aside from a well chilled martini there is little else i can say that is positive. i returned to this restaurant after several years because i remeber the friendly atmosphere, the tasty dishes. what an unpleasant surprise to find a rude hostess and a waiter that is beyond description. suffice it to say that he was a caracature of haughtiness, arrogance and air of self importance. if the food wasnt such an expensive disappointment i would find these two people almost comical. my guess is that the positive reviews you may have seen (if any) are dated when the restaurant was under differen ownership

Had friends in from Ohio and wanted to try a different restaurant in Little Italy. Missed this review site. Food was way over priced!!!! Quality was average at best, and the service… well momma always said “if you don’t have anything good to say..don’t say it” Skip this place.. do yourself a favor.

We were visiting from New York and the place seemed nice but the bathrooms were dirty and there were crumbs all over the floor. I had fish and have been sick ever since I ate there on Friday

Went down this last week and was very disappointed. Our server acted like he did not want to wait on us. The food was mediocre at best. The food is highly overpriced as well. After dinner we went to Vaccaros for dessert and the locals on the corner told us that the owner was Polish and the chef was Iranian! Where are the Italians? Maybe we are just too young but I did not know anybody in there celebrity photos. We shall not return.

Firstly, if the faded pictures on the bar walls are to be believed, there hasn't been a celebrity in this place in 20 years. Secondly, it would appear that the snotty manager Masood is now the executive chef. The menu hasn't evolved in any way since Mimmo died, the food is still overpriced and overcooked, and they still fail to tell you that the "specials" like the lobster tetrazini and that huge veal chop are $55+ entrees. The limo only picks up guests from the hotels, probably due to the fact that the locals would never eat here.

I have dined at Da Mimmo's many times when I lived in MD. Last week my family and were passing thru MD and decided to stop for dinner. Our waiter was rude from the start. When my wife asked for a glass of wine my the glass it could not be done ( even though they have abar down stairs). We then orderd the salads from the specials. Four salads at a cost of $60.00. Mine you they did not have a shrimp or meat on them. Just a small salad. The entrees were completely average. Did you ever walk out of a restaurant and just feel totaly taken. There are too many other good restaruant's in Baltimore. Do not waste your time with Da Mimmo's Completely avarage food at a high price. Karl D.

My family and I went to Da Mimmo's believing that the food would be authentic and excellent. However, upon arrival, the waiter seemed less than thrilled to be catering to us and was more infatuated with pouring the bottle of San Pellegrino for the Italians next to us. When asked if he would be bringing bread, he grunted that they had run out for the day, meanwhile the people next to us got a loaf as we were speaking. The waiter later returned with a basket of bread, noting that he "had to pull some strings" might I add that the bread was stale, most likely to be used for a stuffing. Not only was our waiter rude and ineffectual, but the other waiters were just as impolite. Also, if you the type of individual who enjoys a singular glass of wine with your meal, this is not the place for you. Wine only comes by the bottle, although you can get a half bottle with the cheapest being $21. If you are expecting a nice quiet meal, Da Mimmo's is not the place. Not only was the food highly o... Da Mimmo's is probably the most expensive restaurant in Little Italy but it is a wonderful place for that special dinner... The portion size...

8 of us went on a Sunday night at 9P. We were well taken care of and all dishes and apps were well received. 3 ordered the red snapper surrounded by clams, scallops and mussels. The scallops were a trifle over done. The very light ricotta cheesecake was delicious. The odd thing was the wines. The inexpensive Kendal cab was better than the moderate chianti and the costly Barolo. We'd go again, though I'm sure there are better values in Lil Italy.

I just moved here from the Westcoast and this was a real experience for me to visit an ethic neighborhood and restaurant. We have nothing that compares to Little Italy in Oregon. My friends and my husband and I fell in love with Da Mimmo's the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff and the people we met were fabulous. The food and service was excellent . I loved the ambiance and the coziness of the restaurant as well as the decor music and quaintness. We plan to visit again as often as we can. Yes it was expensive for drinks and dinner but what we got was worth it. Thanks for such a wonderful treat for us all.

The food is ok, probably better than average for Little Italy, Baltimore, but not outstanding. The wine list is fairly extensive, but prices are a bit high for the area. We were expecting a lot more overall, expecially from the staff which was slow to seat us (even with a reservation) and generally not overly polite. Their attitude was a bit too snobby for my taste. You're better off trying somewhere else, unless you enjoy the whole coat-check + cocktail bar uppity atmosphere.

Da Mimmo's has a wonderful atmosphere, impeccable service, and the food is always perfect. This definitely is the best Italian restaurant in Little Italy!

I took my staff there for a Christmas lunch and we were all very disappointed. I had the shrimp scampi which for $17.95 contained 3 shrimp. One of my staff had gnocchi and it came in a small dish about the size of a deck of cards, my other employee had sole that was served on a small slender plate that again was undersized for the almost $20 price. It was really embarassing and I had to take everyone to Vaccaro's afterward to save face.

The food was wonderful but the service was defenitely NOT up to par. My office went there for secretaries day. Half of our party didn't even get their food until after the other half had finished eating. A couple waiting for the valet ended up getting their doggy bags snatched by a waiter. VERY POOR SERVICE AND RUDE BEYOND BELIEF FOR A 5 STAR RESTAURANT!!!

I am so sorry but I was so dispointed in Da Mimmo's. We were there during the winter last year and we ordered the famous veal and it was full of fat. We went upstairs to a very dark dinning hall. We did come down to a very pleasant piano bar. Overall food was not good at all and very expensive. Our meal for two with a few drinks was over 125.00. That is one drink each and dinner for 62.50 per person. Wow. Won't go back but did like the owner (he was drunk) but very funny.

If your Italian aunt had a resturant it wouldn't be better than DA Mimmo. It's warm , friendly and food that can't be beat in Baltimore's part of Italy. If you're lucky enough to get an upstairs front window seat on a warm summer evening you can watch the old italian ladies sit on their steps across the street...just like in the old country. The veal is the best in the land. Sit by the piano before or after dinner and enjoy the cozy atmosphere in one of Baltimore's best, and most romantic resturants. By the way she's the hostess and he's the chef !!!

Three of us went to DA Mimmo on Saturday nite. The food was excellent, creative and tasty. However, I think that it was pricey for what we got. The restaurant atmosphere was fine, even though it was a little cramped where we sat. Service, however, was not acceptable. The waiter seemed put out and bored by our questions about the dishes and by our not ordering wine. I believe that the expression is "He looked down his nose at us". We usually dine at better restaurants, and we are not used to this. But, regardless of the waiter's impression of the clients, all clients should be treated with a certain amount of respect and deference, especially considering the price tag of the meal. And, this meal had a big price tag.

DA Mimmo's is hands down, the best italian restaurant in Baltimore City. Expensive, but well worth it for a special occassion. The food is consistently excellent, especially the veal tenderloin and veal chop. The service is terrific - very attentive without hovering. The atmosphere is pleasant and not overdone. An extra benefit is their free parking lot - just announce yourself for dinner and you have a place to park in Baltimore. An all around dining pleasure!

From California but have at least a couple of business trips a year to Baltimore. If we have a group we ALWAYS go to Da Mimmo's!! My favorite is the Veal Chops!! These things are humongous!! The staff is helpful and informative of what is on the menu. They have a limo/shuttle service from the Hotels at the Inner-Harbor which is a plus. There is a lot of competition in Little Italy but my choice is Da Mimmo's!!!
