    I took my '01 Montero in to have it checked out. Brakes were squeaking and not even and the engine was misfiring. Big job; but they got it done in 2 days even with a parts crisis! They are the only place I'll take it again, if I have to!

    I have been going to Dave's since 1990 and have been a loyal customer ever since. My cars has change and the problems have change right along with the cars, but whenever I have a problem I myself can not fix, then I know I'm in good hands at Dave's. The staff talks to you with respect and is kowledgable about the work that they need to perform on my car. I have shopped around and checked out other garages, but nothing compares to Dave's.

    I checked out a few places for new tires and alignment after I installed new shocks on my car. SoulSpeed provided horrible initial customer service so I went to Dave's to check it out. Excellent service from the beginning. I was greeted when I walked in and Dwayne spent as much time as I needed going over my options. When I took the car in for tires/alignment, it took just the amount of time that he quoted. The tech test drove the car before and after the alignment and provided a printout of the readings. Everyone is courteous and helpful. Dwayne remembered me and even kept in mind that I do a lot of my own work when noticing that my belts were damaged and should be changed. Thanks!

    i brought my nearly dead ford explorer to dave's hoping they could help...they looked at it but told me the repairs would be more expensive than it was worth and they would probably be followed by other things cropping up. they didn't charge me and they even offered to tow it somewhere for me and to check out any vehicle i wanted to buy so i would know if i was getting a lemon. great old-fashioned service. and they even let me leave it with them several days while i looked around for another vehicle. i plan on using them for whatever vehicle i do buy and also to bring my son's 2006 car to them for it's regular maintenance. good people.

    OK, so I went to Dave's automotive b/c of the great reviews. I took my car in to get checked out before a long road trip - oil change, coolant flush, and whole vehicle inspection. There was an issue after service, but the service advisor, Dwayne, followed up and made that the issues got taken care. I work in the service industry and realize that things happen, but it's the follow-up and the assurance that ur going to fix and take care of those issues. Not going to lie, the prices aren't cheap, but you can't beat the warranty and the service. I'll continue to take my vehicle there for regular maintenance and service. I'm also going to start taking my other vehicle there for it's regular service. Excellent Automotive Garage.

    I moved from southern California and was looking for a great mechanic and I can honestly say that Dave's is the best shop - I've found here in Austin. I've taken my VW Jetta twice to them and have been treated very well - they are extremely professionals. They have great technicians - very knowledgeable mechanics - they are very friendly - but more important - they are very HONEST with the work/cost they do.

    This shop is both very professional and friendly. I have lived in Austin all my life and I tried many different auto shops but once I found Dave's I haven't needed to go any where else. They will return you to work or home when you drop off your car, and they pick you up at work or home when they are finished repairing your car. The shop is clean and professional like I have never seen.

    just wanted to take a few moments to thank dwayne and the guys at the howard lane store. they really make me feel like family every time i come in. ryan alwas remembers my name and dwayne always remembers what i had done the last time. good honest shop who really cares how i feel even after i leave. they schedule my next appt. the have a shuttle that will take and pick you up from anywhere. good hours,and quality technisions. the first auto shop i enjoy going to. that should say enough. thanks again guys

    I normally take my car to the dealership when I need service, but recently when I was quoted a high $$ for some repair work my dad recommended Dave's Ultimate Automotive. Not only were they better priced, the service staff were wonderful! They were more than happy to shuttle me home and offered to pick me up when the work was finished. I would recommend everyone who needs any type of service, maintenance or tires go to Dave's. Thanks, guys!!

    The title says it all. When it comes to cars I tend to learn about them as my car decides to give me fits. I took my car to a another local shop that spent 4 days with my car, only to tell me that they could not figure out why it was overheating. They suggested 4 possible issues all of which would have set me back a pretty penny (fan switch, new radiator, new water pump, clogged radiator). They told me to take my car to the dealer because they could not figure it out. I learned of Dave's through a co-worker who raved of them. I dropped my car off and chatted thoroughly with the office staff about the issues. By mid-day, I had an estimate and detailed information as to how my car was behaving.     I brought my car in to Dave?s a while ago because of a persistent clunking sound when turning. The technician diagnosed the problem as worn tie rods, which was a reasonable diagnosis. They replaced the tie rods and I picked up my car. After driving if for a while I realized the clunking sound was still present. I eventually brought my car back to Dave?s and they were very accommodating. I did a test drive with the technician and reproduced the problem for him. He was then able to identify the problem and fix it, and I was not charged for the second repair. They even threw in a free oil change. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating and very focused on customer service. There are plenty of shady auto-repair places where they charge you for services you don?t need but Dave?s is definitely not one of them. They go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied with your experience and they are honest.

    This was my first time to use Dave's, and I'll definitely be back. Andrew listened to my concerns, explained everything to me without talking down to me (something that happens to females in garages all the time), and never made me feel pressured to buy anything. I thought I had a major brake problem, but after inspecting my car, they told me my brakes were fine, even knowing that I was prepared to spend a lot of money to have them fixed. I trust Dave's and would recommend them to anyone.

    I had a great experience at Dave's. They have a very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable staff, and I get the feeling that they are trying to do what's best for me and my car instead of just trying to sell me stuff. If they really feel strongly about a service they think you need, they'll tell you why, and if you refuse, they won't push it. I observed this not just in my dealings with them but also when I watched how they dealt with other customers (who had worse problems than I did; I was just there for an oil change). They have a pretty entertaining waiting room too; there's a computer terminal for you to use as well as wireless internet if you have your own computer. I would send my wife there, if she was the one to ever take care of any of this stuff.

    I HAVE USED DAVES MANY TIMS FOR ALL MY VEHICLES AND EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY. THEY DONT MISS THE SMALL THINGS. THEY PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS. THE PRICES ARE NOT THE CHEEPEST IN TOWN BUT TELL YOU THE TRUTH CHEAP MEANS CHEAP(IF YOUU KNOW WHAT I MEAN).     I've been coming to Dave's for 5 years now, and every time I bring my car for any repairs, it is only a one time trip and I think that since they always are using the best quality parts and seem to have some of the best mechanics in Austin, that is the reason why. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they always give me a real reason to spend a little extra, and that is come in, once and get the job right the first time so I don't have to waste any time coming back, but if you have to don't expect a hassle, they really do love their customers and take care of them as fast as they can.

    I don't have absolutely anything bad to say about their service because they were polite and friendly to me and my wife, who's car needed a timing belt change. We had it towed to their shop so maybe they didn't think I would pay to have it towed somewhere else. Well knowing that there are other parts that should be changed when doing a timing belt, we were prepared to spend several hundred dollars to fix it when we were quoted well over the thousand dollar area. Got several other quotes for the exact same job for 1/3 of their price. No joke. I'm to busy to mess with my cars at this moment but this is a job I've done myself several times. Adding parts that do not have anything to do with this job, and including in the quote which are perfectly fine parts is not cool. I paid my $100 diagnostics for them to tell me I needed a timing belt (which is the job that I asked for them to do). I'm sure they do good work but at those prices I was out the door.

    Been here twice sent our move the Austin. Service is truly first class. They really go over details on what (if any) maintenance programs are needed. You can tell they take pride in their jobs and want to make sure they get return business! Highly recommend Dave's!

    These guys are pros. They know how to fix it correctly, and FAST. I have an older car and I don't know how they get the parts for it so quickly, but they do. Be aware, they aren't cheap, but they keep it reasonable. You are paying for expert service, expediency, and reliable results.

    Daves has professional service from the Advisors that greet you when walk in the door, to the highly qualified mechanics that work on your car. If you go to daves once youll come back and the second time they will know your name. I cant say that about any other local or national repair facility in this town. The shuttle service is also great for those that have to be somewhere else while thier vehicle is being worked on.

    I've been a Dave's customer for almost 10 years. Having grown up in family of car enthusiasts, I know a little more about cars than most women, so I know how hard it is to find a good mechanic, let alone a reputable shop. These guys consistently exceed my expectations: they are always friendly, knowledgeable, and will take the time to 'splain me what's going on with my car if I have questions. As a single woman, having your car out of commission can be quite a hardship, and interacting with the repair shop guys can often be an uncomfortable experience.     It's always been frustrating to me whenever I need to take my car in for service. Either go to the dealer and be prepared to pay big bucks for even minor things, or end up at some fly-by-night shop with questionable abilities. Well, that has changed. I now have a place I can actually feel good about. I ordered a set of tires from TireRack and had them drop-shipped to Dave's due to the positive reviews on that website. Well, I'm happy to add my experience as another positive. Everyone has extremely friendly and actually treated me with respect. I had the tires installed along with a few other minor items.     I have taken 2 vehicles to Dave's and have gotten a thorough explanation of what was wrong with the vehicles and was even told which repairs I could wait on, and which were absolutely needed. The staff is very knowledgeable and they provide great customer service. They are a little pricy, but for the quality of work and peace of mind that the job got done right, it is worth every penny.     i brought my montero in thinking it was going to be very expensive. it would not start. i have been there in the past and had good service. they towed it in and diagnosed my vehicle. i was expecting a fuel pump or timing belt since it would not start. when they called they said my key was not working and could i bring up my other one. well i did and they called me back and said it started and all i needed was my security system reprogrammed. i got out spending less than i thought (which is a good thing because last time my ac compressor and computer was out and that was expensive). well when i got there today they did not charge me for my tow. i feel like a lot of other shops would have charged me a lot more or even better yet other shops i don't think would have gone the extra mile and got the correct diagnosis. the techs here really put a lot into what they are doing and not just fix guess at what they do. i thank you Dave for giving my family piece of mind that i don't have to worry...     Dwayne and Chris took personal interest in my car and investigated all options to make sure they addressed my concerns and to fix my car. To me, the car was running rough and the air conditioner wasn't working when car was idle. A quick diagnostic found nothing more than basic maintenance required. I doubt I would have gotten the same truthful response if I had taken it somewhere else.

    My husband is disabled and uses a wheelchair. Our van has a lift for the chair and without it, he's stranded at home. Dave's shop diagnosed and repaired a complex engine problem that could have ruined our only vehicle, and they did it in an amazingly timely fashion. They are highly competent, trustworthy, reliable, friendly and fast! I would recommend Dave's Ultimate Automotive to anyone with a car problem, and have done so many times.

    Everyone at Dave's Ultimate Automotive is so friendly and always takes the time to get to the root of car problems. I recently had a strange issue with my car and couldn't figure out what was causing the problem. They took my car in at the last minute and worked on it until they found out what was going on. I was grateful since I had already spent a lot of money elsewhere without my car being truly fixed. What I appreciated most, though, was how thoroughly everything is explained. I received a detailed description of the problem, the way parts work, and felt comfortable asking as many questions as I felt necessary.

    Dave's Automotive has several convenient places. They not only know what they are doing. If your automobile is in need of other services they let you know and do it. Their customer service is unbelievable, they are friendly and easy to talk to about all your auto needs. They also take the time to explain in detail any automobile problems and offer a solution in a very timely manner. I love going to them because they make you feel at home and give you the satisfaction that your auto needs are seriously taken care of . Since they love what they do and they love helping people , you get that good feed back that they are there to help and not just to make money.     Our family has 3 cars and we exclusively use Dave's north location for all our auto needs. You can totally trust what the staff recommends for service and we like their philosophy of maintaining the car for the long haul. The shuttle is very prompt and convenient but if you want to wait in the lounge, there's good current magazines and a big screen computer with web access to keep you busy. They don't talk down to women about repairs but can explain what needs to be done in clear terms anyone can understand. If using a rebuilt part will save you money and work just as well, they will tell you that. When my Camry's security alarm kept going off and locking up the engine, Dwayne talked me through it on the phone in spite of my frustration, and then Dave disconnected the alarm (at my request) for no charge.     This company is one of the best automotive services I have ever dealt with. They are friendly, honest, concerned professionals. My husband and I will continue to bring our vehicles here to be serviced. The representatives that I have interacted with have always taken the time to explain the problem to me in "lay-mans" terms and physically show the problem on the vehicle- great for visual learners like me.     I have been utilizing Dave's Ultimate Automotive since 2000. I have four vehichles and the service provided has alway been outstanding. They always ensure the cars are properly fixed and within a reasonalble cost. Dwayne and Ryan are two of the best customer service individuals I have ever been associated with. They are extremely friendly and caring and they try to return your cars as soon as possible. They always research the best prices for parts and the mechanics have stayed late on several occassions to get the cars back when needed. Dave is a suberb owner and leader and has instilled the proper work ethic in his employees. Although his business is to make money he always ensures the customers get the best value and service.     I have been a long time customer of Dave's Ultimate and want people to be aware of their friendly, quality service. Finding a reputable shop has always been tough, but Dave's takes all of the worry away. You can be assured that you will receive prompt, quality service at a reasonable price along with extras that other shops do not offer. Dave's will offer you a ride to work, they do not start repairs until you have been consulted and they take the time to explain your options fully. All of the choices are yours, which is very refreshing. Dave's has maintained my late model Suburban, as well as an older convertible that I own. They take the time to run down parts for my old car that are not readily available, a detail that I greatly appreciate. I have had excellent experiences at Dave's and will continue to have them repair and maintain my vehicles.

    I have never been to an automotive shop of any kind that provides the level of customer service and care that Dave's offers. From sharing their customer service philosophy, to posting Dave's cell phone number, to their amazing attention to detail to make sure that you're happy it's all there. That's all in addition to the great job that they do with your vehicle. If you don't like auto shops or taking your car in then this is the place to go, they will make you feel right at home. I happen to believe that these facts deserve the opportunity to be read: customers have the right to make informed decisions about where to spend their money. However, you cannot read the details of my three separate, unpleasant experiences at Dave?s Automotive. Someone takes a proactive roll in monitoring this site and removing any post that violates the User Review Guidelines. Take a very close look at these guidelines, and understand the type of information that is removed from this website. I did not have a good experience at Dave?s?times three. In my book, three strikes and you?re out. In my opinion, there?s one difference between Dave?s and the place down the block. Dave?s claims to be different.

    I?ve had the hardest time finding a good auto repair shop that fixes volkswagons but after my experience today, I?m sold on Dave?s Ultimate Auto. I stopped in and they were able to get me right in and out all while being very friendly and- not pressuring me into anything I didn?t need. After talking to them about some of their recommendations and the overall service I received, I was so happy walking out of there knowing I?ve found a good group of honest guys that I can trust.     I have known Dave for years and have watched him grow his business with a very simple business philosiphy. He seems to really care for his customers not just thier cars. I have used him for over 15 years and I send my friends, employees and family to him all the time! I just have a tremendous amount of trust and confidence with all of his employees and certified mechanics that anyone could hope for in an auto repair shop. The best part about it in my opinion is that the place is ALWAYS CLEAN over there! As a very busy small business owner here in Austin, I like the email reminders that I get from Dave's to tell me to just "go change my oil" or "rotate my tires". Time just gets away from me and they keep me on track for the best possible life for MY car. I really appreciate service like that since cars aren't cheap anymore and you really have to keep up with the maintenance for them to last a long time! I even bought my 4 new tires there and LOVE THEM!

    Dave's has courteous, knowledge, efficient staff who give me a fair price. They drive me back to work and remind me when I have services I need. I highly recommend Dave's.
