Curves is a big joke. I never saw any results from their workouts, BECAUSE it is NOT difficult!! I lost 70 lbs with JC and joined curves in 2007-2009 and i have found that there are alot better ways to stay active for thirty minutes. Ive been to quite a few locations and its funny because everyone there is so focused on talking to eachother and barely using the machines and then the ridiculous platforms you walk in place on are hilarious. I feel bad because all the women i saw there thought they were doing something when really their efforts are so minimal, just go for a walk

Curves is EXPENSIVE ! It costs way too much for what you get. The facility I went to is in an old strip plaza. South of Omaha, NE I felt after 8 months that I had all I could get from this "workout" It is mostly older ladies (and I am middle aged myself) The couple minutes you get on each machine is not very effective. You hardly get going and you have to get off. Also the owner of the franchise needs to keep these machines in top working condition to get the resistance you need. After 6 months my daughterinlaw took me to her gym. She was determined to show me how much I was NOT getting for that money. She was so right. I was amazed at all the stuff and a pool and a walking track...for LESS than what I was paying at curves. I also could join Month to Month. Curves you join for a year and have to pay for a year, Period. So , the bottom line is Curves is not a good value. And it's Not a great exercise program.

I joined Curves in Grand Island, Nebraska. After having my membership for about 6 months the owner closed the location and relocated it across town and will not allow the members to opt out of their contracts because the new location is not convenient for them. Shannon, the owner, will only let you buy out of the contract for the months you have left because she said the contract was not signed for her members convenience. I believe she breached all of her members contracts and should not make members stay in a contract for a gym in a new location that was not in their contract.

I joined Curves in mid-December and go five times each week. There is a wide range of "types" of women there. There are fluffy and thin, old and young. There are many ways to increase your workout - Advanced, and Aerobic. The instructors are wonderful. I'm just now at the end of my 6 Week Challenge with the Curves diet. It doesn't matter who is there when you go, it is always a great time, like going to a party! The machines might not change but it is always an adventure. There is total support from the staff and all the people you meet there. I've lost 32 pounds so far and enjoy going every day during the week!

I think the program is great especially for those who need the extra support to stay motivated. I am very comfortable in that there aren't men staring at you while working out. It's a great way to spend 30 minutes a day and with people who have the same goal as you!!

I joined Curves about 3 months ago and I am mixed about it. It is a good idea for people who are new to exercise but it is not beneficial to anyone who is in shape. I found that out after I had joined now I am stuck. I would have been better off at a regular gym. There is a market for Curves but I think they should specifically outline who would benefit from this fitness center.

This is a great Womens only workout center. you don't have to wear leotards and spandex. There are women from 18 to 81 that go work out it is a really awesome place to spend 30 minutes of your day!
