I lived in Denver in the late 90's. It is a very pretty city. Best place to be to if you are a sports fan. Denver loves it's sports teams. Also good place to go out and eat.

Denver is a suprisingly progressive city in a somewhat conservative state and unlike other major southwestern cities i.e.  Phoenix and Las Vegas is environmentally conscience and really making an effort to make a livable city and not have everything centered in the suburbs.  It has decent mass transit for a city its size and is close proximity to alot of great outdoor activity. The fact that Denver had an African American mayor in the not so distant pass speaks highly of its populace considering that African Americans make a small amount of the cities population.  Only knock on Denver is the summer air pollution other than that Denver is the best city in the southwest.

I have lived in Denver for my entire life and love it here. You have access to the big city or you can go into the mountains for the outdoors. The only problem is the traffic and bad drivers but if you are here long enough you get used to them. You couldn't ask for better weather either. The winters a mild and the summers are hot. It gets a little dry though. Denver is one of the best places to live in the U.S.

People don't usually think of Denver in the same breath as Chicago and New York, but this list has it right. Denver is one of the best cities in the United States. It is very beautiful, with a nice downtown and charming restaurants and bars, and is surrounded by spectacular mountains. It has a great sports scene, has a vibrant young crowd, is very outdoorsy, has some 300 days of sunshine a year, and an elaborate system of bike paths criss-cross the city. It's also quite clean and the cost of living isn't bad either. It really is a remarkably nice city and is approaching the quality and culture of much larger cities.

Denver is the cleanest, cheapest and friendliest city in the county. Its got the cleanest and friendliest neighborhoods out of any city in the county. No city even comes close

Denver is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Denver is a very, very insanely clean city that has hardly any bad neighborhoods. The Denver Public Library is a massive 7 story building at 14th and Broadway. The Denver art museum at 14th and Bannock is beautiful and they have a massive addition coming. RTD, which is Denver's public transit system is fast, clean and the drivers are all wonderful. The resurants in Denver and even more so in Colorado Springs are absolutely fantastic and affordable as well. Denver is just a great city with great people, weather and hospitality.

I love Denver. I lived there a couple of years in the mid-90s and would go back in a heartbeat if my wife were up to it. But we live in beautiful Savannah, GA now and can't complain. I'm still upset that Savannah's not on this list. But I digress... Denver is a beautiful city with a great outdoor recreation vibe. This is a city that beckons you outdoors.

Denver is by far my most favorite city in the whole country. Downtown, the burbs, all of it is just absolutely beautiful. The people are awesome, and there are just so many different types of people, I love it ! What more could you ask for in a huge city next to the Rocky Mountains?
