after two years being run around in circles by the administration, the financial aid office especially, i have decided not to return to hunter. every semester they put me through the same crap, give me the run arounds, etc. when i call i never have gotten a straight answer from anyone. i spent last summer on the phone trying to deal with the "issue" of only receiving loans as my primary source of income. even though they are the ones who have given me the loans and have all of it on file they still act like they have no clue. needless to say, i spoke with a number of people that summer trying to figure it out, finally got all my papers in & when i returned for the fall my counselor had "lost" everything. so i had to start all over. its a bureaucratic nightmare for sure. its too much for me to go through every 4 months. the buildings are in bad condition - its either cold as hell in the winter or way too hot & hot hot hot in the summer. i've had huge bugs running arou... I graduated in 1997 and found the education I received at Hunter to be exceptional. I studied at the School of Health Science as my major was Community Health Education. I am currently employed as a Clinical Research Manager at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC. Hunter graduates have gone on to do great things in all areas of life. The college is extremly strong in the sciences and pre-med students are accepted into medical schools much higher than the national average. To date Hunter is the only college in the United States and perhaps the world with two female nobel prize winners in the field of medicine. If you're looking for an affordable yet rich education...look no further.

If it weren't for the absolutely terrible and massive administration, Hunter College would get a five star rating. Hunter has a stellar faculty and a wonderful location for networking no matter what your career/education goals!

Warning: This is all from the point of view of a P/T Graduate Student returning to college after 20 years. As with all things, Hunter has its plusses and its minuses On the plus side, you get experienced facultyno TAs here (at least on the grad level). And, compared to other CUNY senior colleges, Hunter allows you to structure your program with a little more flexibility. Best of all, compared to the cost of private colleges, Hunter is a bargain. On the downside, for me, is an adherence to academic traditions that I find pointless in this day and age. This is the only school I have ever attended (or visited) where the faculty would likesome even demandto be addressed as Dr. or Professor. Even my MD says, Call me Marty. This may seem like a minor point. But I think its where Hunter fails its students. In the business world, people are not addressed with honorifics simply because theyve been around for a while or do a particular job. No one gets special acknowledgment because they h... Read more

Next to City College, the best of the CUNY group. A true educational bargain.
