Fri Sep 25 2009I was having a washer problem on a 12 year old washer. Mr. Gonzalez came out and identified the problem and gave me estimate to fix the problem. His honest and forthrightness led me to conclude that it was not worth fixing this old an appliance and rather more prudent to purchase a new one. I sincerely appreciate the experience and honesty. There was no pressure to proceed with a fix that would have put money in Mr. Gonzalez' pocket but would not have been a good cost/benefit ratio to me. I would definitely use Cornerstone again for any future appliance repair needs.

Thu Sep 03 2009I would DEFINITELY use them again. They gave me a 2 hour window. Called me when on the way. Were on time. Courteous. Even sent me an SMS text message confirming the credit card charge. Tech guy explained the repair. Was maybe (?) pricey - $75 fee for the drive, plus $67 in labor for about an hour. Hey, overall i'm pretty happy. Wish it hadn't cost QUITE as much, but it's cheaper than a new washer.

Mon Jul 06 2009I called at 9am this morning about my fridge and freezer not cooling. I was told that I had a 4:30 appointment but that they would try and get me in earlier. The secretary said that they would give a courtesy call 15mins before their arrival. At 4:15 I started to get a little worried. By 4:40 I called the office but it said they closed at 4pm!! Why would they schedule me at 4:30 and not give me any contact # or contact person!!! It is now 5:15 and have not heard a darn thing. Needless to say, I don't recommend them. And I could've called someone else to look at it today, but now I have to go get ice, put it in the ice chest and ice everything down.

Tue May 19 2009Called about a freezer problem. The owner and technican were very friendly and professional, but after several visits, they were unable to resolve the issue. I ended up calling another company, who replaced the thermostat and fixed the problem. Not sure what happened here.

Thu Apr 16 2009Cornerstone Applicance saved my life! I had been having washing machine problems since February with several applicance companies trying to fix my Bosh washer... and never having the concern or the expertise to do so..... I finally had the fortune of having Cornerstone out and it was fixed in a couple of days. Jaime did an EXCELLENT job for me, being dependable, dedicated to his work, and so honest. I will definitely use them again, should I need another repair. Don't bother with other outfits. This is the best one in town, by a long shot!!

Tue Dec 02 2008I fortunately had never had any problems with appliances I own until the other day when my washer quit spinning. I called Cornerstone based on all of the positive online reviews and I am so happy that I did. The female that took my call scheduled me promptly for the next morning and was very polite. She even called as I requested and gave me an hour notice that someone would be there right on time. Jaime came out and after thoroughly inspecting my washer told me that he didn't think it was worth me fixing it. By the time I bought the part (close to $200) and added labor to it, I could buy a new one for just about $100 or so more. He even double-checked the scenerio with Fernando the owner via a quick phone call and got the same answer from Fernando. I felt that was extremely honorable that they would basically tell me that it was not in my best interest to give them the business. Sun Nov 16 2008Fernando has great service, is on time with appointments, and has fair prices. He does great work, takes time to listen to you, check out the appliance, and to show / explain what is wrong. Fernado is polite, professional, and seems to be very good at appliance repair.

Tue Nov 11 2008Very professional from the the start when I called to schedule service. I explained the problem that we were having with our washing machine and refrigerator to the lady that answered the phone. She asked for the model numbers of the 2 appliances which needed to be repaired. By having this information, Fernando was able to pre-diagnose what he thought the problems were and arrived with the parts in his work van the next day. It was not an emergency repair. You could tell he really cared about his work, was friendly and personable...and we were not just another customer...which my husband and I found quite refreshing. He even suggested a few preventative things for me to do on the washing machine to avoid any future problems. His price was fair on the service. We highly recommend Cornerstone and will use him in the future if we ever need appliance repair.

Mon Oct 20 2008Fernando arrived within the time window I was given. Very friendly and professional; a family run business. My icemaker wasn't working, they took care of it without trying to sell me parts I didn't need, and I got the floor under my refrigerator swept and my refrigerator coils vacuumed too! I will definitely call again when I have the need.

Tue Jul 01 2008I called Fernando to fix our double gas wall oven when the automatic temperature control failed to work on one of the two ovens. I called him based on the 4 star rating he has in Citywide. I knew nothing else about him --- naturally, I was somewhat leery. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes (it was just as he suggested on the phone when I initially contacted him - an igniter.) He fixed the problem, was very courteous, efficient and reasonable. He was in and out in 30 minutes. If you want an honest, reliable and knowledgeable appliance repair person, call Fernando. No reservations on this recommendation.

Fri Jun 27 2008We called Fernando at Cornerstone when feverishly trying to get someone out to look at our refrigerator after we had found it smoking in the middle of the night. After talking to at least five other repair services, we were fortunate to contact Cornerstone and speak to Julia at the office, who said she would work on getting Fernando out to see us that day, although he was already booked up. Julia was extremely helpful and was very customer friendly, which is a big deal to us when calling someone for service, especially in what we considered an "emergency" situation at our home (at the time I called, I was two weeks from delivering a baby and living out of ice chests with a 2 yr. old toddler). He took three extra calls that day and arrived at our house that evening when I am sure all other repair shops had already quit for the day (now that is going the extra mile!). Mon Jun 23 2008Fernando is the absolute best service person in Austin! I cannot say enough good things about this company. They came out quickly and provided excellent service. I read the reviews on Citysearch and thought they were almost too good to be true. BUT, the good reviews are true. Fernando is amazing. He was EARLY (called first), incredibly knowledgeable and professional. His prices are unbeatable, but even more important is the service. Fernando is honest! We sold our house and the inspector said that the oven was not calibrated correctly. Fernando took the time to come out and check the oven at various temps. Everything checked out OK and the service charge was minimal. Any other appliance guy may have tried to sell me some parts, or at least charge me to recalibrate. Not Fernando. He is honest and hardworking - HIGHLY recommend.

Sat Apr 19 2008My husband and I just moved to a new place and when we hooked up our washer and dryer we noticed that the dryer was not producing any heat. I got online and found out about Fernando and his business by watching the video. I was impressed so I gave him Cornerstone Appliance Repair a call. I called around 12:30pm on a Monday to see if I could schedule a time for Fernando to come out. I needed to get an appointment that day if possible since my husband and I both needed to be a work Tuesday morning. Fernando had a full day and said that he could squeeze me in at the end of the day since his last appointment was in my area. To my surprise, Fernando called about an hour later saying that one of his jobs didn't take as long as expected and he could head my way! Mon Feb 18 2008I chose Cornerstone because of the reviews. I'm glad I did. Fernando called right away and helped diagnose the problem over the phone. He came out the next day to service the dryer. I learned a lot talking with him while he did the repair. It's great to have someone who really enjoys their job and is good at it. All I could expect and more!

Tue Feb 12 2008The customer service on the phone and the actual service call were just the best experience we've ever had!!! Julia who set our appt actually got Fernando on his cell for a preliminary diagnosis (of our non-functioning dryer) & assured me that Fernando would have the appropriate parts if needed, and discussed replacement VS repair with a helpful opinion abt which brands had maintenance issues. Fernando called us from the road to assure us he was on his way and with an approximate arrival time. He quickly repaired our dryer and gave us specific advice on how to avoid the same problem in the future and also very helpful advice about which brands to look at when the time comes for a new washer & dryer. We will be calling again to use Cornerstone and highly recommend Fernando & company to all!!!

Mon Jan 07 2008A friend recommended Cornerstone after I had tons of trouble/issues trying to get Sears to fix my washer. Julia was very friendly over the phone and was able to order the part I needed and get it in quickly. Fernando was on time, did the work quickly and effeciently and was pleasant to talk to. Not only did I save over $100 dollars by going with Cornerstone, but they were able to order the part and come to my house in days, instead of the week or two it was going to take Sears. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Fernando and his team at Cornerstone are by far the easiest to do business with, fairest on price, and overall best operation I have found in Austin. Highly recommended for apartment owners!

Mon Oct 22 2007I had already scheduled an appointment with another company when I started reading reviews for Cornerstone on this and another site. I'm glad I called them. Not only were they able to come out the same day, but he had the part with him and was able to get my fridge up and running right away. I have already started telling my coworkers about how reasonably prices and friendly the service was. I plan on using them again for an oven install.

Sun Aug 19 20071) They didn't call back when they said they would. 2) When they did call back, I told them what the problem was; this was a simple fix (but I didn't have the part and couldn't get it quickly). BTW, I was right. 3) They charged me $60 for visit (reasonable), $35 for the part (available online for much cheaper, but I expected a markup), and $25 for the 5 min of work. Plus tax, that's an easy $130. $300/hr (ie, 12*$300) for labor is just plain unreasonable. The $60 covers the house visit, after all. 4) The warranty on the fix was only 30 days. If they stand behind their work, they should at least warranty the repair for 90 days.

Thu Apr 26 2007I cannot recommend Fernando/Cornerstone enough. I will use Fernando/Cornerstone in the future in a heartbeat. One of the burners on my gas stove had not been working for quite some time. I had a repairman come out a while back, and not only did he not fix the problem, but it turns out he caused more damage to my stove during the repair (which I found out later). He refused to return my calls to come out and correct the matter. Fernando/Cornerstone to the rescue! Fernando diagnosed the problem, got the part, and fixed it all on the same day. Not only was he clearly a very competent and knowledgeable repairman, but he was so friendly and personable. The whole experience was an A+. It definitely pays to go with someone who comes recommended, rather than picking a random service out of the phone book.

Fri Feb 23 2007My refrigerator stopped working in the middle of the night last month. In the morning, I began searching for someone to repair it. Most of the places I called were more like answering services, than repair technicians. None of them seemed to care about my problem; they simply wanted to focus on their fee schedule. Additionally, most of them could not schedule me for a week or more. One week without a refrigerator? Doable, but no thanks! I tripped across Cornerstone on Citysearch. I talked to Fernando who diagnosed the problem over the phone and scheduled time to be in Round Rock in less than 4 hours. He even called to let me know he was on the way and confirm he had the correct part for the repair. Once he arrived, he worked quickly and explained the repair process in great detail.
