldwin :P

Lives in conspiricies and makes the world a worse place to live in by not making decisions to improve it. Like Bush, he lied, killed, and robbed. Has enough guts to say the US soldiers are still fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq.

Update:  Who put the "vice" in Vice President?  That's right, ladies and gentlemen, it's the Supreme Warlord of the United States, the Mastah of Disastah, The Ayatollah of Steamrollah, it's DIIIIIIIIIIICK CHENEY!Jabba the Hutt, but less jovial.  The Supreme Emperor of Neoconservatism (read: unfettered corporatist greed) and Boss Tweed of The Sociopathic Plutocracy.  A man with a one-trick-pony definition of what it means to be "successful."  Serious anal-retentive control freak with a mean/cruel streak a neoconservative democracy wide.  The man behind the curtains to the Great and Glorious Dubya.  One-man Constitution-wrecking crew; white version of Idi Amin, especially with respect to corrupt dealings and conflicts of interest, using political office for manipulation and personal gain...other than that, he's a hell of a shot.To all who thought he was an honorable man before getting to know him a little better, what do you think of him now?  Let's ask anyone who's been slimed and stomp... Getting beer-faced and Shooting an old man in the face is THE LEAST HORRIBLE THING that this quacking penguin (slash) weasel has ever done. It wasn't even the worst thing he did THAT DAY!!! I've got just two words for all the RNC protectionists still sucking publicly on Cheney's Di...   uh,  ...'GUN BARREL', and those two words are "War Criminal". If Dick Cheney isn't a war criminal, then that term has been un-defined downwardly - and intentionally dumbed-down till it LITERALLY means NOTHING.

This guy is so corrupt. Oh yeah, he was powerful and influencial. But not in a good way. Someone who was the former CEO of a large corporation should not be vice president because HE WONT BE REPRESENTING THE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE! He'll be representing Halliburton and will be giving them all the contracts. Of course, you can't mention Dick Cheney without mentioning the Valerie Plame affair. I mean, how stupid can you be to threaten a person's life and take away her job because her husband found out some truth that you don't like? You can't even trust this guy with a gun let alone trust him with a country! What a dick.

I can see why average Joe Democrat would vilify Dick Cheney, being the target of so much nonsensical political rhetoric, but frankly Cheney has had a rather solid career in public service. In my opinion, Cheney is a straight shooter who is intellectually honest and usually makes strong arguments for his positions (even if I don't always agree). As Secretary of Defense under Bush, Sr., Cheney had to oversee the downsizing of the military due to the end of the Cold War and conduct the first Gulf War. Given the hesitation of Congress to cut defense contracts in their home states and the complex coalition in that conflict, he was rather successful on both fronts. Moreover, Cheney has probably been the most powerful and influential Vice President (at least in recent history). As for the criticisms, I don't understand why being successful in private business should be a liability for public office. Frankly, alleging fraud and bad faith due to his interest in Halliburton is akin to claiming t... Read more

More dangerous to the American (and the planet's) people than Dubya (not to mention his hunting pals). So Cheney claims that "terrorist attacks have been avoided because of the wiretapping." But he can't give any more information about it "because of security." How convenient. That's like me boasting I've created a formula to make people invisible but I can't share it with anyone because our enemies may get their hands on the formula.

Smug, arrogant, hypocritical, deceitful....ol' "5 deferments" Cheney is evil personified. If I ever see him in public, I'll start throwing Big Macs his way... He was closing a real estate deal on a mansion in Maryland while people in New Orleans were sill on their rooftops. If he had a soul I don't think he could sleep at night...but apparently he sleeps pretty well.

Dick Cheney is a mainstream neo-con. The fact that all these liberal morons have bought into these looney conspiracy theories and held Cheney up as a boogieman doesn't make him so. The guy literally upon accepting the nomination for VP deferred all his salary owed him from Haliburton, and put all his stock options in a trust fund out of which any profit made will go directly to charity. This is just a case of liberals needing someone to demonize to justify their radical agenda.
