craft-o-rama has changed my life! i have been looking for a place to be able to grow in my creative side and craft-o-rama has allowed this to flourish in me thanks to the classes they offer. i have taken several classes and i keep coming back for more! why, you may ask? because Hayley has created such a positive, fun environment to learn in and not to mention the amazing line of fabrics you can't really find any where else in town. if you haven't been, you should b/c it just might impact you in ways you've never expected!

Craft-O-Rama is just what I was looking for a place to learn to sew @ an affordable price. I have taken lessons from Haley and think she is an above average teacher. She is very patient & friendly. If you make a mistake or need help on a project she is always more than wiling to help. She also offers classes from other very experienced teachers. I took the class with Jenny Hart-Sublime Stitching and had a great time. Great fabric & craft selection.

My first impression of this place was seeing an ad looking for ONLY local designers and crafter to sell their wares. As a good-for-the-earth policy I am all about buying local stuff and supporting local artists. Hayley has managed to attract both glamour and practical crafters to sell their things. I was afriad when I walked in that I would never be able to afford anything in this super-hip shop. MAIS NON!! Not true! Everything is so reasonably priced that I always leave with more than I thought I would. I can't wait to take some classes and get to use the serger she has available!!!!

Anyone looking to crochet, knit, sew, or anything crafty will absolutely love craft-o-rama. I have never seen so many awesome bolts of fabric - hip, retro, colorful, fun; and the many vibrant colors of yarn are enough to make me salivate. Other than the fabric/yarn, craftorama also has lessons and provides use of the studio - great fun and useful. To boot, tons of local crafters have pretty jewelry, bags, magnets and more - handmade and reasonably priced. This store makes me want to sew my entire wardrobe.

I discovered this awesome shop recently- tucked in a new-ish set of shops on Congress. The coolest fabric I can't find anywhere else locally- including Alexander Henry! This shop also has crafty goodies galore- yarns, embroidery products, jewelry and bags... Local artists have stuff here too and there's *lot's* of classes to take. Super friendly and super crafty, I think this is the best new shop in Austin.

How great is it that coinciding with the massive downsizing in the big-box craft store world, this place pops up? Opened in April 2007, this little independent store is an answer to Austin crafter's prayers. Hayley, the owner, carries the freshest cotton fabrics (Amy Butler and other Freespirit/Westminster lines, Alexander Henry, Robert Kaufman, etc.) that we've had to order online up till now. Craftorama also has oilcloth, notions, and Amy Butler and Wee Wonderfuls patterns. There is also a focus on Austin/Texas craftepreneurs, with Sublime Stitching embroidery supplies, Vickie Howell yarn, and Wool+Hoop crewel kits. But-wait-there's-more! Art+craft exhibits, books, jewelry, Brown Sheep yarn, an extensive offering of sewing, knitting, and crochet classes, and very affordable space rentals for your solo sewing projects or craft groups. We've won! Hooray!

I think it's really great you're opening an affordable crafting shop on S. Congress. I love what you did to the space! It looks fantastic!
