Sun Feb 20 2011I think Darth Vader is a character that has lots of depth. First, it is interesting to know that Darth Vader used to be Anakin Skywalker. Darth also has lots of background and is torn between the dark and good side. In the ende he comes back and becomes a hero like his son and daughter. Overall, Darth Vader has lots of background and depth.

Wed Dec 08 2010What many don't know is that Vader's voice was dubbed by James Earl Jones. Here is what the original voice of Darth Vader sounded like before being dubbed:

Tue Sep 08 2009Darth Vader helped to make the Star Wars films successful. When he got pissed off, he'd choke people to death. When he told Luke Skywalker that he was his father, I thought he was lying. But later I learned that it was the truth. One thing that I don't understand about Episode IV was when Vader and Obi Wan talked to each other before their duel, Vader showed no rage. If someone cut off my limbs and caused me to nearly get burned to death, I'd be really pissed. One disappointing thing about Star Wars Episode III was that Vader didn't get his suit until the end of the movie. Vader was an awesome villain. I give him a 5 star rating.

Sat Jan 17 2009I love him..I mean I actually am in love with him. I would like nothing more than to have him be my child's father. I want to birth his children. I really want to pull his firm bod on top of mine. I love to eat apples. I am a male

Wed Jan 14 2009Everyone loves a good villain - it makes the hero a stronger character. With Darth Vader he embodies the the ultimate evil character for the majority of three films.

Wed Nov 26 2008Being 90% robotic has its advantages when it comes to pushing your weight around; his heavy coarse breathing might've been the only thing wrong with the suit. He couldn't do any of the fancy acrobatic lightsaber tricks like his young self used to do, but he could sure inspire a menacing look nonetheless.Who else was surprised to find out that he was the father of our hero?

Wed Nov 26 2008He was just so kewl!!!! Come on over to the Dark Side!

Tue Nov 25 2008Sure Anakin won the pod race, destroyed that ship as a kid, and saved Kenobi 9 times but other than that he was kinda puss. Obi Wan defeated him and it seemed like he didn't even want to serve the emperor but had to cuz they killed all the Jedi... ya know, nothing else to do. He turned into Vader cuz he wanted the power to save the ones he loved from death, funny thing is that Qui-Gon Jin already figured that out. If he would have just stayed with the Jedi and let Mace chop Palpatines head off... So is Anakin the chosen one (he did throw the emperor over the railing) or is it Luke for facing and defeating both the emperor and Vader?

Tue Nov 25 2008Most intriguing character in the original trilogy, well developed and with considerable depth. Great range of facial expressions too.

Wed Mar 26 2008First class character. I was kind of disappointed with the revelation that he was Luke's and Leia's father. Lucas and Spielberg must have made it up as they went along. How come Obi Wan Kenobbi didn't spill the beans in IV? I suppose that the writers hadn't thought of it yet.

Sun Feb 11 2007He was the central character of the story (beginning with Episode V). The most powerful of all the Jedi and Sith, he remains one if the most intriguing charcaters in any movie.

Sun Feb 11 2007If you ignore everything he did in Episode III, the fact he could have been defeated by anybody with Force Lightning (or indeed Electrical Justice *winks at Plo Koon*) and also the fact that he was killed by Luke, you can almost start to realise he is quite cool. His armour and mask make him an intimidating figure.

Fri Jan 27 2006Tough life for this guy- starts out as a slave, falls in love when he shouldn't, gets seduced by the Dark Side, tries to choke his pregnant wife, gets burnt to a crisp and gets trapped in a life support suit for the next 25 years which essentially strips him of him humanity. If that's not bad enough he has to deal with not one but both of his kids rebelling against him. At least in the end his fatherly love and concern for Luke outweighs the evil and bitterness inside him. Turns out to be a pretty cool guy good and bad- unique in a villain.

Thu Jan 05 2006not my fav character in the film but definatly the greatest villian of all time. just think to yourself for a few seconds, imagine someone asking you name the first villian that pops into your head and you think of darth vader and that choke hold is the best i was so just darn happy (and fulfilled) to see it in ep.111 and to who did he give this trademark move to none other than his greatest love. Now that alone desrves the rating of greatest villian of all.

Sat Oct 08 2005ok, so he was ruthless and everything but come on, he was the puppet of Darth Sidious. all the way from episode 3, The Emporer had him do his bidding. Besides, Vader ends up coming back into the light when he saves his son from his master, Palpitine, aka Sidious. Dont get me wrong, he was pretty evil, but he wasnt the worst around.
by kattwoman
Sat Oct 08 2005when you think evil villains darth vader is sure to be at the top of the list. his voice and appearance made him one of the most recognizable bad guys. he was ruthless and heartless.

Sun May 22 2005The epitome of all evil characters. Even though, by the end, its not all that evil, his walk, his voice and most of all, his breathing, easily makes him the greatest villian in film.
by cliegglars
Sun May 22 2005He should have stayed on Tatooine, not run off on some damn fool crusade.
by james76255
Wed May 18 2005Probably the coolest villian of all time. By all reasoning, the Darth Vader charecter should seem dated now, but it doesn't.

Wed May 18 2005Kind of reminds me of Dick Cheney.

Tue Feb 03 2004The best villian in cinematic history in my humble opinion. Dark, menacing, and endlessly cruel, he was ready to murder the whole galaxy (even his own children) if they didn't bow to his master's will. I loved the fact that he was finally redeemed in the end. An intriguing circle that drives the Star Wars saga.
by mikeholly93
Wed Sep 17 2003One of the most ruthless, evil, terrifying villians ever in the Star Wars movies and in all of science fiction.
