Dane Cook is the most debated comedian recently. He's famous to the point where he can say just about anything to get people to laugh. Over exaggerates everything he talks about and does it with crazy voices and gestures. He's very high strung and tends to ramble. Some of his material is clever but a lot of it is regurgitated or overplayed. The thing I don't like about him most of all is his recent drama circulating about him stealing jokes from top Comedians such as Daniel Tosh, Louie CK, and Demitri Martin. Basically after you do that. You lose the respect of people. Which has actually been confirmed. He's watchable, but not pay good money to see him watchable. You're better off waiting for a special to appear on T.V.

Way too overrated. How is this guy even famous? He's not funny at all. All he does is scream and do funny noises. If I wanted that, I'd go rent a chimp for a day.

I give Dane Cook 3 stars because he has his moments. A few things that are not appealing comically: 1) He yells a lot, aka he screams into the microphone. I don't feel like laughing when I am getting my ear screamed into. 2) He repeats himself.. A LOT. It's like he's telling the same joke one, two, or three times in a row. 3) Sometimes his jokes are told in story format.. and the stories.. well they go on forever. Get to the punch line. Like I said, he does have his moments, but his few flaws makes it less bearable to listen to him.

I watch like 20 minutes straight of this guy. He couldn't even get a smile out of me, and definitely not a laugh. No idea how people find him funny. No one I know likes him either, so I have yet to meet someone who adequately can explain why so many people find him funny. The one thing that I have to give this guy credit for is that he has marketing himself perfectly.

Dane Cook goes on and on and on about nothing. But unlike Jerry Seinfeld Dane Cook is not funny. Kind of got a gen-x label as a comedian but I don't buy it. Little more than a well-marketed tool.

He really is a love/hate figure in comedy. I suppose because he's so popular and there are many better comedians out there. But my "like" vote is how I feel about him. Amusing enough and wouldn't pay to see him, but if he's on tv, I'll probably watch him for a little while.

This guy runs around on stage and panders to stupid people. He also made a lot of money doing that. Depressing.

I wanted to give Dane cook a 4 out of 5 Stars. But ONLY because after I hear his stuff the second time it's boring....but I had to give him a 5 because I am the Loser listening to his act 4 and 5 times so he is obviously funny. There are some Comedians out there that no matter how many times you see or hear their material, it never gets old....Dane Cook is really cool because his material hits every age group....Not saying he intended for it to be that way....But the first time I ever heard of Dane Cook it was from my little 12 year old cousin. Then I saw some of his stuff myself and liked it, I was about 18. Then around age 20, at work everyone would be playing his stand up on YouTube and Hulu and those people ranged from age 20-40. So good for him thats a really hard thing to do, attract multiple ages. I liked when he pretended to be Tom Cruise, if you haven't seen it...you should it's very short and funny.

This comedian is very entertaining. His strong points are when he jumps around and screams and makes weird noises. I believe he is my friend on MySpace. Six stars.

I’ve been following Dane Cook’s career from his early pre-fame stand-up in a Boston comedy club in the 1990s. I even saw him in his high school’s production of Grease circa 1990. Prior to that I had no idea Dane was even into acting, he seemed like a really quiet kid. Dane’s act has come a long way and, believe it or not, is way more polished. You think he has an abundance of energy now? Well his early act was more jumping around the stage and making sound effects than the observational comedy he does now. I remember hearing his imitation of Speak & Spell at every show I went to for about 10 years. I laughed every time, by the way. I also remember him imitating a dinosaur from Jurassic Park and he stuck his face right in my face and I made a mental note to yell at him after the show; I despise being the center of attention. One negative thing I noticed in the early days was Dane allowing rude audience members to get to him. You could see it on his face, he would get pissed. He did no... Read more

My kids and friends ages 20 to 26 went to see him at Phillips Arena in Atlanta this week. They all said the other 2 comics with him were much better and funnier than him. Also, he was just purely insulting to everyone and every thing. African Americans and Mentally ill (retards). I was shocked, but they no longer like him at all. I believe he has lost it!

I dont see what is so great about this comedian. He is really isn't much of one, hes more of a performer who acts out his story to make it comedic. I've heard a worse but hes mediocre at best

GRAPHIC PORN I had heard him on CD before and laughed so hard that my children brought me to his performance in Tampa! What a mistake and embarrassment for all of us. His cheap, filthy, graphic stories about women and whores was mortifying. His sexual stories of his masturbation were appalling just to give one an idea of what his comedy has sunk to. It was hard to remember any clean jokes that were told as the show consisted of porn. The opening act was nothing more that blasphemy against the Catholic Church and the second opening was almost as vulgar as Dane's show. DO NOT WASTE THE MONEY ON HIM. WAIT UNTIL HE CAN CLEAN UP HIS ACT. IT IS NOT WORTH WASTING YOUR MONEY TO LEAVE AND FEEL FILTHY ALL OVER....WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT AND HE SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO WANT TO EVEN BE SEEN AFTER SUCH SEWAGE!!

The clever word-smith, whose energy and wit we used to love has been replaced by a perverted, egomaniac who thinks the way to entertain is to degrade women, glorify porn and provide the most violent description of sexual intercourse with a prostitute that it's amazing he wasn't arrested. Please, fans of Dane Cook, tell him to stop! Dane Cook's show on the eve of the Super Bowl couldn't even draw a full house. Now we know why. The first half of the show was passable but, after that, he completely lost his way. We now know why this 36-year-old is still single. He has issues! Don't go. His warm-up act, Robert Kelly, is equally sick. Listen to Dane's old stuff. Send the message that we need wit, not insult. We spent good money because we needed a good laugh. We didn't need lazy and lame sex jokes that competely ruin a decent date, give us nothing we can repeat in mixed company, and said more about Dane's pathetic life than they did about humor. Sorry girls. You thought he was cute. Not... Read more

Dane Cook is an amazing storyteller. He isn't really great at creating or delivering jokes like traditional comedians, but his unique style can be hilarious. He is a hyperactive performer that doesn't stay still on stage. I can see how some don't like him, but the claims of others that he is the worst comedian ever are a little extreme.

I rate this at one star only because the star ratings don't go any lower.  Dane Cook is absolutely the worst comedian working today.  Imagine the conversation in the car on the way home from a Dane Cook performance.  What do you talk about?  Your wasted lives?   I wish he'd go away, and he probably will.  It can't happen soon enough for me.

most overrated comedian. he was funny for about a year. now, anyone who quotes him, is instantly outcast. also, anyone who knows him personally, would know what he is somewhat of an dick, and acts like a baby when he loses. 2/5.

Easily the most overrated comedian of the last 25 years. His success is primarily due to his fanbase of ditzy sorority chicks who think he's hot (and conclude somehow that hot = funny), and frat boys who want to get laid by the sorority chicks, so they get into Dane to "get a foot in the door", so to speak (no pun intended).

This guy tries too hard to be funny through exaggeration that he ends up looking like a clown on stage. Most of the time I impatiently wait for him to go on and actually present some jokes, every once in a while I smile, I laughed once, even though I have seen hours of his material.

have caught his act a few times. while i dont think he's any kind of master, he's certainly one of the funniest guys out there today. not afraid to tackle any race or gender w/a sort of frat boyish charm and manic sensibility. is a touch observational, but post-Seinfeld it's expected of comedians.

If you've never heard of him, neither had I. But this is one of the best young comics I've seen in a long time. His stand-up is a completely uninhibited free-for-all, yet witty and extremely relatable. Do yourself a favor and check out his CD/DVD combo Harmful if Swallowed featuring the aired and uncensored versions of his hilarious Comedy Central Presents routine, other stops on stage and a full-length audio performance. Your move, holy man.
