Sat Sep 30 2023For years, chronic back pain had limited my mobility and enjoyment of life. However, my introduction to yoga at Corepower Yoga was a turning point. Guided by expert instructors, yoga cured my back pain, bringing flexibility and renewed physical well-being. I'd also like to share the incredible impact of biomagnetism therapy on my journey to wellness. Biomagnetic therapy provided the all-encompassing healing I needed when conventional treatments proved ineffective. Using magnets to rebalance the body's pH levels, it addresses the root causes of health issues, offering profound and lasting relief. I strongly recommend the integration of biomagnetism with yoga practice. For additional information, visit drgarciabiomagnetism.com.

Wed Aug 12 2009Toned and limber urbanites tote their yoga mats to this boutique yoga studio for classes that suit all styles of practice. Classes range from Vinyasa-style yoga sessions to a yoga sculpt class that adds weights to a traditional course flow. Clean, well-appointed locker rooms and showers make it easy for students to pop in for a class and return to work with ease; an in-studio yoga boutique sells mats, towels and gear and keeps the latest yoga necessities and accessories at client’s fingertips.

Sun Sep 14 2008Ive been to this studio several times and have been practicing yoga (at different studios) for years. The heat makes this vinyasa yoga very challenging. If youre used to the heat the classes seem a little repetitive. The only complaint I have is that all of the instructors give basically the same routine with little variation, new poses are rarely introduced. If you go often enough you start to realize this. I practiced here for a while and then went to a different studio (in another state) where every instructor offered something profoundly challenging, mentally and physically, with more varied practices while still focusing on specific poses. I was always interested in what I would learn next. When I came back to Core Power in NW I felt unchallenged except for by the heat! Otherwise a great place to get a deep vinyasa workout. Definitely detoxifying and your heart rate goes waaaaay up.

Tue Jul 08 2008This studio has a great variety of teachers - use the free first week to get to know them. You will like some classes better than others. CP2 classes can be wonderful, but you need to have the basic yoga postures down. Otherwise, develop your practuce with the CP1 non-heated classes. Hot yoga is intense - maybe not a good introduction if you have never done yoga. Anyway, you can find what you're looking for here. Have fun!

Mon Nov 27 2006I fell in love with with this studio immediately. The classes range from intense & heated to relaxing and non-heated. They have level 1, level 2, hot yoga, and prenatal. The instructors and the other clients are welcoming and I truly feel a part of the community that has been created there every time I walk in. I look forward to beating those winter blues in this warm studio.

Wed Jan 18 2006I really love going to Corepower Yoga. I like the classes and the ambiance of the studio, but mostly the teachers are fantastic - great energy and very inspiring. My favorites are Lisa and Eric.

Sat Jan 14 2006I tried around 15 studios in Portland before settling on CorePower. The studio is nice, the teachers are awesome and the heated C2 classes are real workout. If you are looking for a yoga to increase strenth and flexibility without spending a whole lot of time talking about your chakras or your minds eye, CorePower is great Sarah's classes are especially a treat.

Mon Oct 03 2005Maybe they need bigger classrooms or fewer people -- there were so many people jammed in that there wasn't enough space really. The instructor seemed well-intentioned but said that the lack of space made it better for us to share our practice with each other. Lame! Maybe a good place for people who want to practice a yoga lifestyle or whatever it is that turns overcrowding into a good thing, but not such a good place if you just want to work out.
