Cowart, Catherine, Md - Reproductive Health Assoc

I had an extremely troubling experience that shocked both my husband and me morning of surgery. I was very bothered by the incident for months. However, I give Cowart the 3 stars because the medical goal of having a successful pregnancy via invitro was accomplished and staff was friendly. I have a beautiful child and will probably return for a 2nd child because she had the magic touch the first time- Although, I personally don't care for Cowart at all as a person.

I have been going to this practice for three years for regular gyn care and some issues with pelvic pain. Dr. Cowart and her staff are competent and caring professionals. Sometimes I have had to wait a bit but that is because Dr. Cowart takes the time to talk to her patients and answer all their questions. She recently performed a laproscopy on me on her day off after I had to reschedule due to illness. She removed pelvic adhesions and I am feeling better. I also got the Tylenol/Codeine and it did what it was supposed to do. Constipation with pain meds is normal.

I've had a great experience with this doctor and her staff. They are the most caring and understanding people I've met. They will do everything they can to help you and will leave no stone unturned. For those of you going through infertility troubles it's hard but this office will take care of you.

I have found Dr. Cowart to be a thourough, active partner in my OBGYN healthcare. She always takes time to explain and talk to me, is never hurried but somehow her schedule works mostly on time - usual wait for me in waiting room was 10 - 15mins. They also have a number of facilities and trained staff on site - ultra sound, and can do some in house stuff like biopsies (sp?). I like her stuff, check in is a little confusing at times, but for the most part ok.

Dr. Cowart is ALWAYS at least two hours late. Every time I go in to her office I am waiting all afternoon. She does not run tests she is supposed to, just assumes she knows the results. I went in for infertility treatments and she did not run tests!

I had the worse medical experience in my life by far with this doctor. She compares you with hundreds of her patients the same way. You are no different or unique in her mind. I had major surgery and the pain reliever she prescribed was Tylenol with codeine for a laparotomy myomectomy type surgery. I questioned to have a stronger pain medicine reliever but she ignored my request, even after surgery laying in a bed at the hospital, she released me the very next day and refused to prescribe a stronger pain reliever. I had to literally cry and argue with her to reconsider and she said Tylenol with codeine is what she prescribes to hundreds of her patients who have never complained and she does not understand why I am in such pain calling me a baby. I got so mad I threatened to complain to my health insurance which I did! but to her I could have complained to anyone she did not care.
