I don't have good comments about this place. My daughter went through all the steps from the first interview, photo shoots... Was called a couple of time for interviews with clients, but never been picked for any jobs. When her one year contract was over, we never received any call from them for her to renew her contract or to take newer pictures or to see where she stands. So if you want to have the experience of photo shoots or how a modeling agency works, go there but you need to be aware that you might loose your time and some big bucks too, because they are pricey for what they have to offer!

Took my infant son there for an interview w/the "New Faces Director". Noticed the following things: 1.) Located in a sketchy part of town. I don't expect an agency to be in a really hip, swanky, exclusive area, but (literally) right next to the railroad tracks? C'mon! 2.) Required upfront fees. Check out modelingscams(dot)org/upfrontfees(dot)html and the FTC's website (search for "modeling scams") for info on this. In short, NO reputable agency will ever charge money up front. (Plus, it's illegal to do so in some states.) 3.) Icing on the cake: told ME I should be a model and tried to sell ME a modeling package! I took my son in on the off chance that maybe we could use the money from modeling jobs to save up for his education, and the next thing I know, I'm being told that I'd be a *great* model, and here's the fees for representation, and we've got a payment plan, etc. The kicker: the adult representation fees are 4-5 times more expensive than the fee to represent an infant; they'd... Okay, well..honestly - no offense Yoda, but you sound like you work for Cosmo...are you the scout Kitty, Kippy..? I went there in high school, and the "agency" wanted over $1,000 for classes....my boyfriend got called late last year and I went in with him so the "agency" wouldn't scam him or waste his money...they now want you to fork over $1,000 without classes...and the woman paid more attention to me than him. I am a model, I model for multiple photographers but I'm not signed. I would love to be signed, but unfortunately there are no reputable agencies in KY that I know of. My friend Hannah used to model for WomensManagement agency, that's in NY - they paid her big money and covered her trip to Venice for a shoot...thats what I call a REAL agency! This "model scout" kept asking me my height (5'10) and if I was signed and that I should join them...I literally laughed in her face cause my own friend modeled for this place, she is model material to the T, they took a few pics and set... I read the previous review and it reminded me of my situation when I went into Cosmo. I moved from New York with the idea that I knew what the modeling world was all about. After going to a few other places and seeing that they wanted money for training and couldn't show any actual work their models did I went to Cosmo. I called back to NY and my Agency recommended them since they had found girls from there before. I quickly realized they knew what modeling was. The whole office was plastered with work from their models locally and world wide. After seeing my book they offered me a spot with them. I was hesitant at first but after they showed me paperwork that they didn't and couldn't guarentee work I realized they were legit. Any model knows that the client picks and if they were having me sign that they didn't that's all I needed. The condition I had was that I wouldn't use their photographer but photos I already had from NY. I got my way and was ready to work. Time went ... Read more

I recently went to visit Cosmo and found that they seem to be a little too pushy and came across as a scam. I have been a model for a long time in New York and moved to Louisville 3 years ago. They wanted me to pay them $1,500 to do just a portfolio and I had to work with only their photographer. Any legitimate modeling agency will allow you to go to the photographer of your choice to get your comp card. Your comp card will consist of three to 5 picture on front and back with your name height age bust waist hip and shoe size on them. They will also not be able to tell you it's part time work. There is no way for a Talent agency to guarantee a model work! I know this from experience. While I was in there. there was a model complaining about how they had paid for and not received any of their comp cards. Did I mention it should only cost about $200-$450 to get a portfolio started and to get your comp cards. Usually the photographer will also give you a cd with all of your pictures on th... Read more
