Better than hut cheese but not quite as good as yurt cheese.

Wretched, unpleasant garbage that looks like bird droppings and tastes like wall-paper paste.

Cottage cheese is delicious, especially in the summer time. Too bad summer's gone.

Admittedly it doesn't exactly look apetizing, but I like it, and I think it definitely improves lasagna. Yeah, you read that right, lasagna. I actually prefer cottage cheese to ricotta. I know it's not "proper" or something, but that's how I make it.

This is actually very tasty and enjoyable. It's low in fat and it's refreshing, as well as having a flavour, which although not strong, is extremely pleasant and distinctive. Brilliant on Ryvita crackers.

Every once in awhile, when I need to shed a few pounds (which, on 2nd thought, is more often than "once in awhile"), I go on a cottage cheese binge. To me, it's pretty tasteless (I buy the kind with the pineapple shreds in it so I can pretend it has at least SOME sort of  flavor) and has a nauseating consistency. Generally, I only last a week or so before I temporarily lose what little mind I have left, rush out to the combination gas-station/convenience store nearby, buy a carton of Ben and Jerry's, and wolf it down like a starved Siberian refugee.

git, you forgot that it also has a similar consistancy to the thighs of a woman you might see walking down the sidewalk in shorts that should REALLY cover up...

I think it tastes pretty bland. It's like a cheap version of ricotta. It's pretty ok with pineapple or berries.

Cottage cheese doesn't get enough credit. It's actually very tasty, once you can get past appearances.

Cottage cheese is manna from heaven. I'm actually addicted to it -- I eat it two or three times a day. A typical grocery trip for me includes four 24-oz. tubs of the stuff. I only wish we had Safeway stores in my area, because their Lucerne brand is my favorite.

Love it, love the small curd, regular cottage cheese, HATE yogurt, but, I have to agree with another rater, the Darigold CC is way too runny, needs to be drier, and I won't buy it if that is all that is available in the store. They need to fix that runny problem they have. Good in the summer with fruits, with salads, and just with toast for breakfast, but needs to be cold.

This is good, it is a good source of calcium and protein, however, I don't think this really belongs in the cheese category

This should not qualify as real food. To me it looks like left over bird droppings.

Love cottage cheese, but some brands, like Darigold are too runny, they need to be drier and of a thicker consistancy (small curd). I stop buying the brands that are too milky or runny.

This cheese is punishment from God! I don't understand the curdy consistency, how freaky! The taste is a total turn-off.

I love cottage cheese if it's large curd and is by itself. Some people feel obligated to put fruit with it, but I say there is no accounting for taste. I eat it straight with a little salt and pepper.

This varies for me. First of all, I only like two major brands. My first and only choice was once Michigan brand (small curd, 4% milk fat). I still like it but it tends to vary in taste these days for some odd reason – so it’s hit or miss with them. Then a few years ago I discovered Breakstone brand. This one is just as tasty as Michigan (small curd 4% milk fat). The low fat in either brand is obviously better for you but it lacks taste for me in a big way so I buy the 4% and eat smaller amounts of it. Since childhood I have learned to avoid the store generic brands, (large curd and very loose looking) at all costs. They are usually extremely tasteless, bland and the soupy texture is unpleasant. If this had been the only cottage cheese I had ever had I know I would be rating this a 1 rather than a 5. Compared to the two top brands I mentioned it doesn’t even seem like the same food.

I've tried several times to east Cottage cheese, but it just doesn't appeal to me for some reason. I like Ricotta cheese better.
