Thu Aug 20 2009I have to admit, I was pretty amused when I came across this website and all of its reviews on this place. So much drama!!! I figure if everyone else is doing it I should too, right? I used Dr. Marshall as my vet for years and years. Never really had a major problem, just a few instances in which he spoke to me in a manner that he shouldn't. He really could use a course on people skills. He was never there and was constantly raising his prices to compensate for it. The final straw came when my beloved dog, who was 14 years old, got to the point where she was just suffering too much. I had her in the vet's office several times in the final weeks and had every test and examination done that was recommended. Money was not an issue, she was a member of my family! I had to make that hard decision that all pet owners dread making. So I scheduled the appointment for a Saturday morning. When we arrived, we waited for a good while before we were seen. When he finally did come in he... Read more

Wed Apr 22 2009Just for posterity's sake, I'll mention that I am spopt36's girlfriend. I've been going to Dr. Bob ever since I was a little girl. When my cat was sick he gave my mother his home phone number. When the cat took a turn for the worse in the middle of the night, he met us at the clinic at 1am to help. He didn't even hesitate, just said "I'll be there in 15 minutes" My parents have been taking their animals to Dr Bob for years now, and he has always been kind, caring, and knows us all by name when we get there. We have not only used the vet services, but also boarding and grooming. And never had a single problem. When I moved home from college with my dog in tow, I knew he was the vet i wanted to see. Every time I go in the staff immediately knows my and my dog's name, and they are all eager to give him plenty of love. I just wanted to let it be known that every experience I've had with Dr. Bob (over a 20 year span) has been positive.

Wed Apr 22 2009I've only been taking my dog here for about a year (Dr Bob was highly recommended to me), we had our dog neutered here and there were absolutely no problems, our dog even fell asleep in an employee's arms while they were removing his stitches (no, he wasn't sedated). I had to come here to point out the suspicious timing of the one star reviews, three 1star reviews in March22-23 of 2008. No reviews for 6 months, then a positive 4star review on October 11th 2008. Then even though there were no reviews for 6 months, from Oct 14th to 22nd 2008, there are 5 more one star reviews out of nowhere. Not to mention the February 10, 2009 review by ilovecbah, just says "yuck yuck yuck..." even though the cached version of this review on Google is "Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 setting it straight - ilovecbah - Feb 10, 2009 Let me just start off by saying that the bad reviews written here all come from former employees except the one about the bladder stone issue. I know this for a fact because I am ..."... Read more

Fri Apr 17 2009I have been going to this vet and clinic since it opened in 1989. I loved the way he treated my dog as though she was his own pet. My dog loved to board with Dr. Marshall. He would tell me how sweet she was, so I know that he spent more than a few minutes with her. He did tell me to watch if she ever slowed down because that would be unusual for this type of breed. I did switch to another vet for a while because we moved. But when my dog was diagnosed with cancer and the new vet refused to even give her pain medicine, I went back to Dr. Marshall. He did his own x-rays and found other significant problems the other vet missed, an enlarged heart. I should have gone back to him sooner. He was very kind to me because he knew how much I cared about her. Now, I have two new dogs and he treats them both. He does additional test other vets would not consider and because of this he has caught and diagnosed issues before they became a problem. He has also driven 6 miles out of his way... Read more

Thu Mar 12 2009First, I AM NOT NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN AN EMPLOYEE, so DO NOT say that because I have concerns. With that said, on the most part, it's not a bad place. In fact, I switched from Sherwood Animal Hospital because my cat came back after a routine bath distressed and extremely dehydrated - not a good sign. However, Dr. Bob can (at times) use a course on people skills when speaking to clients. IF WE DON'T USE YOU YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS ! Also, he needs to hire professional persons who show up on time and actually know how to care for pets. He is high on his prices, but what vet isn't? If you know one, please reply back.

Mon Nov 17 2008My husband and I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Dr. Bob at the Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital. He took care of our cat for 20 years. Recently, we had to put our cat to sleep. Dr. Bob was very compassionate, caring, and sympathetic during this very difficult time. Over the years, we had to take our cat in for boarding, procedures, and check-ups. We were treated by everyone, Dr. Bob and all of his staff, with professionalism and as an important part of the process. We were always kept abreast of what was happening with our pet and informed of any procedure that Dr. Bob felt was necessary. We would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Bob and the Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital to anyone needing a vet.

Fri Nov 14 2008I not have not only been a client of CBAH, but I have also been an employee for 8 years. I have never seen Dr mishandle an animal. I believe he treats all animals and clients with the same respect. I have never seen a large dog in small cages, nor have I seen cat in carriers unless they were coming in or leaving. I would happly recommmend CBAH to anyone!!

Wed Oct 29 2008We have used Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital for 18+ years and have never had any of the problems many of these people have mentioned!!! My animals have received nothing but the best care from Dr. Bob. He makes personal phone calls if there are any concerns and has NEVER performed any procedure, given any medicine, etc. without my authorization. I have popped in at various times over the years to pick up varying items and have always been dealt with in a professional manner. What stands out to me the most was when we had to put my pet to sleep due to age and a large tumor. I could not have asked for a more caring and compassionate veterinarian. We talked at lengh on the phone on our options, I cried, he consoled me and was not the least bit upset when I continued to call with questions. I thanked God ,and continue to do so, the day of the prodecure that Dr. Bob was my vet. I don't think for one minute that I would have received such care from ANYONE else. I continue to bring my... Tue Oct 28 2008I received a call from a friend this past Sunday asking if I was aware of the reviews posted about Coursey Animal Hospital and if I would check this page out. I was appalled and very disappointed. These allegations are false and very hurtful. My family has had 5 cats under the care of Dr. Bob for about 10 years. Two most recently being treated for a thyroid condition and another spade. They both received the best care and were boarded for four days. I have no concerns. I especially appreciate the delicate manner in which ailing cats are handled. Preveiously, when one of the older cats was ill, Dr. Bob called me on my mobile and wanted to make sure my children were not within hearing distance of the conversation so that they would not become upset. We have received nothing but kid glove service. This doesn't seem to be a very popular venue to vent but I felt that I couldn't let this fester. It is unfortunate that many of these reviews seem to coincide with employee's who have e... Read more

Mon Oct 27 2008I have a deep concern here... People have been checking into the goings on at this particular clinic. Employees that no longer work at at the above mentioned clinic for many years now are starting to speak out. A lot of ex-employees feel tremendous guilt for allowing this to continue for so long they feel they have betrayed the clients but most of all the pets. It seems they all have similar incidents in which they have witnessed however, some even more drastic then others. It is time someone steps in and puts an end to this because the sad part of all of all of this is what is happening to the animals. This message board is not to hurt anyone but to help, it is strictly suppose to accomplish one thing and one thing only, helping others pet owners to find a decent veterinary clinic for their pets. If you trust this place then continue to take your animals here, but if you have doubts, please find a different (loving) veterinary clinic to bring your pets to there are so many ... Read more

Sun Oct 26 2008I couldn't be happier than I am with Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital. I have a dog and two cats and the only vet that they are happy with is Dr. Bob. He spends time getting to know them and time with me to help me understand each and every step in their treatment. The reminders that they send to my home are a life saver since I would never remember to get get their check-ups done on time. Boarding is a pleasure because I know my pets are safe. The office is alwasy clean and the staff friendly. If I could, I would give Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital 10 stars, but I guess 5 is the best that I can do :)

Tue Oct 21 2008I witnessed the most horrific sight at this hospital. I would gladly go before any court or any judge and bring in every single employee that has ever worked at this clinic as witnesses. Each employee at this clinic has witnessed this type of abuse at one point or another and everyone has discussed this abuse. Precious dogs being kicked or thumped in the head, cats being extremely manhandled and strangled unconscious by a dog leash by the doctor until the animal is under "his control"(as he says). What I witnessed with this particular cat which had four declawed paws was unbearable the poor animal couldn't even defend itself. (BUT WHY SHOULD AN ANMIAL NEED TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM A DOCTOR WHO IS SUPPOSE TO BE HELPING IT!). A client who was in the waiting room at the time of the incident and heard the deafening scream of the cat then the THUMP then nothing . The cat was choked unconscious; its tongue and gums had already turned the deepest purple/black in the spectrum which means NO... Read more

Wed Oct 15 2008I will try to sum this up for all animal lovers. Never bring your pet to this clinic unless you like being ripped off, lied to and don't love or care about your precious animals. First off, look at the record for how many new faces you see on each visit. This clinic has the BIGGEST employee turnover I have ever seen. Our last and final visit there the doctor was very rude to me. Each time I brought my dog or cat for an exam, I was being told by the Dr that he was training ONCE AGAIN, a new employee. That should tell you something... I popped in early to pick up my dog early and was shocked to find he smelled of an old moldy wet urine stench as though he had been sitting in his own urine on a wet floor and I was given his bedding back soaking wet. I had declined the bath, now I know why they insist on a bath: SO WE WONT KNOW WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON WITH OUR PETS. Since this last incident, I have been told that the animals are left in a very small cage not enough room to be abl... Read more

Mon Oct 13 2008The dr yells at his employees, does not call customers about work being performed. my beloved dog was only aloud 6 min to use the bathroom and walk around, after being in a small kennel with one piece of newspaper all day. the dr. talked to me as if i was a 5 year old and didnt know anything. when i asked why he doesnt show compassion for the animals the dr said he was only doing this for the money. all i can say is if you love your pets as much as we do please find somewhere else to take your pets. P.S. we know take our loved ones to dodge city in denham springs, its a little bit longer of a drive but they seem to treat the animals better.

Mon Oct 13 2008I actually give this place no stars but I had to put at least one. Please do not take your pets here! The Dr. is rude to his customers, rude to his employees, and down right mean to the animals! He puts them in small kennels that he calls dog-run's, and they only get to go out twice a day for six minutes at a time! During surgery if your pet stops breathing he does not tell u then he charges u for the medication he had to use to revive them and doesn't tell u about the charge. He also sedates cats on occasions to work on them, even if its just to exam them. He never tells u that he had to sedate your cat, and then charges u for the medication. Not to mention he is very over priced! PLEASE IF U LOVE UR PETS DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!!

Fri Oct 10 2008While I've never used a boarding service before I knew at least what I thought a good one should consists of. This was not the place where my dog was supposed to stay, but the person responsible for dropping my dog off couldn't find the original place. Upon finding this out, I promptly researched the place and was concerned after reading the other two reviews. I placed a call to the business and after talking to a very wonderful lady named Tina, whom I could tell ginuinely cared for animals, I rested easy. And upon picking my dog up, I could tell she had been well taken care of. Of course like any dog, she was ready to come home, but she seemed in great spirits, which told me that it was a pleasant stay. It's my belief that the quality of care the animals receive now is a tremendous improvement over previous times that were mentioned in the other reviews. It's my understanding that I will need a boarding service once or twice a year for the next few and I fully intend on using this one... Read more

Fri Mar 21 2008After diagnosing a bladder stone which involved a costly surgical procedure, I asked for my dog's records to discuss a second opinion. They would not give it to me. They claimed the other vet could request it and I would have to sign paper work consenting to do so. They still refused to give me x-rays and test results claiming the other vet would have to pick this information up and I could not. Having invested over $400 to date, I felt this to be unfair. I decided to eat the expense and use another more caring Vet...I will NEVER go back and WARN others to stay away. Human Doctors are more cooperative with patient records.
