I have always thought of Dawn dish soap as the best. BUT, I now think it's fallen into the hands of penny pinchers. The liquid is thinner, does not hold suds and does not clean dishes well anymore. I will never buy thit product again. I had been buying it for over 15 yrs. CHEAP it what this world is coming to. Everything has been down sized but we are being charged more. Sam

I love using Dawn. My mother used it so I use it. I like it. But the reason I am giving this rating is not because I like the product for washing my dishes. I watch a lot of shows on Animal Planet, my favorite ones being ANIMAL COPS. On several episodes, I have seen critters brought in that were more flea than canine or feline. The vet techs grabbed a bottle of Dawn and scrubbed the babies clean of all flea life. I acquired a kitten this morning that was more flea than kitten. When I brought her in the house, my first stop was the kitchen sink. I immediately gave her a bath in Dawn, wrapped her in a towel and took her to the bathroom to clean out her ears. She still had fleas so back to the kitchen we went and I bathed her again with the Dawn. After her second bath, she was clean and no more fleas. This was a good thing because she was a very tiny kitten and the harsh flea treatments would not have been good on her skin. I also have other pets and I did not want an infestat... Read more

I am really annoyed with the new bottle design. Go back to the old bottle design some things are better left alone! And the pop top was much better too! I love Dawn and have used it for too many years and will continue to do so. But I had to complain about the bottle. It't getting harder and harder to find the old design to fill and reuse!

I dont know what the negative reviewers are talking about.Dawn works like it always has.Its still hard to beat on greasy dishes or as an all-purpose degreaser. You can even use it to unclog commodes or to flush fat-laden stools that wont go down.A neighbors dog got into a mess of oil,and dawn was the only thing that got that dog clean!

The Dawn dish soap is the same as it's always been. Your water is the problem. Add a pinch of water softener to the soap and you will see the difference. Over the years the water from the facility has been the problem. They add more chemicals to the water so if won't foam up during sanitation stages. The best thing to do is to have your water analized to see what you have in it. Well water is mostly acidic and hard. This condition would warrant a water neutralizer and softener to correct. City water is another problem. I would install several filters on that water. I'm not talking about the ones Britta makes. The whole house filtration systems. Then use R.O.filtration for drinking water and stop buying those water bottles that pollute our world.

I've used Dawn dish detergent all my life, as well as my mother and grandmother, which makes me an expert. My mom gave me an enema with it once, Ugh, but true. Hey somebody said it worked to unclog a toilet drain. Same thing. It was used for everything including a bug spray for plants, and one time I was out of shampoo and I washed my hair with it. My hair was beautiful and shiny. It's too strong for daily use, but it cut my hair product build up. It was perfect - for just that once. I used to make my kid's soap bubbles and at bath time they just rinsed. Since I raised boys dirt was an issue. Was never without it in my home. I would rate the Blue Original 5 stars, if I could find it. I unknowingly bought several bottles, got home and realized it's notl. Live too far out of town (which is why I buy in quantity), so Mama ain't happy. I didn't come here by accident. It's desceptive to market something as original, when it's not. Omission is still marketing as I went ... Read more

I am so disappointed in the quality of dawn dish detergent. in the past one drop of the liquid would make a sink of suds. Now it is so obvious that the consumer is not getting their money`s worth. Now is have to squeeze alot to get the suds. I notice on the dawn commericals it is not longer just a drop.........she squeezes a long time too. I had been a customer for years. disappointed in once a great product. It says I must rate the product but there are no 0`s

I have to agree with others. they have reformulated it and it does't work at all. I use it in my Cafe and at home. Its just not cleaning like it use to. Not even close.

Used to be five star product. Must have been reformulated (improved!) as it doesn't have the power of the older version and lasts about half as long as before.

I have been using Dawn for alot of years. I was camping 25 years ago, when a friend told me about Dawn. I used it and fell in love with it. The last 6 to 8 months, I have not been real happy with it. I use it for everything. I'm finding it doesn't take out oil the way it once did. I also have to use more of it to wash the dishes. It cost more then the other dish detergents. I just may have to try different kind of dish detergent.

We recently moved into a rental house and received a rather nasty surprise. The house had, evidently, previously been infested with fleas, and one good vacuuming was all it took to begin a re-infestation. We have two cats who had never had trouble with the critters. Our larger, and older cat got by with his monthly dose of anti-flea back-of-the-neck-vet-approved stuff, but our younger, smaller gray tabby was quickly overcome. We tried shampoos, powder, spray, prescription flea meds from our vet, nothing worked. He began to weaken quickly, and this morning I was afraid I might lose him. I drew up a tubful of warm water, added a little Dawn and gently eased the cat into the tub. After about ten minutes, he went limp in my arms, and I just knew he was gone. I pulled him out, wrapped him in a big, soft fluffy towel and sat down in the rocker and rocked him for the next thirty minutes. Fleas that had not shaken lose after flea shampoo, spray, powder and the prescription back-of-the-... Read more

FOR YEARS I HAD LOOKED FOR A DISH SOAP THAT WOULD CUT THE GREASE NOT ONLY ON MY DISHES, BUT ON MY HANDS ALSO. A FRIEND OF MINE TRIED DAWN AND FOUND THAT IT PERFORMED LIKE IT SAID IT WOULD AND THOUHGT ABOUT ME. SHE CALL AND REALLY BRAGGED ON THIS PRODUCT. SHE MADE ME A DEAL, IF I WOULD TRY AND IT DID NOT PERFORM THE WAY SHE SAID, SHE WOULD GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, SHE DID NOT HAVE TO RE-IMBURSE ME MY MONEY AND I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL DAWN SOAP USER EVER SINCE. WORKS REAL NICE FOR HELPING TO KILL OUT LIVE IN YOUR HAIR ALSO. JUST ADD VINEGAR AND A LITTLE TEA-TREE OIL AND AWAY YOU GO!

Dawn in AMAZING!! One late night my toilet was backed up. Before calling a plumber knowing I would have to pay after hours pay, I saw this tip online. Pour Dawn dishsoap in the toilet and let it sit for one minite, then pour some boiling water in, plunge for about 10 times, then flush. IT WORKS!!! I cannot tell you how much money this saved me.

I once went to a beach in California, I was walking along the shore line and stepped in a pile of raw oil! I was terrified that I would have to douse my foot in gasoline to get it off, but then I remembered the commercial "Dawn, it cuts the grease". So I poured Dawn in a bucket with warm water and soaked my foot, 30 minutes later the oil was gone!

Believe it or not, Dawn saved me a $100 plumber's visit yesterday. After unsuccessfully trying to unclog a toilet (blocked with toddler Kan-do wipes, I think), I searched online for suggestions to follow after the obvious plunging/snaking options failed. Someone suggested pouring a few tablespoons of Dawn into the bowl. N Morse here at RateItAll also suggested this method, so I tried it. Within an hour, the bowl had drained, so I added some more Dawn and plunged. The clog cleared like magic!

I dearly love my Original BLUE Dawn dishwashing liquid, it sure does take grease out of your way, and off your hands, it even takes off car grease from my husbands hands, also, its a great, great shampoo for your dog and cat to repel fleas!! believe me this works, just pour the original dawn soap on your pet, wash well into there fur, and wash off, for some reason this dawn keeps fleas off your pet!! also, it may sound weird to you all, but i personally use it to wash off the mugginess and sweat off my hair and body, its that gentle for me, it sure does take off gently the residue of shampoo accumilation on my hair, believe you me, this works, my friends in the big island of Hawaii does this too, and they also swear by this, its not harsh on my body either, and im a mom with sensitive skin, this does wonders for summer heat, and if you want to get rid of that uckiness on your body, use DAWN!!! IT WORKS!!!!!SAY.... I would love to hear anyone's reviews if they had tried Dawn (the origin... Read more

I really like this product!! It does a great job of cleaning your dishes, even the plastic containers that tend to be greasy. Plus is used by many animal rescue groups when they have an oil spill and must clean the birds and animals covered with oil. I use it as a first shampoo on my cats before a cat show, first get the grease out of their coats with dawn, then follow up with a good conditioning cat shampoo for the perfect show coat!

It's been the best dishwashing soap so far. Out of all the conventional soaps theirs seems to be more environmentally friendly because they use biodegradable ingredients. That's a plus for me. It works well, the smell isn't too offensive and doesn't overdry my hands.

This is the only dish soap that leaves my hands soft, not like sandpaper!! If I use any other dish soap, my hands get very dry. It cleans better than other detergents, and smells great!! All around, great product! I actually sent my husband back to the store when he brought home another brand, he said, You said you needed dish soap, I said, NO, I said I needed DAWN!

Dawn is THE BEST!!!! I have never used a product that lives up to its commercials like Dawn. I use it not only for doing my dishes. I am on a very limited income, so I am very frugal. Buying that $.29 a gallon dish detergent is a total waste of money because it takes so much to wash dishes. I always put dirty rinse dirty dishes and then fill them to the brim with water to soak until I have enough to wash a load. Then, I rinse them with hot water, turn the water off, put some Dawn on a sponge, wash the dishes, and then rinse them with very hot water. This way, I'm certain the dishes are not only clean, but they are rinsed thoroughly. I also use Dawn with an other cleaning solution to clean better. Sometimes, I use it only to shampoo my carpeting. It not only gets grease out of the way, it changes the composition of it so it can be gotten rid of. Another use is to pour hot water into a clogged toilet, add a squirt of Dawn, plunge just a couple of times, and flush. It makes it... Read more

Dawn complete is the best dish washing compound I have used up to now. What prompted me to leave a comment is that whom ever designed the bottle it came in, has never washed dishes by hand. The bottle slips out of your hand once your hand gets wet. I will have to purchase a bottle of the old Dawn, dump the contents and transfer the New Dawn to that bottle.

I have been using Dawn for too many years to mention but I wanted to comment on the new commercial I've seen for Dawn in the dishwasher. I have been using Dawn in my dishwasher (without dishwasher detergent) for 3 years and my dishes turn out great.
