Del Taco's green burrito is rated a B+ in a fast food health rating agency that rates hundreds of fast food joints nationwide. Their lowest rating was a C- for their burgers...McDonalds HIGHEST rating is C-! I won't feed my grandkids that garbage. I WILL give them a burrito from DEL TACO! Red rates a B...They also make their beans fresh daily from whole beans. Bean tacos rock also. The only fast food with a health rating of B or above accept one of Arby's sandwiches.

Del Taco Denies Responsibility for Metal Object Found in Their Food Here are the facts. Less than a month ago, my husband, Christopher Muse, went to the Norwalk Del Taco located off of Studebaker and the 605 N. off ramp and ordered a bean and cheese burrito with the fiesta pack. When he bit into his meal he also bit into a piece of metal that had been wrapped into the burrito and ended up chipping and cracking his tooth. We immediately contacted the local and county health department along with the Del Taco Corporation. The health department did an inspection and couldn’t find any other pieces of metal but did find multiple health violations and ended up lowering the restaurant’s grade to a C. As for the Del Taco Corporation, they asked for us to send them the metal piece along with a copy of our receipt so they could investigate. After their investigation they called us back saying they could not identify where the piece came from and therefore are denying any and all responsibility ... Read more

So much better than Taco Bell! The prices are reasonable and the food is wonderful.

I grew up with Del Taco and it's former competion Naugles in a town of Lancaster,CA. I prefered Naugles a little bit better. Funny that they were both started by the same guy! I still enjoy Del Taco when I manage to get near one. Living in fly-over country now....

A pale imitation of Taco Bell.   Update: After a long, hard day of yardwork, running errands and trip to Home Depot, I was hot, tired and HUNGRY, and my wife and I just needed a quick fix, so we decided to stop at De Taco, which is located inside the parking lot area of  the local Home Depot. I was looking for something convenient, quick and filling. To my surprise they have improved since the last time I ate at one of their restaurants, (if Del Taco can be called a restaurant). I had a Beef Macho Burrito, A Beef Macho Taco and a Fish Taco, all of them, if not authentic, were at least good, although the hot sauce leaves al ot to be desired. My wife had the Fish & Papas (potatoes, in this case fries), which did not look so hot to me, but she said she enjoyed them, however they looked nothing like the photo on the window and menu, but like I said, my wife did enjoy them. I'll give it an extra star.

Pretty Good. Not as great as Taco Bell, but still tasty. I love their tacos del carbon, but it is sad that their Dan's deal is now gone.

They have great cheese quessadillas :) And their sauce is the best. But they have the worst employees, I wonder where they recruit?

Plenty of fast food places in California that are better. Otherwise...better than Taco Hell if you live in flyoverland.

Pretty cheap for a fast food taco chain. I almost always get the soft chicken tacos without the secret sauce (healthier that way). I used to be addicted to their big fat tacos.

We finally got a Del Taco here in Michigan but it's on the other side of town and I have not been able to make it there as of yet. I was always curious when I saw 'Del Taco' on the dasher-boards at hockey games in Anaheim and LA. (Wings Fan) I checked out their menu on the internet and it looks pretty appealing. I think it's about time Taco Bell had some competition here. I'll let you know when I eat there.

I used to work at one of these dumps when I was a teenage. You don't want to know about the food prep.

Del Taco is a jewel in the fast food industy in the sense that you can get full on less than 5 bucks. The Tacos are small, yet tasty, their beans are actually REAL, unlike the goo that Taco Bells serves, and they combine two great foods..Fries and Tacos. Whenever I go to a place that has del Tacos like southern california, I make sure I go there on more than one occasion. So they're definitely the best combination of being cheap yet tasty. Luckilly they're expanding, so perhaps one day they will come to my town.

Okay if you have never eaten at Del Taco this is what you can do. Go to Taco Bell order a bunch of food, take it home and sit all of the food on the floor. Okay now the fun part, take a steaming crap on all of the food then eat it...THAT IS DEL TACO!!!

I've given DT a few chances now and the last time I got a DT bean burrito and a Taco Bell bean burrito and took them both home and had them side by side and I threw the DT away after two small bites and relished the TC one: that is the sure-fire test and I'm done giving chances to DT. It just had a kind of heavy, earthy taste or something-how I might imagine dog food tasting-seriously-but then what can one expect from a place serving Mexican and burgers/fries etc.?....

I eat at Del Taco just about every day for lunch. The best thing on the menu? Spicy chicken burrito (but you have to ask for them to add onions). Not a big fan of the fries but love the food. As someone else said the burgers aren't half bad either. Cheap Tasty food...

I've enjoyed Del Tacos food quite a bit. They have a diversified menu with food that is relatively fresh. Suprisingly they also make a good Cheeseburger. Try it out sometime.
